Gonna preorder today. US people who’ve ordered from both, which do you prefer, Asylum or Figure Collections?

So darn expensive. With shipping, It cost me $168 Canadian to get just Heenan and Guerrero. Maybe I’ll get Zhukov before the pre order ends. They are such amazing figures though. Epic is on a roll! FC was selling the figures for $5 less. I ordered Zhukov, Heenan and Onita and had them shipped to Stackry instead of my CAD address. Came to $170 CAD as FC has free shipping to the Stackry US address. But yeah, shipping is absolutely out of control. I really wanted the Lucha Legends Vampiro, when I added it to the cart it came to like $90 CAD. And it’s like that everywhere. Insane.

Asylum isn’t a bad store by any means but I’ve seen them charge more at times, have a crappy website, and their communication has been poor in my limited experience. I also feel like they don’t get shipments in as quickly as FC but that might be out of their hands. FC on the other hand has gone above and beyond with communication and their website is easy to use. My only complaint is that I wish there were more payment options. I don’t always keep money in my PayPal account but I do have a CC tied to it. If I didn’t, purchasing from there could be more challenging.

A retro from just about anywhere is a little over 100 canadian shipped. Then possibly 20 or 30 more with fees/duties. Story of my life here in Europe. Collecting since 1997 (mainly bought over the internet); shipping and fees/duties are worth an entire collection in itself... I hear ya! I’d love to have the money I spent the last 10 years or so in shipping fees and import fees!!! I think it would be enough send me to Vegas for a trip!

Even rsc is bananas now for shipping compared to what it used to be. I roughly dropped 3 or 4 thousand getting most of the aew figs when they came out first. Now i couldnt care less. But retros have always been my thing so it is what it is. I've basically given up on mattels. The qualities garbage compared to what it used to be and the cost is wild. If anything I'll wait until the cost comes down on 3 or 4 i want and getem at once

That doesn't make sense unless you're in like Newfoundland or something. To Toronto my Heenan and Boris cost $120 (I know crazy) - $40 per figure and another $40 for shipping, but I want to get it direct, I can't wait on any US-store delays.

I'm always hit with fees from Spain for some reason, on non figure related stuff that I buy. I've actually been lucky for a while ordering from beyond the UK. Literally this week I'd been hit with a customs fee on two t-shirts... They didn't even cost that much to begin with.

I understand why people have reservations about sending items to the UK, and that it's seldom their fault for the buyers getting taxed. I also understand why some UK buyers don't bother buying beyond the UK. Those Canadian and Australian charges are painful as well.

I'm sure this has been asked already, but I dunno if I saw an answer, but how long is the preorder window for series 3? I'm wondering how long I've got before I realistically can't order Onita and Guerrero.

Epic announced a deluxe edition coming 2025. In their comments/story they said it isn't Vader or 1991 Barbarian yet. Assuming its someone not announced, Haku or Road warriors but let the speculation begin

Epic said on 3POA a little while ago that a previous Chella figure would get the Deluxe treatment (the very next one maybe?) - if that's still on then I'd guess Bull Nakano would be the most obvious one from the original run, perhaps Nick Aldis if he's not under a WWE merchandise deal.
Otherwise I'd think the Road Warriors would be perfect for that sort of release, but it sounds like they'll go into the standard line rather than the deluxe.
I'm a little surprised they're not getting another out sooner than 2025 - if DDP is going to be in hands within the next couple of months then I'd think that would be an ideal time to generate excitement for the next one, but if it's going to be another 6 months at least then we risk getting into that familiar position of the excitement dying down.

So there are a few potential clues but nothing that feels like a dead giveaway. The smoke-like effect in the image is actually comprised of skulls and crossbones. The text is also made to look slightly dirty and textured. http://instagram.com/p/C74bFG1MMT6 I mean I guess you could throw out the idea of Faces of Fear Meng and/or Barbarian but there isn’t much meat on that bone.

The Deluxe line will be less often than the normal releases and saved for talent that need and deserve all the bells and whistles that a standard retro budget couldn’t contain

Papa Shango would be cool. He owns it apparently. Makes sense with the chain hat cape and stick
