In July of 2020, Chela Toys started promoting a Hasbro/Retro style figure of Nick Aldis. They would go on to produce a number of figures before problems arose and things became a mess around/during Series 2. Ultimately the company was sold to Luke and Kate. Luke and Kae already owned Wrestling Trader (an UK based online retailer for wrestling figures) and had been working with Chella Toys. The choice was made to re-brand Chella and call it "Epic Toys." Once they took over, Epic Toys have been working to release figures that were in the works prior to their arrival and at times in conjunction with others such as Figure Collections. What does TAFKA mean as in the thread title? Also with the update of each thread is there any need to have Chella in the title moving forward?

Tbh was there any need to create so many threads? It looks a mess, and the way it was served everyone fine. I understand that criticism. One problem was the All Things Retro thread was started before 4 of the companies really existed. It was mainly to discuss Heels and Faces but also Chela and whatever else popped up. But as things grew, information was constantly missed, timelines were a bit fuzzy, and so on because there tended to be a lot of crosstalk about all the companies, sometimes confusion over who was making what, and page after page of people complaining about Zombie Josh’s personality. It took away from the discussion of these other companies who deserved to have their own spotlight. The goal wasn’t to upset anyone but instead excite people over the products that are out there/still to come. Hey you forgot to add DDP to the list. Thanks - I added it! |

Are Epic still going with the Wrestling Megastars title or are they gonna start using a new one for their line? On their anouncement for The British Bulldogs 2-pack they still call the line Wrestling Megastars. |

though I still don't see the need for a million threads for the Retros, especially when most of the other lines who have only put out concept art to date will likely die off in the near future

Epic clear it up in their interview with us released today! Sounds like Zombie got to Heenan whilst he was in his legends deal and Epic got to him whilst it was lapsed in nutshell |

I mean is it really distracting from the Microbrawler thread (the only other active thread here)? Is it distracting from the 8 pinned threads in this section and the 6 above that? Quite honestly, several of these Retro threads will go quiet and get pushed down over time. Tis’ the natural order of things.
In reality there are only 3 new threads: WSW, KWK, and Grapplers and Gimmicks. The “All Retros” thread was dominated by ZST discussion, Rush had its own, and then there is the thread we are currently in. Grapplers and Gimmicks has made enough of a splash to deserve their own. WSW is going to be a hard one as their production schedule is going to be slower than many. For example, the last of their series 1 figures isn’t going into production until March or April. At this point they have only produced Chelsea Green which isn’t the greatest figure nor was it in high demand from board members.
KWK probably won’t get updated much by me unless someone is announced as signed or until there is substantial progress made in production. If figures are released, we will see it pop up more (good, bad, or indifferent). Personally they lost my trust so I won’t be preordering. If things do actually get made, I will order one and review it there.

I don't see G&G's going away neither. Mitch is doing some questionable stuff, but on the other hand he's putting out quality product now and averaging a 4 month turn around on preorders atm. Lots of stuff announced that people are clamouring for, so I think he'll be around for a while too. I wish luck to KWK though, I hope they succeed too, they've got quite a few guys I really want in my collection like Max Moon, Mantaur and Orient Express. Rush can fade away though lol, quality aside, they don't have a single name I'd really be interested in. Side note, I actually like the board like this, easier to navigate and keep track of what's from what company. |
