Can’t blame her for not wanting to risk her health. Can’t blame them for letting her go either. Sucky situation all around.

It sounds like her contract had either already expired or was up at the end of the month. So I think the 'released' term is a bit of grandstanding.
But as someone who has been a big Tessa fan throughout, yeesh. I get safety and travel issues, but this can't be a good look if she's expecting to sign elsewhere. Especially in the US.
I'd like to hear side. But it seems like a pretty terrible way to end things with a company that booked her to look like a star. Maybe she's ok with just staying in Mexico and working there moving forward. But this sure seems like a good way to torpedo a world of potential. Really hope Tessa doesn't end up in Austin Aries/Low Ki territory of "what could have been if they stayed out of their own way."

It sounds like they asked her to film promos and send them in and she wouldn’t do it, they asked her to do a Skype with Josh Matthews and she wouldn’t do that either.

I admittedly don't follow a lot of what's happening on Impact these days, but I have had my eye on Tessa as she really does have a lot of talent. With that said, it seems more and more that she has quite the ego. I'm also curious to hear her side though.
Very odd that she wouldn't at least be willing to record promos or conduct a Skype interview while being the company's world champion. As talented as she is, it makes me wonder if the juice is worth the squeeze considering her recent controversies.

From all accounts I've heard, and from those who have worked shows with her, Tessa really is a word that women will smack you for saying. See likes to see Tuesdays. With that being said, I wonder if WWE would try to get her, even though they have the better women's division, I don't think so. Her attitude won't fly there. AEW would most likely sign her, her dad is there, maybe he can reign her in. But whoever she signs with better have that leash short on her.

PW Insider is reporting that her deal was set to expire before the PPV, and that they were negotiating to have her appear. I have a feeling that there's enough blame to go around.
I'm assuming if Tessa has broken off contact, she had something in the works with another company, whether in the US or Mexico. Bad press isn't a good look for her or whoever might want to hire her. And even if her deal expired, I think the right thing would be to drop the title when the company did nothing but present her as a star over the past two years and stuck behind her.
At the same time, Anthem have pulled their fair share of carny stuff. And even with the pandemic, they should have done anything and everything to get the title off of her ASAP if her contract was set to expire and they didn't have additional dates in writing. So I'm not ready to take their press release at face value.
I'm going to wait and see what comes out. But I think no matter how you cut it, it would have been in Tessa's best interest to drop the belt and move on.

She's going to only find work in Mexico. Good thing she lives there with Daga.

Should have never put the World Title on her,and for that matter no promotion should ever put a mens title on a women and vice versa. With that said she's a hell of a talent and one of the better women's wrestlers around today but seem that she's more of a headache and issue to deal with then what its worth similar to Alberto Del Rio,Low Ki,Austin Aries...ect

Just saw news from Meltzer pretty much backing this, stating Tessa told Impact she had no intention of traveling out of Mexico for Slammiversary (both because of possible travel restrictions and her contract) but apparently they kept promoting her and pushing for some agreement. wrestlingnews.co/impact-wrestling/report-impact-wrestling-knew-tessa-blanchard-was-never-going-to-appear-on-slammiversary-but-they-continued-to-advertise-her/

It feels like they're fighting tooth and nail to stay afloat.

*card subject to change lol I really hope her leaving makes Impact better. It feels like they're fighting tooth and nail to stay afloat. I don't think Tessa leaving makes the company stronger any way you cut it. She's been a focal point of the product for almost 2 years, and has legit star power. But it's pretty clear that she was moving on regardless. But I also think they'll be in good shape. Anthem is clearly behind the product, and seems willing to spend money. It's looking likely that EC3 and Gallows and Anderson are on their way in. Their women's division is, for my money, the best going right now and has been for some time. They have a strong tag division. And maybe most importantly, they've shown time and time again that they're able to reset the roster, build new talent, and keep on trucking. I was and am a big fan of Tessa's, and really enjoyed the story they told. But I'm also super excited for this next chapter, and think there's some room for the product to grow whenever live shows return.

But her natural charisma and in-ring style have made her my favorite wrestler going today. At 24, I think the sky's the limit. I don't think they had a choice from a storytelling perspective, but she didn't work well as face imo. She's a great natural heel.
