Crazy how Wmania 6 they had massive pops but then 1 yera later their jobbing out to a team that wasnt even fully in the wwf. I get that once CRUSH was added Demolition lost its appeal but it was still pathetic to see them get completely jobbed out
I would have liked to see them just put over the road warriors then be done

I always felt there was something "off" with the Smash/Crush pairing. Looking at results from 1991 They were done pretty much by early May so their run isn't nearly as long as I remembered it being. I also saw that I was there live to see Darsow's first night as Repo Man on 7/30/91 in Portland, ME during a TV taping.

i liked the 3 man team alot. reminded me of the Freebirds. i liked smash/crush too and thought they wrere even a tougher team but wwf didnt do anything with em. i did feel the staleness of them at the end tho. with a good team like that tho, id have jst givin them a break fo awhile and do some big comeback later.
a year later lod beatin up on rockers and challenge anyone, demos music comes on and they're back!
i loved singles crush tho and repo man was funny as hell!

LOD should've faced demolition at wrestlemania VII while power and glory should've faced tenryu and kitao.

The Smash/Crush Demolition could have been good, but once the ego centrical LOD signed with WWE the Powers of Pain had to be split, and Demolition was done after losing to LOD. LOD didn't want to many teams that looked like them with the face paint. Bill Eadie and Randy Colley were claiming they owned the Demolition name which was true because they were using the name on the independents.

It was just a bad combo of different factors with Ax having the seafood allergy which took it's toll at the time, Crush coming in and being absolutely awful and LOD coming in as the new, hot tag team. If Ax and Smash had continued as a team I can't see things being as bad as they had been with Smash and Crush. Smash and Crush also had no chemistry it seems which hurt a lot. It does suck the team, no matter who was a member lost to Tenryu and Kitao but I guess WWF had bigger plans with their foreign promotion relations but fans surely didn't care about Tenryu no matter when WWF brought him in. I would think the Orient Express would have been a better choice for the match since they could take a quick loss and no be affected. Demolition could have either squashed the Bushwhackers or taken a loss against the Rockers or LOD since neither of their feuds ever had a definite PPV or TV ending.

In real life Smash and Crush may not have had chemistry or been used well, but when I was a kid in my Hasbro fed I had, Smash and Crush were dominating everyone they faced! More so than when I used Ax and Smash together.

Without Ax the team was doomed. Realistically majority of tag teams dont work or have the same chemistry when you replace one of the members. Id much rather had them completely replace Ax and Smash with some randos like Crush & Hammer so not to devalue the run Ax & Smash as a team had.

Crush did have a cooler look than Ax, at least the Hasbro version. Crush and Smash look much cooler and more bad @$$ than Ax and Smash but in the ring it was totally different. Crush was a "once the bell rang" type of guy where it was all downhill. I said in his Brian Adams thread that I don't think he belonged in wrestling. A bouncer, bodyguard type of job would be ideal or if he was in the entertainment business he could definitely have a good career based on his look. But definitely don't let him talk or do any action, just be the silent hired gun type of character. Ax was in his early 40s when he started Demolition and he did look older but he never looked too old until his last PPV. He and Smash looked like they could roll right through any number of guys in WWF at the time.

Vince should have kept the Powers of Pain together and pushed them strong, to be LOD’s first victims (or at the very least Haku and Barbarian). This match can take place at SummerSlam 90. In the interim push power & Glory as a strong team vying for Demolitions belts. A number 1 contenders match between P&G and LOD takes place at SNME. LOD are the victors but are attacked by the three members of Demolition, who have been recruited by Mr Fuji to exact revenge on LOD for their destruction of the Powers of Pain.
Have both teams on opposite sides at Survivor Series and interact in the Royal Rumble. Have Animal and Hawk eliminate Ax and Smash but both members of LOD are eliminated by Crush. The Feb SNME is a title match between LOD and Ax and Crush, which ends in DQ when the ref sees Ax and Smash swapping places. Jack Tunney announces that the two teams will face each other at WM7, Demolition must decide which two members will face the Legion of Doom and the third member is banned from ringside. Furthermore, the losing team must break up.
WM7, LOD win the titles against Smash and Crush (should have mentioned Demo retained against the Hart Foundation). After the match, Crush blames his partner for the loss and both he and Fuji attack Smash and give him a beating, until Ax runs down and makes the save. Ax and Smash then receive a baby face send off, bringing the team to a satisfactory close.

Crush didn't need to do a thousand moves in the ring. I still liked his backbreaker.

I still don't know how 1993 Crush didn't have an IC Title reign. That year he was on fire, then boom! Heel turn and killed his momentum. He jobbed out to Savage, then he and Yoko jobbed out to the Headshrinkers and that was it for Crush, except that Rumble 95 spot he did. Didn't see the guy until late 1996 after that. By then he was just a good hand who could put talent over and that's pretty much what he did. His DOA run was cool but we all knew that group wasn't going to do much and they didn't.

I know JokerFC won’t be happy with this but I was never high on Demolition. And although I said in the other thread I really only cared for the Crush character as a part of Demolition I liked Demolition better as Ax and Smash. But to me I liked Ax and Smash better in their previous characters. Eadie I felt the Masked Superstar gimmick better and Darsow to me Krusher Kruschev was my favorite gimmick. I felt Demolition was a very poor man’s Road Warriors. The best thing about them was their music. Sure they (Ax and Smash) has some entertaining matches, but I never felt like they were the bad @$$ team they were portraying.

On paper that 1990 Survivor Series Match looks like one of the best matchups ever but instead it was really 1 on 4 as Demolition had already fallen out of the other guys level, sadly. My favorite team ever too. Watching Ax in that match (don't blink) is truly embarrassing on many levels.
