Who do you think are the most aggressive type of collectors? I would have to go with the Hot Wheels car collectors. The guys in this area are at all the major stores at opening time every day and will literally run to get to the toy section. I have also personally witnessed Hot Wheels collectors absolutely come unglued on employees at stores about what is or isn't in stock.
I have a friend who is a manager at Walmart and he said that he has had people demand to go into the back of the store and go through the unopened cases of cars that haven't been put out yet. He said they will also try to buy an unopened case, pick out what they want and then return the rest.
Who do you think are the most aggressive or vicious collectors? MacFarlane? Wrestling figures? Sports cards? Lets hear your thoughts!

Around my area it seems to be McFarlanes, only because the scalpers will do anything to get the figure that they can then go and sell on ebay for a $2 profit.
oh, and people who collect firearms.

When I worked for KB (worked there for 3+ years), the only type of collectors that I couldn't stand were the Hot Wheels collectors. Like someone else said, they will actually demand to go in the back and look through cases. I've caught collectors actually in the stock room on multiple occassions opening up boxes when no one ever let them back there. I've been accused of lying when the cars actually are all out on the floor. Most of them seemed to be bitter, old men to me.
Everyone else, I would have no problem helping and pulling stuff out of the back, down from the overstock, etc., for them. But I always dreaded when I would see certain Hot Wheels collectors.

I go to TRU sometimes to get hard to find WWE Jakks, and I'm the only one there for those when they open. Everytime though, there's these 3 fat losers in shorts in 40 degree weather waiting there to run to the Hot Wheels, Marvel Legends and McFarlane sports figures. As long as they don't get in my way, it's fine. I so hate EBAY whores.

Hot Wheels first, McF second.
When I was a manager at KB, the Hot Wheels guys would call every morning to see what time our truck came in, would be there when the truck came, and would want to be the first to open the cases. There were a few guys like that, so that made it a tough situation. So if we got a few cases, I would give one case to each guy there and let them go through it.
McF people were pretty bad. We had this one woman who was such a bitch about wanting sports variants, she would want to be the first to open the cases too. She would constantly call and ask when we were getting figs, and which ones. She became such a bitch that we cut her off from McF. We would open the cases in the stock room, take out the variants and replace them with figs from another case or from the peg, then put that out for her. She would go nuts.
People like that think they deserve things. I don't think I have ever asked someone to go look in the back for me, let alone demanded them to. If you're nice, someone just might go check for you. What's so wrong about being nice?

I don't know much about the scalpers because of my location, but I can tell you that I have seen some pretty ugly sides of people in the sports card collecting. I buy alot of cards, but I have witnessed people spend there entire checks, savings, credit cards....You name it and then try to sell it all back to get a small percentage of there money back, just so they don't totally lose it. It gets ugly quite often.

Three year old kids looking for hotwheels, they are brutal. They will take you out at the knees, bite you, throw stuff at you anything to get what they want. Obviously i am joking, but i don't really know. I have never ran into a "agressive" collecter here in Calgary.

As soon as I read the subjectline I thought "Hotwheels collectors," and sure enough it was the first group mentioned. Those guys are lunatics. The other scalpers around here aren't too noticable. Some of the Hotwheels guys are downright creepy to run into.

The one time I was at my TRU at opening, back when CSTT1 came out, me and about three other guys bolted straight for the WWE section as soon the doors opened. Luckily, I had an insider who hid me an LOD. When I worked at Kmart, every so often there would be a Hotwheels sealed case promotion where collectors could come in when the store opened and open the cases themselves. I was never there for any of them, but I was told that it was quite a mad house.

The kind of collectors who will go thru hell and high water for whatever they want/collect! Just like ME! lol On a more serious note,The Hot Wheels Goons by far! I have seen wal-mart security break up old men literally fighting over them at 3-4 A.M. What a sight....

The only things "scalped" at my store are...the Cars character cars.
I swear, after a few days of a new case being on the pegs, all that remain are Lightning McQueens and Maters.

I have never really ran into any bad collectors or scalpers but alot of the time when I go over to the car area of a store they are always ransacked. I collect hotwheels and actualy found alot of rare cars right in front of the pegs like I found a final run 2003 lamborghini diablo and a bugatti veyron and they are both hard to find.but when I was visting my family in kentucky I went to a 24hr wal-mart to get a tooth brush and there was a whole bunch of 40 year old men looking though the race cars and hot wheels.

Wrestling figures and McFarlanes in my area. I have never seen any McFarlane chase figure in stores except for overpriced comic shops.
