I wish AEW would have followed through with the idea of having a bunch of international partner promotions. All In had so many great cross promotional matches. I'd love to see that again. Reminds me of WCW/NJPW in the 90s. Yeah. So many names and promotions that would benefit from the exposure on a global scale. Konnan said they realized they bit off more than they expected starting a new promotion, so things sort of were on pause with AAA. And that Chinese promotion folded I think. But love the idea post-pandemic.

Just that smooth elevated powerslam. Love it.

That's the first time I've ever seen a rope wiper.
Taking a swipe at the height cheats lol

Cage was a big deal in Impact at this point, right? Takes some brass to do that.
Always hated that Colt didn't get that.

I find SCU waaaay more interesting in AEW than they were in ROH. I like them better as heels. The “worst town I’ve ever been in” shtick doesn’t work for me as babyfaces. Not that they go into it much in AEW, but I feel like that really only works for heels. Even if they’re cheered for it. So while I still like them in AEW, I wish they would’ve done their thing as heels in AEW.

The SCU guys are so good at being a heel group. Their AEW run has felt odd to me.

i forgot about the scu rocky skits on bte.i really enjoyed those! so cool they went all in with the gear too.
really fun opening tag match! scu got a ton of cool spots in and were so over. briscoes worked pretty well as heels too but didn't do anything overly impressive.
i remember LOVING the over the budget battle royal before. hopefully it's still as enjoyable as before.
alicia atout! my heart. 😍

god i love everything about jordynne grace. her being in that match was one of my favorite parts about it. it was still just as fun as i thought and they did a great job with the ending. i knew chico/flip won going into it but so much happened that it made me forget until bully was the last man standing.
such good sh*t.

aew needs to sign matt cross like yesterday. he's incredible in the ring. i can't think of anyone else that works his style so comfortably. fenix is one of the best, but cross has him beat as far as pacing goes. you don't have to move 100 mph to do aerial spots. christ almighty, the sasuke special is one of the coolest moves i have ever seen.
i didn't know my boy curt hawkins trained mjf. that makes me an even bigger fan, haha. this was almost 2 years ago and mjf was/still is the best heel in the business, no doubt.
i NEED a rematch of this one asap.

daniels/amell imo over-delivered. i couldn't recall it being anything special going into it but there was some good stuff in there! amell didn't look like a complete fool and looked pretty good for someone with as little experience as he has. daniels is such an indy legend...criminally underrated. i will always love seeing jerry lynn in any capacity. the coast to coast was ballsy but cool! i also enjoyed fallen angel luring amell into the table dive, and the curry man dance. not a barn burner but a damn fine match for what it was. tenille and mandy and britt and chelsea and tessa, GEEEEEEEZ <3333 i remember this one being off the ing chain besides the botched finish. even then, that didn't take away much if at all for me then or this time around. personally, i think it sucks that chelsea is with wwe bc 1. i don't watch that crap anymore, and 2. she could do big things in/for aew's women's division. shes's one of my favorites and i loved the hot mess. i've voiced my opinion on tessa enough by now that most of wf should know how bad i want her in aew. legitimately one of if not the best female wrestlers today. i love britt's character work and she's beautiful, but her in-ring work leaves more to be desired. somehow she looked less awkward here than she does now during matches, and the use of ac BAYBAY's old theme was a sweet nod. madison rayne? BIG eh for me. she wasn't very good when i first saw her in impact and hardly improved as the years went on. she's okay i guess, but with so many years of experience she should be so much better by this point. but instead, she stays botching at least once a match and never impressed me. tessa winning was the right call; she's just SO DAMN GOOD. i got goosebumps 4 or 5 times in this one and so far has been the standout match of the night. didn't it get big time praise when it first happened? much deserved if so. masa being referred to as fat ass masa continues to crack me up every single time. cody/aldis was such a huge deal for me as i was a BIG cody mark here. i followed it everywhere it went during it's time from beginning to end. really loved the entire feud and all the build up to this. cody's entrance was SO intense and the look on his face gave me chills. great touch with the fight camps too, made the match seem even bigger than it already was. i genuinely shed tears when cody won the first time i watched this. (side note: brandi looked HOT AF on this night.) i was certain after the anti-air punch that cody was going to rocking the crimson mask (bc cody bleeding in big matches is the meme) but surprisingly he just looked dazed instead. diamond cutter spot was neat and the crowd LOVED that chit. ohp, there's the blood lol. i don't much like him, but i'll give credit where it's due, aldis gets props for that avalanche fallaway slam and for hitting a piledriver... two of my favorite moves. and dat elbow to brandi, WHAT A HEEL LOL. failed vertebreaker attempt hurt me but i couldn't help but smile from ear to ear with that surprise pin. such a good match! though i'd still put cody vs dustin at number one, this is a solid number two as far as his best matches go. and this is where i stop for the night. instead of spamming the thread by myself, i'll wait til tomorrow to watch the rest lol. ps. cody's post match stuff still shot me right in the god dang heart.
