The Giant had alot of talent for a man of his size. He shouldn't have been in the NWO. Do you think he could have been built up like Andre The Giant?

nwo member at one point or not, there's no question that giant/bigshow is one of the most mishandled talents in that generation.
kevin sullivan got his hands on him creatively and it really did a number. that combined with inexperience and clearly lack of good creative for him and he was doomed.
wwf didn't fare him much better initially, although they did at least try with him.

It didn't help that he wore a regular black singlet. He should have put on a black tank top and shorts. He said in an interview that he didn't want to be called Andre The Giant's son. I still think he could have been used like a real giant.

I always laugh about Vince's attitude to Giant. He apparently bitched weekly that Bischoff had no idea what to do with him...then proceeded to do the exact same/worse.
Look at his introduction to WWF. Accidentally gave Austin the win...looked a cretin out the gate. Then he was fed to Austin on Raw immediately...Even Austin told Vince it was a bad idea to job him out so early but Vince viewed it like some kind of strange initiation....

The problem too was that there were no more territories in 1995. Having someone like The Giant wrestle for you is only good for a few months, then he can leave and go somewhere else. Having The Giant in WCW full time for four years or so wrestling, he was going to have to lose matches. Thus making him just a man and no longer a giant.

I read an interview with Paul Wight where he said he wanted to be a great worker like Arn Anderson. Vince McMahon didn't even know what to do with Raven and Diamond Dallas Page.

I liked Lex Luger and The Giant as a tag team.

Didn't they bill him as Andre's son?

my favorite wrestler, yeah. .you heard me. He was awesome as hell in WCW as a face,.. they should have never made him rejoin the nWo and yeah... his run in WWE imo, has been such a waste... pretty much made him a joke. Giant was pretty over as a face in 97, 98. and yeah..I am aware,.. I feel like a hypocrite with an nWo pic of the Giant in my avatar, and I'm a big nWo fan as well... but IMO he was best as a face in WCW

It's because he was an over WCW guy

They gave him that one big storyline with Steve Austin and then it was downhill after that. I liked him better in WCW fighting the NWO as well.

He developed some very strange dietary habits in WWF...he admits this himself. He says himself he was kinda hooked on Burger King & he was drinking a massive amount of milk every day....that's gonna heap on the pounds..no doubt

He developed some very strange dietary habits in WWF...he admits this himself. He says himself he was kinda hooked on Burger King & he was drinking a massive amount of milk every day....that's gonna heap on the pounds..no doubt Some of those habits developed prior to the WWE. His smoking gimmick in WCW developed out of his reputation for loving cigs, which obviously didn't help his cardio. He also admitted that prior to his return in 2008, where he was visibly more fit, that he didn't work out on his own. I'm very glad that he decided to make some changes not only for his career, but for his life prospects.

I watched his match with Jeff Jarrett. He could really move around the ring back then.
