Hopefully he wouldn't lower himself... "wrestling encyclopedia", lol. Have you never heard an interview where he talks wrestling? The guy is obsessed and it’s contagious. I don't know if it's cool to go against the grain these days or what, but I see a lot of people online who are completely dismissive of guys like Cornette, Heyman, Meltzer, and JR. Are some of their opinions dated? Sure. Unpopular? Definitely. But these guys know wrestling history inside and out as well as anyone.

The only problem is when someone like those people you mentioned sticks their feet in the ground and get really precious about how new stuff sucks.

It's not going to happen. Heyman is still under contract with WWE. Yeah... we know.

Did you read my original post thoroughly? Yes Then you shouldn’t have said what you said above.

Heyman's contribution to wrestling is awesome. ECW is legendary. He's had a good run in the WWE. That being said, I don't want to see him in any capacity in AEW at any point. I want AEW to be its own thing; free of influences like Heyman, whose style is all too familiar in wrestling.

Heyman is one of those guys whose reputation and perception does not fit his reality.
He is an C- manager at best. The manager's job is to get their people over. Who has Heyman ever gotten over? Brock. That's it. That's the list. Look at the rest of the guys he's managed.
CM Punk: Was already over & did not need a mouthpiece. Curtis Axel: Failure. Ryback: Failure Cesaro: Failure Big Show: Was already over.
And then everyone wants to bring up the Dangerous Alliance. So look at it.
Arn Anderson: Was already over Bobby Eaton: Was already over Rick Rude: Was already over Larry Zbyszko: Failure. Larry's time was passing, so I don't think he was getting over in any case, but he is the forgotten man of the DA. Steve Austin: Failure. People love to give Heyman credit for Austin, but the DA was short lived and Austin was so unimportant at the time WCW let him walk. He went to ECW and cut a bunch of promos and then was the flippin' Ringmaster.
Original Midnight Express: Failure. As much as I thought the angle with Cornette/Lan/Eato was fun, the OME did not get over at all.
Then ECW. It was such a success that he had to get secret subsidies from the WWF to stay afloat. Paul was good at talking rabbits into lions dens, convincing guys to stick with him when there was nothing good in it for them at the end. I don't give him credit for being a good con man.

You know what? They don't need Heyman.

I think giving Heyman creative be would honestly hurt the product. I think it’s fine as is. Tony obviously has learning to do but he has a wealth of knowledge and the right people around him.

This'll be unpopular, I'm sure, but here goes:
Heyman as an on-screen performer is fantastic, he is untouchable on the mic - but off-screen? The guy is a complete ass.
He didn't pay the ECW staff for over six months, then jumped ship to WWF without telling anyone, and hid behind Vince rather than take the heat for it. When the COVID cuts happened, he couldn't resist stirring up s**t by suggesting to Vince that Gallows and Anderson should be cut - then bare-faced lied to Styles when confronted about it.
So in answer to the OP - I hope Heyman never gets anywhere near AEW or any other promotion's booking/creative/position of authority EVER.

You make good points, but his booking in ecw really did revolutionize the business and changed the game.
