My impression was the SDCC figure (Bastion Booger) would be going on sale during that week and will most likely be shipped before the end of the year.

I’m not in the guys head but for those complaining that Ryder appears biased because he points out one companies blunders more than another, do you think it could be because he thinks that companies blunders are more egregious? I know y’all wanna hate zst but he’s delivering figures faster than epic (not fast, but faster), zst’s communication has improved to the point of it being better than chella/epic, and the figures are better with fewer quality control concerns. To find criticism and comment about it equal to epic would be being biased towards epic because the number issues and their severity aren’t equal. One person reporting a paint error on a Sabu versus everyone’s bubble falling off should not warrant the same amount of criticism. he's still yet to produce a 2-pack he was advertising as "available soon" back in 2021. where is Series 2? we were told it would be quicker than Series 1. where did all of the money go from his "quarter million dollar" profit from Series 1?? surely reinvesting that in his business and doing away with the preorder model would have been a better use of funds? it's interesting you mention the Sabu figure which can't stand unaided unless the arms are precisely posed.... and all Josh did was repainted it and called it an "SDCC exclusive", he literally tried to polish a turd btw.... where is the SDCC '23 exclusive? when will that figure be in collectors hands? SDCC is in 3 weeks, will collectors receive their "exclusive" figure by then?
You’re talking about a two pack that hasn’t gone on sale yet. How can he deliver it if he hasn’t sold it? Series two will be in our hands in less time than it took for chella to deliver us series 2. Who ever said anything about a sdcc 23 exclusive? You’re inventing imaginary figures that have not gone on sale and complaining that he hasn’t given them to you yet. Nobody is criticizing epic for not delivering figures that they haven’t even sold. They have dozens of figures planned and nobody brings them up. That’s not the issue.

One person reporting a paint error on a Sabu versus everyone’s bubble falling off should not warrant the same amount of criticism. Let’s try and sort this out. Epic did not fully take over until late last year. It is unknown to me what role they have played in getting things produced prior to that official takeover. So it may not be fair to place full blame on them specifically for the QC issue experienced prior to that. Even if it had been, the same coverage of flaws were not given to Zombie’s figures and honestly I haven’t heard much negativity towards the recent WSW line or even Mattel’s retros. Opinions are fine but the issues that arose were deeper than that. Even if you believe something to be egregious, you should be conscious enough to see that very similar things are going on with other toy lines and to point your finger in one direction instead of several directions gives you the appearance of being unfair whether or not it was your intention. That is feedback worth taking a look at. The other line that was seemingly being crossed was outright attacking a company and insulting them for their actions (or lack their of) and then not providing all of the details. Since then we have learned more about the situation but Epic has yet to step in and discuss the matter openly. For all I know, Matt might be right in the end but the way he has gone about it really made me second-guess his morality in this particular situation. I say this because it was contradicting what he had said a number of times about wanting all of these companies to succeed. Obviously we know more now, Matt had explained himself better here than he did in a 20 second sound bite. There are still a lot of questions to be asked and hopefully answered in the future from all sides. Things here seem to have calmed down but things likely won’t change until there is a real development. TL;DR the scales of bias eventually reached their tipping point, there was justification for raising the issue and the questions, and things are starting to even out again (which I appreciate). I think you’ve kinda missed the point. The issues across the various companies may not be similar in terms of frequency or severity in his opinion and he may choose to cover only what he seems the most sever. I’m in agreement. I don’t think any other company has had nearly the number of issues as chella/epic. I’m not here to nitpick every single figure. I’m thoroughly satisfied with every zst figure I have. Same goes for mattel retros, powertown, junkshop, etc. I was dissatisfied with a couple of the chella figures I got. It sounds like you’d have me search for an issue with those other companies’ figures just so my complaining can be balanced. Nobody is gonna do that. “Unbiased” is not synonymous with “balanced”.

A lot of selective hearing regarding the MWFP guys and what they say.

Im a fan of MWFP, always found them fun to listen to, but to me it seems like Matt’s big problem with Epic is because he’s "friends" still haven’t got their IMPACT figures, and that’s clouding his judgement over the whole company. Am I right in saying that was a deal struck with Chella NOT Epic? If it was with Chella then it’s pretty obvious with the takeover that there would be problems and delays until Epic got the house in order no?
I still maintain Epic cannot really be judged until at least Series 2 is out, but even then not really until we have THEIR figures Powers of Pain and Demolition, let’s see how long it takes us to get them and how they are in hand, then we can judge fairly.
Who does everyone else think has made the best so far? Mattel’s efforts are pretty poor I think, don’t like the dull plastic look, heads too big, dull skin tones and some bad choices of leg stances. Wish they showed the love to Retros that they have to the Superstars line.
Zombies figures I think look amazing, I don’t have any yet but will definitely be diving in soon. My only criticism of them is that they are too detailed to stand next to Hasbros and the length of the arms just seems a bit off.
Chella - I think have that Hasbro look, the shiny plastic and more cartoony faces. But the Dynamite is way too tall and doesn’t scale well with Bulldog, even the Haystacks is a little too tall imo, I want my Andre Hasbro to still be the benchmark in height. I hope Epic have fixed this with Haku, I don’t want him standing as tall or taller than Andre.
Hastteltoys - Just going by the reviews online of Ahmed/Godfather they look like they fit well with Hasbros but it sounds like they’re made pretty cheaply, then I guess it doesn’t really matter once sat on a shelf.
Epic - Remains to be seen, but I cannot wait to have that Powers of Pain and Demoltion in hand. The PoP look the closest I’ve seen to Hasbros so far.

