If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it’s a duck.
If, to get figures produced for a client base (let’s call the client base a ‘crowd’) they need money up front (lets call that ‘funds’) then the act of putting up a promise of future goods in return for funding that is crowd funding
Mattel put up a ring and entrance set. They said if there’s enough people willing to pay upfront to fund it and make it viable to produce at a profit margin they want then they will ut it in production and make it. They announced it as crowdfunding snd thanked everyone who funded it for making it happen.
I could be wrong but I think some companies may use pre order because crowd funding has negative connotations, such as o guarantee it will be made and reach targets etc. realistically if one of these companies received 5 pre orders then a figure would not go into production. It’s, imo essentially a crowd funding model

Im at a point where id rather wait til something comes out, see it for what it actually is and Then put down my money, even if that means waiting for a second run as opposed to slapping down cash and waiting a year or more. No more fomo.

No more fomo. I can see that, I've already bought the bWo and Haku/Tanga set, and am waiting for blue Stacks, Daddy, Al Snow and Gangrel (still waiting on Luna pre-order) because on the whole, I've been impressed with Chella's output so far
yeah, the Aldis and earlier Mind of the Meanie sets weren't the best (in comparison to the design quality of Mattel's figures and even a couple of ZST's) but they have improved, and their recent releases have been really good in my view
I just hope that Snow and Daddy won't be a last minute let down from their prototypes/promos to date because they look good so far!

No more fomo. I’ve picked stuff up secondary which is the same or cheaper than getting directly and with how international post has been lately seems to be a better option

The line has lost so much momentum and I'm not excited anymore to see new names being announced for waves that are probably gonna arrive when I'm collecting my pension.

Yeah, I was hoping they'd reply to my refund request so I could put that money in PowerTown instead. Haven't heard back and I sent it two weeks ago...

Same here, I've asked for a refund on all 4 of my pre-orders and heard nothing back. I'm guessing a few people have requested refunds on multiple figures, which I suppose could be a problem for them to sort out. Dynamite and blue Haystacks were scheduled for April, we're nearly in October. I think I recall reading that the'88 Dynamite was supposed to be getting sent out last month, but I've not seen mine, and I ordered him individually, which, from what I read, were the orders being sent out. Maybe I'll get a little bit of enthusiasm back when they finally arrive in 2025.

I'm just lost at how Wrestling Trader seem to be involved with sending orders out for them, if anything I'd rather he sold the business to Wrestling Trader as they seem to get there craptogether and answer people plus sending out things as promised....

Decided I'm just going to repeatedly reach out to them every week until I get some form of acknowledgement about my refund request. It's not even strictly about Chella, I'm off the idea of retros. Even considerinng my Mattel ones.

I've messaged them for an update today on a couple of outstanding orders, but given the last update they shared, they're not going to give ETAs or dates which is frustrating for those still waiting to hear about the stuff we've paid for

I've messaged them for an update today on a couple of outstanding orders, but given the last update they shared, they're not going to give ETAs or dates which is frustrating for those still waiting to hear about the stuff we've paid for It's piss-poor customer service, no matter how they try and spin it. It doesn't matter what issues they're having in their personal lives, as they've knowingly entered into a business, taken people's money, continue to make new deals, post about them on their media channels, and ignore the multiple messages from customers they've already been cashing cheques from. What's stopping the folks handling their media channels from replying to literally any of the messages they've been sent? What's stopping them from posting on here? Absolutely nothing. It's just piss-poor customer service, whether they're really nice people or not, ZST gets called out for his shoddy workmanship, and so should Chella, despite the fact that some mods seem to get really emotional when people discuss it. Anyone can go back through this thread and see that I've been nothing but supportive of Chella along the way, but they've just completely dropped the ball at this point and aren't doing anything to really alleviate the frustrations that a lot of people are having. Just one member of their team updating their website once a fortnight would suffice for me. If the figures are nowhere near being done, just offer refunds.

Unless I'm missing something, quite interesting that neither of those two reveals mention Chella. I wonder whether they've stepped aside on future releases and fully handed the reigns to Wrestling Trader.

Wow, these are great..love the Killer Bees.. All wants for me, however Chella are incredibly slow with the orders.. Still waiting for Adam Bomb, Haystacks, Big Daddy.. I've actually forgotten what I've ordered! In other news, wave 2 are stuck at my post office depot until Monday.. I can't wait..
