Not questioning the quality they are good, just the fact that production thanks to all the pre orders from people buying multiples to cash in has not really gone well. Ultimate general demand is lower than the production run is my point. But you already knew that well, it would definitely explain why ZST constantly has a flow of figures from his "sold out" lines....
I am one of those people who bought two of every Chella figure until S2. Why? Because I wanted a MOC and a loose figure.
I only bought one Series 2 set, as I didn't think I'd want/need two Hakus or Tangas, I was tempted by a second set of the bWo but I'd actually prefer to just get a second Meanie and try to swap the arms with a Haystacks maybe (Meanie has a serious case of T-Rex arms!)
but you're right - there is a much lower demand for the figures on a per unit basis than the preorders suggest - eBay is full of figures from people who bought multiples intending to flip, and there's clearly no market any more.
hopefully Epic are going to deliver some quality figures over the coming months which may get more people interested in buying at release rather than on the secondary market, but that remains to be seen with what happens when the current preorders are in hand

2 questions for anyone who opened their Haku-
-does the action feature work, or are the arms just posable?
-is the body hollow like a Hasbro or Mattel retro, or solid plastic?
I opened mine up, and was surprised by the heft of the figure. It almost feels more like a prototype than a finished product.

they're all just poseable/articulated arms/waist/head etc

The weight is close to that of Hasbros. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I weighed some figures a while back as this topic came up previously:

had a delivery today!! the Purple Chelsea WSW figure arrived.
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan. It's the same size as Luna (just a couple of mm taller) and the joints are loose, the detail on the paintwork is good but it's just meh.
can't see myself investing in any more FC figures after this, this was just another Luna - too small, not in scale at all, and took so long to arrive that I literally forgot all about it.

The thing with Daddy is that most of the matches that put him on the map occurred when he was much younger and fitter, when he travelled the world under different gimmicks for different promoters. The Daddy we all know and love was a far cry from that, as he was older and had the safety net of being promoted by his brother as the top dog. One thing about Shirley, though, he could wrestle. I'd recommend the book The Life and Times of Shirley Crabtree to anyone. Great read from start to finish. Maybe 3POA can read a chapter each month as a bonus bedtime story. I'm game for that.

Its funny on bay of e people selling the blue one a s a variant, when its the standard figure and the browns the variant. I have noticed the prices of Haystacks and Daddy being low and reasonable now, as no one really wants them, demand was far less than the production runs evidently. WT seem to have too few staff still and are probably up to their neck in it. Maybe wasnt their best idea to buy a toy company after all! I really don't hold any Ill will towards Wrestling Trader, as I think that they are only trying to bring to people what Chella failed to deliver; but I do feel that they have bitten off far more than they can chew. Haha, that's excellent. Tbf, he was going through a bit of a rough patch during that time with his wife who was drinking heavily and pretty much bullying him. He was never really one for the kids, though, ironically, considering his gimmick. Do you remember who Bulldog was wrestling? I'd love to see some footage from those shows he did in the UK in the early 90s outside of WWF/WCW.

Pre-orders closing this Friday for the Powers of Pain and Demolition two-packs:
They're saying both sets are due in stock by late-November/early-December time - lets see how that works out.

Weird, I'm guessing it's the variant Page, not the first one. Anyway I received my variant Page from Chella (!) over a year ago!

Great episode of the podcast today. My only criticism is that I wasn’t put over nearly enough and my many, many questions were skipped over. The Sal stuff was handled politely but I do wish we knew more (even if it meant putting Mitch on the spot). Good to hear about Duke (don’t really care about Carlito).
Something that I was confused about when it comes to the carding is the statement that Smoke Train will be the only “special” packaging but then he said Bulldog will be heavily representing the UK. At least that is how I interpreted it.
I’m intrigued about the playset(s)…

Could someone enlighten me as to what was said about the rush situation and what mitch said about it?

The bulk of the Rush discussion revolved around the poor quality of the figures being overblown and then Sal’s poor reaction to…everyone. Mitch tried to warn him about handling it better and admitted it was pretty much a PR disaster that could have and should have been avoided.

Mitch tried to warn him about handling it better and admitted it was pretty much a PR disaster that could have and should have been avoided. I agree, they glossed over the fact that Sal hasn't provided figures to many customers (but has started selling figures people have paid for, on ebay!)
the part I didn't like was how Mitch claimed that the breakages were minimal - I had an Ahmed that fell apart as soon as I opened the bubble, because he cut corners on production. I didn't smash mine with a hammer, I peeled the plastic bubble from the backing card and the figure practically turned into a Lego set.
that's not an isolated event, Matt was in no way rough with the articulated figures that he received, he showed a video where he rotated the arms (as one would expect on a figure with full 360 arm rotation) and the torso split apart.
yet Mitch is still claiming people were too rough on his figures. JUST OWN THE L AND MOVE ON.
I also have to question the way Mitch skipped over the Quality Control question - he's received a shipment of figures where the bubbles have come away from the card, despite he previously raised this risk with his manufacturer. So far we've had 4 figures, and from the sounds of it, each one has suffered issues that come down to Quality Control. Smoke Train doesn't even look like the guy, Ahmed's lifelike injury-prone status, MoM going from gold to yellow and bubbles falling off cards. It's clear from his answer that QC is nowhere in his mind as a priority, yet he's trying to sell figures in a crowded market where he's already managed to establish a solid fan base, and needs to keep the buyers invested in his products going forward. QC should be front of the mind Mitch, to maintain the good will of people (like myself) who are pissed off with the preorder scam and just want to buy quality goods from companies producing figures of characters that Hasbro/Mattel didn't cover.
his explanation was basically "Well, they're coming from China, what can you expect?"
so.... if a manufacturer knows Chinese goods aren't reliable, why go with China? obviously he can't produce them domestically in the USA because he can't afford it (every manufacturer goes to China because an average factory wage bill is $40 a quarter) but he's got the option to go elsewhere if he's charging $40 a figure and knows the quality of the end product is going to be an issue, rather, than saying "Well it's not my fault, they're coming from China...." to get out of the obvious failings of his own choosing.
I want Mitch to succeed. I just want him to produce figures that people can still hold (and kids can play with) in 10 years time without worrying that they'll turn to dust.

Got my set of 7 of Series 2 from thewrestlingasylum the other day (2 Meanies and an extra Haku).
Honestly Haku and Richards are a little disappointing, BUT the set is not as bad as I feared. These are nothing for a loose collectors but work as a MOC. For now, these are keepers for me.
Don’t know how to post pics here. Is there any free picture host recommended for iPhone?