My big problem with Epic is being lied to by the owner. I spoke with him on phone in October (with Impact representative) to see what was up with the Impact figs because it had months since the concept art was shown. I asked if they’d be able to handle doing these figures due to the takeover from Chella. I asked questions like how are these figures realistically coming out in a timely fashion when there is already such a long list of figures that Chella failed to make? I was told prototypes would be done by December and finish product early 2023. The prototypes were “finished” in late June…and they aren’t good.

Your hypothetical isn’t really applicable to this situation. It’s not hypothetical. Have you asked him his opinion of the quality of the other companies’ figures and his level of satisfaction with their businesses? You want him to fabricate a story about them having issues that maybe just isn’t actual in his experience. How he reports on these respective companies is probably very intentional because there’s nothing to have to give a pass to with those other companies. Only one company has these severe issues. It’s epic. All the other companies just deserve praise. Ever think maybe you’re the one who’s biased? Everyone here who’s from the UK clearly root for epic and are biased. Are you from the uk?

You are very much coming across as biased in an odd fashion. Stating “it’s not hypocritical” and then following it up with another hypocritical is borderline low-tier trolling. I am going to respond to this, let you have the last word, and then I am done going back and forth with you. You aren’t saying anything that is adding to the conversation, nor does it appear you have been reading this thread with and real focus. Anything beyond that exchange on either of our ends will be counterproductive to this thread. What some of us are basing our opinions on are the actions of the MWFP. I don’t have to ask because they are the ones telling us. That is what has been the heart of the issue. Matt is also here and has been sharing his opinion which is why your post seems to lack any logic. There are exceptions to every point you have tried to make and some of it is flat out wrong. I can pick it apart but there honestly doesn’t seem to be that voice of reason with you so why bother? My suggestion is to spend some time educating yourself on the matter by jumping back about 20 pages and getting yourself up to speed. If that doesn’t sway your opinion in any way then perhaps nothing will which is why I prefer to end this conversation with you once you have had a chance to reply. And no, I am from the United States. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, spent ~10 years in Southern California, currently residing in a wonderful home roughly an hour outside of Minneapolis. I believe the others you are mentioning are from England, Ireland, and Belgium. All wonderful places to visit if you haven’t done so already.

You said “hypocritical” several times when I assume you meant “hypothetical” but again, nothing is hypothetical since to your point (and the one I was making using sarcasm making believe his opinion wasn’t abundantly clear) he has stated his opinion in no uncertain terms. You don’t agree with his opinion. It’s different from yours but that doesn’t make it biased. If he says that he is aware of qc concerns with other figures but has deemed them typical and therefore not worth mentioning, why can’t you accept that? That’s not what bias is. He provided a logical explanation for why he’s formed the opinions he has. You still don’t have to agree but him doing as you suggest would be totally illogical. I suggested that perhaps you were biased but believe it or not, two people can having differing opinions and both be unbiased.

One person reporting a paint error on a Sabu versus everyone’s bubble falling off should not warrant the same amount of criticism. I've skipped through all the nonsense and just just wanted to say you had me up until the Sabu vs Bubble take. In realty ZST Sabu can't stand up. We were told to take a hairdryer to it. He released a repaint without fixing the standing issue vs bubbles on some figs from the previous company, were replaced and since fixed. Just to be fair.

Just to be fair. exactly this - blaming Epic for Chella's F ups is just clutching at straws
now look at ZST - the guy who proclaimed his figures are for collectors (not toys) and was so excited that he was providing the highest quality figures possible, for collectors to enjoy, is also the same guy who posts disclaimers saying that the card quality may be damaged by the time a collector receives it, and it's not his fault.
well..... it's ZST's own company, surely he would be able to protect the packaging for his own figures in transit by packing them properly, and ensuring his contract with the factories includes a clause to ensure figures are correctly packaged for onward distribution rather than just shipped in a large box and at risk of card damage or bending etc? I mean, if ANYONE is aware of how collectors deem cards/packaging to be part of the overall quality of the figure, and are paying upwards of $50 each, they'd expect to receive each figure in the best possible quality.
yet he can't.
meanwhile Epic have actually gone out of their way to make good for their customers who received sub-standard packaging, as a result of the Adam Bomb and Haystacks/Daddy fiasco with cards damaged in transit. Epic seem to be focusing more on their customers than ZST is at this point.

This biggest issue with all companies - and I am surprised nobody ever mentioned this before - is that noone has signed the Beverly Brothers to a figure deal yet. We need Beverly Brothers in retro form.

‘The craps’ they may have been - but a part of the Hasbro era nonetheless! 😂

then again, the Bushwackers got both a tag team pack and a series filler re-release.... and they were worse than the Beverlys

Either he is just showing it off or teasing another missing piece the Hasbro left out!
