I guess he could align himself with Jericho, but that still doesn't scream heel to me. The new 4 Horsemen tease isn't much of a heel thing either as they would be super over. He was successful as a heel in the Bullet Club but that was a different promotion and culture. In other words, at least at this point in AEW storytelling, I don't think you can turn him heel.

Attack his brother? Kayfabe attack his wife? Now you're getting somewhere.

If you're going for the mega MJF style heel then yeah that's absolutely the way to do it.

Personally I'd rather Cody in more of a tweener heel type situation, which is where I think it's heading. The new 4 horsemen would be over a.f., but ultimately would act as a heel to some and a face to others. The whole story with the new horsemen (be it hangman or spears it works either way) would be old school vs. new school essentially. 'Flippy indie darlings' vs. 'old school wrasslin'. As someone who immensely enjoys both those types of wrestling I'd be all over that feud having the time of my life lol. Bullet Club was also over a.f. and still very much a heel group. Though, as was pointed out, different promotion and culture which for sure affects that.

Watching some old dynamites Cody has done so many little heel things, we just keep cheering him for it haha. FTR is technically operating like a heel group, but I'm cheering for them every step of the way. I like those types of heels. I loved Jesse Ventura on commentary, and two of my favourites as a kid were Mr. Perfect and Ted DeBiase. Heel Cody to me works best in that type of a heel role, rather than a MJF absolute scumbag heel role.

Also, the Darby costing Cage thing makes perfect sense, but god I hope it's wrong. I'll be so choked if that match ends up in a screwjob finish.

If they're going to run the 4 Horsemen, Hangman has to be the 4th. I'd be bummed if it's Spears.

Ratings came in. 715k total which is down, but .29 in demo which was up (.01 but hey still counts lol.). Finished 7th overall. Given the title match was rescheduled I'd say that's still pretty darn good. I'm excited to see the quarter breakdowns when they become available, same with Canadian ratings. (I know no one cares but I'm a numbers geek I like finding out 🤓

I feel that though Hangman fits the horsemen, Spears NEEDS it. he’s in a crap or get off the toilet situation.

Spears is on Dark where he belongs. He was RED HOT after the chair spot with Cody and did nothing with it. As far as in ring goes, he peaks at 3 stars. He’s an undercard guy.

Spears is spearing the hot one from the iiconics, can't feel too sorry for him.
