Every now and then I see pictures and have myself purchased figures before that suffer from discolouration - for example the 1-2-3 Kid’s head, Shawn Michaels’ head, some arm Color differences on Crush
What’s the cause of these - Any advice for protecting figures?
Does light cause any issue for the figures (such as if they were on display)
I live in a very humid place, Is that a problem for the hasbros and any advice for making sure I keep them pristine - both unboxed and boxed ?

It's the same as what happens to video game consoles. It's a chemical reaction: oxidation. The plastic used for these figures is sensitive to UV light.
Now, there IS a solution, it's known as retrobrite. However, since you can't take Hasbro WWF figures apart without basically breaking them it's a difficult solution as you'll need to protect everything that's not discolored.
This video shows how to de-yellow MOTU figures:

Thanks Ruby. What about humidity, light and displaying, do you have advice for protecting before oxidation ?

Thanks Ruby. What about humidity, light and displaying, do you have advice for protecting before oxidation ? I'd say a dark room and airtight boxes.

Fantastic video!
Can I use this technic on my mailaway Hulk Hogan? The arm as not yellowed but lightened. It’s a typical issue. In my eyes it destroys the whole figure. I cannot unsee this and am very serious about this. If this is a solution I don’t have to buy a new one...

Like I said you can't take apart a Hasbro WWF figure, so you'd need to pack every part that's not discolored. I'd try on a Roberts, Piper or IRS first, before possibly ruining a mailaway...
