Epic’s new website and photos/graphics are hands-down the best out there. Sure there are some minor things they could change but it does a great job of focusing on the products! Hats off to Action Figure Cellar.    epic-toys.co.uk/Ok, I think I really pooped the bed by not pre-ordering this Greg Valentine. I (mistakenly) thought the Mattel version looked better. But, seeing these pics, I think I’m gonna have to try and buy one. Both have good points Mattel’s face for me is better, but I don’t particular like either head sculpt or hair sculpt The body is better on this and the guitar appears to be more in scale (mattel have used the breakable guitar from the elites which are clearly a vastly different scale) I do like that mattel is closer to the original from the ad, but the design on this is better and far more detailed and I think just edges out the coolness of having ‘the one from the ad’ So I think both are cool in their own way but this just edged out the mattel but I think there’s a good argument for having both - one as a representation of the ad, snd this as an example of what had to could’ve done with better technology / budget etc. especially since the Mattel’s come as a set so if you wanted the others their Greg is almost a bonus to complement this one The powers of pain I’m very interest to see how they come out. The flat Matte black on the legs still has a bit of shine and the tops look like a nice harder soft goods material. Those two if they come out as good as they look could be a bar setter for what these companies can put out. |

Alright. I put my order in. If they’re not under my Christmas tree (giving you the benefit of the doubt and not saying with my Turkey) then I’m looking at you. I’ll not come on here until new year then 👀 POA, I’ve ordered one Epic product prior to my recent POP order. It was the 6” DK. It was already in stock and came quickly and I think it displays great with my Davey. I’ve been on the fence with Sabu because of all we’ve heard. I originally ordered and then cancelled (was refunded quickly) after there were some questions with the company. When I put the order in for POP, I noticed Sabu was still available via Asylum but not FC. I also noticed the prices are different amongst the sites for the same figures. As much as a $10-15 difference for Sabu, Hammer and some others. What’s the deal here? Is a Sabu PO still available or is that an error? Why the price difference? Which should I order from going forward? |

The different retailers (FC and Asylum) will set their own prices for the figures, Sabu was taken off pre-order when the takeover happened to prevent further people waiting for these to get made. There will be excess stock (not a great deal) once Sabu is in stock though, would recommend waiting until then and then ordering whoever is cheaper as both a reputable companies to order from. |

The skin tones of Warlord and Valentine are way off. Something so simple.
Otherwise all three look great.

Would love for someone to make warlord in his red and black face paint. Mattel and jakks both did black and blue and now so is epic. Glad to see barbarian in black and yellow and would also want him in red and black

I still don't know how exactly I feel about these. There's something about the finish and lack of definition on these, they don't look as close to Hasbros as I feel they could. Look at how smooth and featureless the parts are, you can especially see it in Greg's legs and PoP's arms.

My figures were actually purchased through FC (whom I received a shipping notification from). I ordered Haku from Asylum in July of last year! I emailed them. They did respond, and said they’re just waiting to receive them, and that they will ship all figured out as fast as they can. |

I received my Haku a day ahead of schedule but didn’t get a chance to open it up until just a big ago. First I’ll plug my Instagram for photos and such because I’m a large man with an even bigger (and equally fragile) ego! http://instagram.com/p/CwVORCEOA8M Now for the full review and a couple of exclusive photos: The shipping packaging was adequate. Figure Collections included a couple of BCA adverts. There was a small amount of bubble wrap and a single piece of protective paper. Nothing appeared damaged in the shipping process and the size of the box was pretty much perfect for a single figure. The card itself looks good on the front from an artwork standpoint. The bubble is a bit different but doesn’t bother me other than it having glare while taking photos.  The front of the card was slightly damaged. I can’t tell exactly how or why. Perhaps figures were stacked on it at some point in the factory or during the shipping process. I’m not sure either if there were some odd transfer issues with adhesive or ink but you can kind of see what I mean in one of the photos. I’m not a MOC guy so it’s not a problem but I would be interested to see if others have the same thing happen.   The back of the card is something I love…but if I have to nitpick, I would say that I’m not the biggest fan of the figure photo being used on the right side. Maybe it could be executed differently.  The figure on its own looks and feels just fine. The plastic kind of reminds me more of Galoob…hard but not as hard as a Hasbro. Agreed with others who have stated it does have problems standing on its own at times. That part was a bit frustrating. Paint application was good but not flawless. The eyes could use a hair more detail. The pants and the skin tone could have been improved upon but they certainly aren’t bad. I wouldn’t change the pants to blue just to make them pop (sorry Mitch!).   The crown could pop a little more too but honestly, I didn’t care much about it to begin with. Oddly enough, the thing I like about it most is what it would have meant to me as a kid. Such a simple accessory that I could have used as the grand prize in my KOTR tournaments!  Scale-wise…it is smaller than it should have been. It doesn’t look terrible but it definitely could have and should have been bigger. I put him next to a large variety of figures so you all could judge for yourselves:     So where does Haku land overall? Probably a solid 7.25/10. The likeness is there, the artwork is good if not great, and the figure isn’t falling apart. Had he been a little bigger and maybe a little more vibrant, it would have been a 9+ for me. Right now he ranks above Larry Z, Godfather, and Ahmed but slightly below Gangrel.  |
