I honestly just want "First time in the line" figures at this point

Honestly, this line better be more than just repaints. Not that it's Mattel's fault but not having a lot of depth in the legends line will ultimately kill my interest as I usually only buy one of each character. Unless that person has had multiple iconic gimmicks, personally I'm not a big fan of buying the same figures over and over again with subtle paint changes. They need to start diving more into the mid-card of the attitude era and ruthless aggression era in my opinion and make guys like Hardcore Holly, Test, Steve Blackman, The Headbangers, and the list goes on. It is Mattel’s fault about depth. They choose not to pay for deals for people who don’t have Legends deals. WWE isn’t going to go out and sign these mid carders to Legends deals just so Mattel can make an action figure of them. We are 11 years in, quit cheap I f out. We need depth, not constant repaints

We got Heenan in a weasel suit in a series and a Warrior in a suit in the next. You all are going to be disappointed with these line ups.

They wouldn’t treat action figures any different than characters in games. They’re not going to let their property be represented one way on one platform and on another restrict it I believe it’s Mattel’s way of doing business

As for video games and toys, from my understanding there are very different likeness and merchandising rights involved. Is the practice of only producing figures of wrestlers under Legends contracts due to an internal corporate decision or a licensor mandate? The licensor currently wants to handle deals with Legends. It’s their IP/brand so it’s their call.

But it's been a few years since 2K has used any characters not under Legends deals, as far as I know. I believe Martel was the last. And Topps only uses wrestlers under deals (though that could very well be cost driven as well, and I was told autograph contracts are negotiated separately). And WWE is known to have some very off the wall policies that can change on a whim. I don't think it's a leap to say that they might not be the easiest partner to work with. At the end of the day, whether it's Mattel or WWE, the product has definitely stagnated for flashbacks. I'm very interested to see if having some competition changes anything.

Don’t know what will be where but realistic legends I’d like to see included are :
Suited Regal from commissioner days. Acolytes. Lawler from mid 90’s. War zone Vince. Faarooq with blue helmet. 96 warrior. Hollywood blonde Austin. Mabel from MoM. Kama Mustafa. Nation Kama.
Then any of these less realistic ones would make me happy:
Tazz. Sabu. Test. Val. Smoking Gunn’s. Mo. Konnan. Buff Bagwell. Slick. Fuji. LoD blue or gold. Earl Hebner. Holly’s. RVD.

I can’t come up with lineups but it needs to be heavy hitters in desired attires. Hulk Rules Hogan is something I want to see. Essentially Hasbro number 1 Hogan. Any non Ministry or ABA Taker too.
Ultimate Warrior is slotted for the next one but it’s his final appearance. Now it’s neat and all but there’s still other Warriors. I feel like that might have been better served as like a Ringside or Amazon exclusive or something. Maybe I’m just misreading they demand for that one.
