Wrestling themes with sirens or heart rate monitors that flat line. I think it worked for Tazz’ debut but that’s it.

Ratings. WHO CARES! They were a story ONCE. Back in the RAW vs Nitro days when they'd pull 5s. Since then ratings have no where neared those numbers and never will again. But sites still talk about ratings. And the worst is fans of a certain promotion bringing up ratings as a way to think their brand is better. Why can't we just be wrestling fans and like wrestling? Also, just ragging on another brand to begin with. I don't like RAW and Smackdown as much as other brands but damn ... I'm not going to sit here and rag on a show and tout how "my show" was better. It's insane. The WZ boards for example ... a cesspool. My favorite is when they go on about ratings dropping, yet it's still the top 3 most viewed show on cable television that night. Like clearly if ratings were as bad as people were acting they were, WWE would be at the bottom of those top 20 shows of the day, as every other show should keep their same viewership too and not drop, right?

1. What chants 2. This is awesome chants 3. You still got it chants 4. Kicking out of finishers 4B. Multiple false finishes 5. Group of wrestlers standing around outside the ring waiting to catch someone jumping onto them 6. Beat the clock or gauntlet matches to determine #1 contender 6B. Any segment where a group of random guys come out demanding a title match and they all get thrown into multi person match to determine #1 contender

Signs.
First off, we watching TV can only read maybe 5% of those signs during action. And when the show starts and 5,000 of you hold up a sign during the pan, guess how many we can read? Not many.
Also to the "funny guy": yes, we see your "funny" sign. No need to hold it up 319891827 times as you watch the Titan Tron for the camera angle.

Seeing this on Raw reminded me that I don’t understand it. Reversing a crossbody into a pin attempt. How does rolling through the move do anything to the opponent that would cause them to not kick out of a pin attempt? It’s not like they’re applying any kind of special roll-up, cradle, school boy, etc type of pin.

Wrestlers that are supposed to be badasses all of a sudden become cowards once they turn heel.
Badass heels becoming comedic goofballs after turning babyface
Edgy heels who become babyfaces because of fan popularity and all of a sudden they’re wholesome characters after face turn.
Guys getting over organically but are held back because it wasn’t planned for them to be over. Money be damned.
Scripted promos. Surprisingly I didn’t mention this in previous posts.

I think you could put a strong argument that your first four annoyances in that list are very very directly tied to the 5th one on that list.

I think you could put a strong argument that your first four annoyances in that list are very very directly tied to the 5th one on that list. How so? I'm thinking of things like how Becky got super over as "The Man" and then they suddenly wrote all her promos to make her sound like the wimpy underdog babyface again, etc. I know some of those things aren't 100% scripted promo based, like how they iced Ryder, etc, but the basis is exactly the same as the scripted promos. They have the story they want to write, and if you get yourself more over than you were supposed to, or if your character takes off in a way they didn't expect, they're just going to write it back to how they wanted rather than letting it grow organically. I guess what I mean is that I think the culture that leads to scripted promos is the same culture that leads to the other four. Perhaps I could have phrased it better by saying I think all of those things are rooted in the same core issue, which is probably more accurate now that I think a bit more about it.

Pins.
Look, the goal is to not get pinned. EVERY wrestler should be kicking out at ONE or at least squirming around. 99% of pins the "pinned" lays there motionless until 2 and a half before they kick out. Plain stupid.

Gotta conserve energy and if you know you're kicking out at 1, then why not rest for the extra second?

I just thought of another one... When the ref slides to make a count, but conveniently slides close to the ropes, or even has his feet under the ropes - just so the heel on the outside can drag him out, thus breaking the count. Also wrestlers laying apparently unconcious/immobilised, always making it back into the ring on 9/9.5. These two are another couple of contrived situations, which largely give away the outcome of the match.

When commentary used to be good and help tell the story going on in the ring they would sometimes explain that the wrestler would wait to kick out just to get that extra second of a breather. That reminds me of another annoyance and that’s how bad commentary has gotten.

Holding the tights or using the ropes to cheat during a pin. COME ON. That sooo wouldn't work in real life.

TBH reading through this thread just exposes how silly wrestling is when you begin to apply any sort of rationale to it. It's why I chuckle when people claim certain wrestlers or wrestling "ruins the business". Maybe that's another one of my pet peeves.

When The Gangstas theme would play during their entire match.

When The Gangstas theme would play during their entire match. Worse is the canned music they play over Natural Born Killas on the Network.

The length of time it takes wrestlers to climb two rungs of a ladder. It defies logic, ing book it up that ladder and you win. But taking so long to build "suspense", it looks ridiculous.
