A Bulldog Loob would be absolutely killer! I just hope they go with his WCW look/the cancelled Chella look. I’m not sure what poses Luke is looking to do (hopefully staying close to the originals). Bulldog would look incredible doing the Sting entrance gear double biceps pose, Barry Windham’s powerslam pose, or even the Luger figure as if looks very similar to the Chella WM drawing. Something like the Windham so he can do the powerslam, all day long! I’m in this camp! |

I think the detail is mostly there but the color between the painted studio photos and the most recent photo look very different. Lighting obviously plays a part but I am hoping it is slightly darker in person.  Great side by side. Thanks! You can clearly see that there is a deformation from proto to production. The production piece is way more stretched. I know that you always lose a little detail in the process, but that deformation shouldn’t happen. It’s a great proto but the production piece is not doing it justice - at least in these pics. I just went and looked at the pictures I took of the proto after I made it and I think the fact you're looking at it from 2 different angles makes it look different Action figure cellar did a front on picture in the original presentation which looks exactly like the production on the right. Painted resin under studio light will always look different to cast plastic under terrible lighting. From what I have seen people should be very happy with this figure |

I wanted to explain my thought process but I’m completely exhausted and probably communicating poorly: I didn’t use the front-facing photo you mentioned because it was heavily cropped. Epic no longer had the other images on their website or on their IG which is why the side profile pic was used. I tried to get the best resolution for the sake of transparency. For comparison photos, I prefer 1:1 but I had already spent more time than necessary trying to show that differences between figures was minimal. I didn’t realize the photos shared were from the factory. That being the case…maybe Epic shouldn’t be publishing them if they aren’t more flattering. I’m not bothered or offended by them; I’m just going off of the limited feedback we were seeing in real time. Something I personally struggle to balance is knowing just because people nitpick doesn’t necessarily make them their criticisms untrue. In this particular case, I color corrected the photo on the right in about 10 seconds. I believe the finished product will look more like the image on the right than the factory photo on the left. Nothing but light harted discussions here friend however I understand how things can be perceived in Internet town! 😁 The only reason I commented was because we see how things can spiral once something is said especially within the IWC. A big reason I am sure the sculpt is exactly the same is because unlike some other retro companies the prototypes I paint at 1:1 scale with what is made. You may lose a % or 2 in moulding but that wouldn't be enough for the eye to notice any difference I. The sculpt itself. When it comes to sharing the pictures I understand your view but it's a balancing act. In a world of "where is my figure" these pictures are used to service of how close they are to being completed more than anything else, especially when we all know how lighting makes things I have seen in hand natural lighting pictures of Eddie and it is phenomenal. I'd argue as WCW fan that it could be one of the best looking to date |

Notes of interest from the Q&A: -No news to give on Loobs. -A new Hayabusa seems to be planned. “The best is yet to come.” -No plans on making British Bulldog anytime soon. -New figure announcements will be made by the end of the month. -Series 3 needed more tweaks which caused unexpected delays. -One tweak was the color of Bobby Heenan’s jacket. -Killer Bees should be in stock in a couple months with no pre-order. A sneak peek at a series 4 figure was given. It appears to be Barry Windham:  I could be waayyyyyy off here.... but I keep looking at this thinking it might be something related to their Loobs line? Wasn't Vader dropped as a signed talent for that Loobs line? |

CMW Toys - Thank you for being understanding. I wasn’t trying to come at that situation in a way that sounded like “this is what companies should do.” My intention had been to point out a way to avoid some of these situations in the future if enough people are raising a stink about it. If it’s just 4-5 comments compared to hundreds of others saying they love it…it probably isn’t worth their time to change anything. In regards to the lighting and color, Epic hasn’t let me down with their finished products so they have earned my trust. But having seen so many factory issues (this one and others), nothing surprises me anymore. But in this instance, I was pretty darn sure it was just poor lighting. Scotty T. Ritz - not likely as they said right before this there were no updates to share with the Loobs line and the photo literally says series 4. Vader was signed for their WM (Hasbro style) line but it was hinted at during an interview that he could be a Deluxe figure. The glove shown in the photo above is somewhat similar to Vader’s fingerless gloves but he wasn’t really known for having the tape that you see.

I considered preordering that DDP just for the blue diamond shirt accessory, in the hopes it might fit on a Mattel DDP, but in the end I thought it was too much money for one accessory that might not even fit.
Still I'm looking forward to seeing loose pics whenever it comes out. Crazy Mattel hasn't made a DDP with the blue diamond shirt, it's so iconic.

Bit of a dark user name if it means what I think it does but at any rate, welcome and I hope you’re enjoying the retro figure world! I was absolutely wrong about Vader and the tape. When I made that comment, I did a quick GIS to double check and I didn’t see any. When I looked again after your comment, I saw several! From what I am seeing now, it only seems to be in his WWF run. The pics I’ve seen thus far also appear to after his biggest push was over. |
