I think the B100 HBK head is one of the best since Mattel got the license. Edge though has had some of the worst. Other than the first RSC figure that came with the Rated R belt that looked nothing like him, Edge hasnt had a new head sculpt since Elite 13. It's honestly wild to me that Edge has had so few elites.

Agree with Hogan and Savage, I haven't seen one from Mattel that turned out well. Jakks got Hogan down a few times, especially the Ringside Rebels figure. It's a shame Savage always looks bad.
I'm glad so many people pointed out Bret Hart as a likeness that was never captured by Mattel. I don't think anyone has gotten his likeness down in any 3d sculpture.
I think it's difficult for sculptors to capture Bret's likeness because of the lack of really good reference pictures of him (I've done hours of research for custom sculpts of Bret that I've commissioned over the years, I'm pretty obsessed with this lol). He looks different in every picture. I think the major stumbling block is that he has a very asymentrical nose. He has a flattened left side of his nose and his nostrils are completely different shapes which makes him not "look like himself" in pictures at certain angles if that makes sense (he never takes pictures straight on, always from an angle, his straight on pics has his hair all over his face and nose). This really throws off his likeness in sculpts because sculptors always make both sides of his nose the exactly the same. So if the sculptor doesn't know who Bret is, they don't really have a sense of what he should look like and they base it on these misleading pictures (seriously look at his raw or nitro interviews and then his studio pictures, he doesn't look like the same person) so the likeness will always be off. Harrison Ford had this problem for years with toys, sculptors always made his nose symetrical but he had a broken nose and has a severely asymentrical nose (there's been some great custom sculpts of Ford that figured this out and the likeness was awesome).
I think Randy is a similar situation in terms of bad reference pics which is what people base their sculpts off. You can't find multiple clear angles of Randy without his shades. I commissioned a Randy sculpt years ago and used screenshots from one of his promos leading up to Wrestlemania 4 and it turned out well. I don't think sculptors are doing this for Randy instead I have a feeling the sculptors are using reference from the internet for Randy which is why a lot of times they get his mouth and beard down but not his eyes since he's always wearing large glasses in his pictures .

Shawn Michaels. I don;t like a single Michaels figure. I don't think they got his likeness right in the face or body. Check out Basic 100 buddy. I LOVE that scan. The Austin from that series and cena had amazing scans also.

Kevin Von Erich looks NOTHING like him. I know what they were going for, but they didn't nail it. He looks old and tired. Speaking of which, flashback Flairs, especially the DM, all look too old. The video games have the same issue. I'm sorry, Bundy looks nothing like he should. If you popped the head off and saw it without the body and singlet, you'd be hard pressed to ID it. They haven't really nailed a long haired 94-95 Taker Becky has always been close but no cigar Becky's newest elite (Not UE) is top notch imo Personally, I think the BP66 is even better. It's the same face, I believe, but with the hair pulled back she looks downright intense. The B109 however, did NOT work. I get what they were going for, but it didn't work at all with the TrueFX. For that to work, they would have had to do a regular paint job. The TFX makes it look too blurry/faint.

Good analysis on all of these sculpts. Savage never seems to bother me as his glasses take up most of his face as does the beard. The flashiness of his outfits make the figures work for me. I would like one figure with disheveled hair and the crazy eyes look. The wide eyed savage look with no sunglasses like he is accusing hogan of lusting in his eyes or angry at Jake the snake that is very iconic. Same deal with bret hart with the sunglasses but would be nice to have a really good sculpt of his without glasses.

Hulk hogan. This seems a given for such an iconic appearance. I just feel like the mattel hogan figures so far dont look right. They haven't captured his facial expressions or the tan and hair color and presence of hogans face. Agree completely... especially about the tan. His mattel figures the first go around were much too light skin and it was pretty noticeable. The right tan and hair color tweaks would go a long way.

Back in the day, I feel like Ted Dibiase Jr's scan didn't quite resemble him
