I think soft goods are fine, in moderation. It’s kind of fitting since the Berzerker did have his soft goods cloak. I think, generally, I’m a fan of accessories on retro style figures in small doses. That's what people always point to, Berzerker and Taker's cloaks, but I look at it this way, Hasbro took a cost cutting approach post S4, up until that point they very rarely reused molds, and whenever something should have been molded it was, no painting over singlets, painting singlets over bare torsos etc. Series 5 forward we saw tons of reused molds and I don't think had they stuck to the quality of S1-S4 we'd of seen Berzerker with the soft goods, or Taker with a soft goods cloak, I think they'd of come up with new molds instead of just slapping an accessory on an existing body. Those are good points. I truly wonder what the budgeting discussion was like for the Series 8 Undertaker. Was it really cheaper to make all of those coats as opposed to making a small urn? Maybe they felt that wouldn’t have been kid appropriate? Maybe Steve can help answer this. I prefer hard goods myself but also hated not being able to take off wrestlers gear what I was a kid (especially hats). Doing a hard goods shirt for DDP would probably have been a lot harder to pull off (figuratively and literally) than the soft goods. I’m happy to have the choice even if it isn’t my favorite style.

Absolutely stoked to get this, especially since 3poajamie confirmed the arms will be sturdy. DDP totally works in this style. He looks amazing.

I am so happy that this is finally revealed, and my concerns about the choice for magnetic arms rather than standard pegs seem to be waning by the minute! I AM EXCITED TO FINALLY GET A DDP RETRO FIGURE!
I'm definitely buying 2 (like most people will) to have one posing, and one having a fight with Macho

Looks like the quality has gone up a lot since the takeover. Really impressed with that DDP.

Looks like the quality has gone up a lot since the takeover. Really impressed with that DDP. indeed, the quality has gone up, but that seems to be part of (based on listening to Luke speaking about it on 3POA) part of the reason why he wanted to buy the company - he could see the potential in the artwork that wasn't being realised, and knew there was a market for it
no-one can deny that Demolition, Powers of Pain, Greg Valentine and now DDP/Onita look to be far far superior to the previous quality put out under Chella
I absolutely love my Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks figures, they're great and think both are excellent representations of them! but I also see the likes of PoP and think "This is what we should have had from the start!!" and I'm glad I'm buying Bulldogs, they look like Dynamite and Davey and that's great, I just hope they're here soon LOL!
I wish Epic well with DDP, it looks like the sort of reveal we've needed - not a drawing or a prototype which looks nothing like the guy, we've seen a solid figure that looks like DDP, and has a lot of detail to it which sets it apart from the stuff that most other companies are putting out now, this could be a great reboot (which was needed!) for Epic to kick 2024 off strong

I’d be interested to know who Epic’s sculptor/ digital sculptor is, as the likenesses have really improved from some of the Chellas; whether it’s an individual or still someone at the factory in China (as it was with Chella, if I recall correctly).

The instagram link above from Chairshot is done by the sculptor, seriously impressive stuff coming up

I’m currently on ep 38 - the falling apart of Rush toys. I’m a fan of most of the banter that happens between Jamie and Daniel.

That interview seems like ages ago now, thanks for listening 🙌🏻 Epic do not want to put another pre-order up until they’ve delivered what’s outstanding (Bulldogs and Sabu) once delivered then DDP will go up. Will be very soon though

They obviously don’t want to show Bobby off until it’s ready for the public eye, it’s coming along very nicely though Can’t we please just see the half-baked version with obvious flaws and questionable parts? That way you can announce that you listened to the fans and made the changes and we can all be blown away when the final version is revealed? Only kidding, Mitch. I actually prefer it when a company releases those early images and takes constructive feedback. That said, I also prefer it when people do their best BEFORE releasing those early images.

That said, I also prefer it when people do their best BEFORE releasing those early images. agreed! this is what a professional company would do - their best attempts to get it ready for public view, then accept/respond to constructive criticism on the reveal
and this is where I believe Epic are setting themselves apart from the others now, they showed their hand with Greg Valentine and announced they'd make changes to make it a better figure (or in Kate's words, not release 'spit') and they've done it with DDP, they have shown the concept art already so they've spent their time getting the prototype ready and made it look as good as possible, BEFORE the reveal
I think DDP has given me the confidence that the likes of Heenan and co are in safe hands going forward

Is there a chance DDP will have 2 variant packs? One packaged with the white tape arms and the second with the black tape arms. Many of us will be getting 2 DDPs. But it'll be even better if both packs are different. Similar to what Jakks did with CS 12 Ultimate Warrior.

Sorry if answered previously but I didn’t see anything. Is there an ETA for POP/Demolition if ordered through Asylum? I know we were originally eyeing Christmas but understand things happen … what’s the latest?
