I recently read that Ricky Steamboat said he would loved to have wrestled against the likes of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. They would have been pretty awesome! I always seem to forget about Steamboat when thinking of fantasy/dream matches & I was thinking I would have loved to see him wrestle Mr Perfect, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle or Eddie Guerrero.
The nearest we got to a Mr Perfect match was a few months in 1991, when they were in WWF on opposing sides of the heel/feel spectrum, but Vince didn’t seem to want to promote Steamboat much. I would have booked a classic match at an MSG house show with Perfect winning clean with the Perfect-plex.
What do you guys think? Who would you like to have seen Ricky the Dragon Steamboat wrestle one on one realistically or randomly?

Hennig immediately comes to mind. Those two would've tore the house down.To quote Gorilla ''A main event anywhere in the country''.
He did face Bret in the 80s when Bret was a heel in the Foundation but I wish they wrestled when Bret was more established in the singles role.

Not sure if they ever faced each other but Dynamite Kid would be my first choice. Raymond or Jacques Rougeau would be another, however I don’t think it would ever be promoted as an equal standing lengthy match.

Kurt Angle was the first one to came to mind for me. I feel like he would have fit in well on the RA Smackdown roster back in 02-03. There were so many great workers back then. Angle, Guerrero, Rock, and young Brock Lesner. All of those would have been great matches. Bret Hart would have been a great match too had he been around in the New Gen era.

I'll throw another one out there...Ted DiBiase
I can picture them two having an excellent match.

Booker T would have been a good one too. Im not sure if they ever crossed paths in his early WCW days.

Definitely Bret, Shawn, and Perfect. I would also throw in Rick Martel, Dynamite Kid and Owen Hart as well. Did Steamboat ever face the Great Muta? If not, throw Muta's name on that list as well.

I know they had a match vs each other somewhere, but Bret Hart vs Ricky Steamboat should have happened at WM 2.
Did he ever wrestle Rick Martel? That would have been great. Same goes for Tito Santana. That would have been the ultimate babyface battle.

Ha ha ha I saw Tito Santana do an arm drag on Big Boss Man at Survivor Series ‘89. That’s the biggest guy taking an arm drag that I remember seeing. I used to play the WrestleFest arcade game as a teen and always tried to get Mr Perfect to hit Earthquake with the Perfect-Plex as I knew he probably couldn’t do it in real life. It looked awesome when I finally did it!

Now that is very interesting! I remember the match against Vader. Steamboat lost by count out. I think Vader was WCW champ and it was some kind of tournament match!?

Same goes for Tito Santana. That would have been the ultimate babyface battle. He said he wrestled a basic match against Bret once, but wished they could have had one on a bigger stage. Not sure about Martel, I’m sure they would have meshed nicely & as for Tito Santana, that would have been an arm drag fest! Funnily enough I had my Hasbro figures of The Dragon & El Matador as a mid level tag team.
