I’m shocked people are gonna pony up nearly $50 each for these. Both guys got Wwe figures and they were pretty darn decent figures at that. Same with Anderson and Gallows. Devil's advocate: Same argument could be made for Ambrose and Jericho no? I know they're not as expensive as the Super 7 figs, but in concert similar. Even Cody to some extent (though his most recent Mattel is older). In no way on any planet should Mox and Chris Jericho be compared to Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins

I was very disappointed in that Andre figure. Yeah none of those heads look good at all. I was on the fence already. Seeing how it turned out made my decision very easy to pass on it. I wasn't thrilled with the attire choice either.

I wonder how much these will go for. They look really cool. I'm in as long as the price is reasonable.

Now there are other ones that have a lot more accessories etc that are in the $60-$75 range but this don’t seem to be those.

What I’m saying is to question why someone would want Cardona and Myers figures when they have Mattel Elites Is equivalent to asking why someone would want a John Moxley AEW figure when there are many Ambrose Mattel elites.

That seems a bit hair-splitting since they'll be in Cardona and Myers gear (and the latter looks way different than his last elite). Also again, Mox and Hardy (when he's made) are going to look very close to their Elites. They're going to look closer to their last Mattel figures than Cody's going to look to his. Same thing with Jericho. And Matt Hardy will look essentially the same as his most recent Mattels. Your straw-manning specific guys and ignoring the overall point, which is that when we someone gets a release through a new toy company a majority of people who like them will want their new figure even if they have their preexisting elites.

I don't even disagree with the bolded part. I took issue with saying "what about Jericho and Cody", who are two guys who are going to look way different from their last Mattel figures compared to the Major WF Pod guys. You can say I'm "straw-manning specific guys" but I only used two of the examples YOU NAMED, dude. The point for Moxley/Hardy is valid. It doesn't make sense to apply it to Cody and Jericho (who, again, you mentioned first), because they're both very different from anything Mattel did with them. That puts them out of appealing just to people who like them. People will want them because of how different they are. That's different than buying an AEW Matt that looks similar to your elite Matt, or a Moxley that looks similar to the SummerSlam one if you just took the shirt off.

I think it’s more about the price point than anything else. Why pay over double the retail of an elite? With AEW it’s the same price point as elites. But, that’s just how I am looking what that post was getting at. Personally, I think it’s cool that these guys are getting figures on their own like this. If they can do it, why not? Not something I’m interested in at the price point, maybe if they were like $25 I’d think about it.

Im just wondering if this is signalling a chance that S7 may go after independant/unsigned domestic talent now ....similar to that OTHER companies line with the sub-par quality. Except S7 would be ...you know....GOOD. At least going by the majority of their other properties releases.

Looks like Ryder and Hawkins arent going to AEW. Super 7 couldve used their New Japan connections and signed guys like Keiji Mutoh, Kensuke Sasaki, Masahiro Chono, Scott Norton, etc and they sign...Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Muto doesn't really have anything to do with New Japan now. Kensuke Sasaki has been on the New Japan 'no' list for a very long time. They could get Chono, he's a semi-regular big-event commentator for them. Scott Norton apparently has an exclusive deal with the dudes who make bootleg RA figures. Signing Japanese legends is more involved than "just go through New Japan". A lot of them don't really have anything to do with the promotions they're most associated with now and tracking them down can be kind of difficult and, if what's been said about the licensing prices that went into King of Colosseum 2 were anything to go by, expensive as all hell.

This. Is not as simple as “oh why don’t they sign (insert legend here)??” There’s so much that goes into it. I’m extremely excited about the release of these and the Gallows/Anderson figures. The multitude of head scans, accessories, and high quality deco is going to be great!

Why would this indicate that they won’t end up in AEW? Lucha Bros having figs with another company didn’t prevent them from signing with AEW or getting AEW figs.

I wanted a Ryder in his Christian inspired gear and Hawkins in his Edge inspired gear, but Mattel didn't get to them in time. Not sure if I'll bother with these tbh.

Just spent a fair amount for Ryder's last Elite. Oh well, I will get these too. This is great to see. Though, from the renders, Myers figure looks better.

Can Super 7 sign Nick Aldis, Storm and Drake, and Zicky Dice. One because I want them, but also for the NWA Belts.
