what bothers me about AEW suspending Sammy is the fact that they pimped out Mike Tyson for exposure right before all of this. Its such a bad look. The hypocrisy is terrible Tyson has recognized many of his errors and has always remained adamant that the rape charge was not a rightful charge, but your point still is true. Mike's rise and fall and climb again has been fascinating. He took the world by storm and then the world took it back. He's been trying to get himself straight for a long time and really seems to have found himself now. His mind seems to be in a better place. The recent videos of him training were pretty impressive.

Beyond being a convicted rapist, they suspended Sammy for an off hand comment. Tyson has said faaaaaaar worse. Its not just the rape conviction. Who can forget when he said he wanted to eat Lennox Lewis' children, or this gem: tyson has shown a tremendous amount of growth. i already spoke about the rape conviction, and the video you posted is tyson responding to a journalist bringing up the rape conviction in a pre-fight conference. tyson snapped. the dude came from the streets, faced tremendous abuse himself, and has acknowledged that his past behaviors are wrong and seeked to correct them. he's friends with lennox lewis now. sammy hadn't apologized and it hadn't been brought to light. once again, i agree that there is a base level of hypocrisy there, but your absolute damnation of tyson imo isn't seeing the forest through the trees here. i mean, if we're gonna drag all the skeletons out, why stop at Tyson? better get rid of Jake the Snake for being a crack smoker that ignored his family for his own selfish highs for years and Arn Anderson for essentially attempted murder against Sid Vicious. He had a similar moment here in Toronto a while back when he was in town to meet (then) Mayor Rob Ford. CP24 morning host Nathan Downer mentions his rape conviction FOR NO REASON. Tyson is immediately p1ssed off, and appears ready to kill him at the end.

If #SpeakingOut existed in the 70s and 80s, Jerry Lawler would've been executed and Po Wrestling wouldn't have made it to Wrestlemania 1. Not condoning. Js. Wrestling always seems to get a pass from the media because it's just "fake wrasslin." The number of wrestlers who died young tops that of the movie, music, sports, and other "celebrity" deaths. You always hear about musicians and actors ODing on pills and being found dead, but unless it's a wrestler murdering his family and then committing suicide, it's not news. Even the Owen Hart coverage was LAUGHABLE. Can you imagine the coverage you'd see if an actor died on the set of a movie and they continued production with the actor's fresh blood in plenty of scenes in the movie? The way that went down and the coverage of it was a joke. This #speakingout story has been big in the industry, but not so much in the media. Certainly not like it would be if if was MLB. Even the current covid crises seemingly going on in wrestling gets zero coverage compared to NBA and NHLers recently testing positive. Vince (DEFINITELY VINCE) and the wrestling industry seems to largely exist in their own bubble, ignored by the outside media world.

Tyson could actually eat someone's kids and I wouldn't say š© to him about it š but the fact remains he's leaps and bounds from where he was and continuously moves towards a better direction in life.
Also, why flood threads with 5-6 post replies? Member status is really really not important enough to be trying to inflate numbers with spam posts in every thread.

Per Cody Rhodes Twitter "sammy will return, and he'll be a better professional wrestler and a better person when he does too".
Glad to hear that his return is certain. No way Cody tweets that without knowing for sure.

Just for clarification, I don't believe that was Owen Hart's blood at Over the Edge. Video evidence basically revealed it was stage blood from The Brood.

Havoc quietly retired when he went in to rehab. I had no idea. Was this published anywhere? His Progress stuff will always be legendary.
