Just curious as True Fx is not stamped on basic packaging does Mattel implement the feature on the basic figures? If not its interesting how most fix ups on Elite figures involve swapping heads with Basics. Personally I like the older scans on the figures without the Tru FX.

I feel like with basics, they're able to pump out more due to it being a much cheaper line compared to elites where they have to spend more money on details since it's more aimed towards collectors. Maybe that's why they don't put the stamp on the basics? Maybe because the basics doesn't have much room to put the True FX stamp on it? I don't know.
True FX is really a hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes is absolutely terrible.
Johnny Gargano (both of the basic and elite), Adam Cole (both elites), and Roman Reigns (basic with the smiling head sculpt) are some fine examples of really good ones whereas the WM 35 Mick Foley (easily the worst TrueFX scan to date), E75 Jeff Hardy (just something about it that seems off to which I can't really point out. Maybe it's the jaw or something, but it's really bad considering how good the rest of the figure is neck down), and E65 Nikki Cross (especially her since her concept art that was shown during SDCC 2018 was so much better) are some examples of really terrible ones.

E74 Natalya has a claim for being maybe the best one they’ve done. I really like the E64/first Top Picks Rollins scan. I’m not into the current one they’ve used for E75 and the newest Top Picks, I hope they either make a new one or go back to the one I like.
Overall, the amazing/great/good WAY outweighs the not so good/bad ones. But when there are bad ones it gets harped on a lot and I think it gets exaggerated how often bad ones come around.

That has nothing to do with true FX. The face printing is fine it’s the hair piece that was used that’s the issue with that figure.

If the true FX paint was in a burning orphanage, I would pie-face children to the ground to to save it. I love it and I think it kind of loves me too. So back off.

True FX does come on basic figures as well. Honestly True FX is still hit or miss just like the old style painting was. One of the best examples is the Bliss/Banks two pack. Bliss paint is absolutely perfect and Ive swapped that head on most figures....however her 2 True FX heads, one is mediocre at best and the other is just ing awful.

I thought the FX turned out great on it.

I think Bill or Steve said the True FX printing is actually cheaper than the normal paint app. I don't pay a ton of attention to the basics beyond those that I want to buy, but I think they've been using it for some time now for basic lines.
Some look better than others, but overall I'm a big fan.

I think the true FX turned out pretty poorly on the last two basic Triple H figure’s eyes. The Elite head the eyes were perfect yet on the basics using the same head it looks like he’s wearing a ton of eye liner or something.

I can’t tell the difference - maybe my eyesight is bad or maybe it’s just not that noticeable
Some true fx look great, others shocking. The same as previous scans and sculpts

In what series exactly did the True FX start? It officially started with elite series 63 but they first starting testing it here and there with series 54.

If you were to completely take the hair off, come up to me and try and tell me who that person is, I would tell you that have no idea who that even is and just don't care about it.

It doesn’t even look like the same head as the original! Amazing what a difference the hair makes

We were talking about Mattel just using straight up TrueFX for head scans. Of course fix ups are going to be better. Do I think that looks better than the original? Sure. I still think that Jakks had the better head sculpt in terms of Cactus Jack. Now with that being said, I have to disagree with you disagreeing with my strongly disagree, but if you like it, I'm not arguing. You have your own opinion and I have mine

You have your own opinion and I have mine But the True FX is only the facial features not the head/hair which is what I was saying. I think the face was damn near perfect, but ruined in people’s eyes because they couldn’t get past the hair. If it came with the hair that marino13 gave it you couldn’t say the face doesn’t look like Foley. Now I have to disagree with your disagreeing of my disagreeing to you strongly disagreeing. (I think I got that right . ) but you’re right we all have our own opinions.
