The date is January 1st, 2010. Total Nonstop Action Wrestling announced the signing of pro-wrestling mega-star Hulk Hogan and mastermind Eric Bischoff just over 2 months prior, and the wrestling world hasn't been the same ever since. The two proclaimed that they wanted TNA to become the biggest wrestling company in the world. But with that, many questions have been thrown around. What will these 2 bring to TNA Wrestling? How could the two, who a lot consider to have pretty much killed World Championship Wrestling, bring anything to the table that could bring TNA to the next level? Are they the piece missing? What will the rest of the roster think about this decision? What's going to be the first shot taken at WWE? Well one question was answered on Dec 5th, 2009 when Hulk Hogan appeared octagon side, across from Joe Rogan at a UFC event. This is where he announced that on January 4th, 2010, TNA iMPACT would be going head to head with World Wrestling Entertainment's flag ship show WWE RAW for one night only... or does he?
This is where things turn from history to fantasy. Hulk Hogan doesn't announce that iMPACT is going head to head with WWE RAW for one week and then going back to Thursdays until March 2010. Hulk Hogan announces to the world that iMPACT is going head to head with WWE RAW from now on. There will no longer be Thursday Night iMPACT. There will also no longer be a single professional wrestling show on Mondays. There will however, be a new Monday Night War, something the wrestling world has not seen since 2001. Will Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff lead TNA to new heights? We'll have to just tune in to find out...

There's going to be a few changes from what happened in real life vs what happens in my sim. First off, I got rid of the knockouts tag team championships. They were debuted in like Sept. 2009 and I really didn't feel like booking them, so I got rid of them. Also I'm not going to be trying to bring in a bunch of Hogan's buddies like in real life. I'll try and stick to storylines that are ongoing as of the beginning of 2010, but we'll see what happens. One last thing, I won't be posting results from RAW because TEW sucks at booking RAW anyways, and I didn't want to do a 2 person sim with someone. But should be fun, been trying to find something to write and this sounded like a good idea.

thank you for not doing another current tna one or else i would've been OUT on everything that i've been working on, haha.
despite that, i'm intrigued, especially since you have my main man in the amazing red onboard. not a lot to go off of at the moment besides the roster, but i can't help but notice jesse neal sticking out like a sore thumb. any chance you're going to bring shannon moore into this? i can't recall when he actually signed with impact but i always loved him.

Looking forward to this. It's an interesting timeframe to book esp if you're not bringing in Hogan's friends. I can appreciate you not using the KO tag titles but the roster is quite loaded so maybe something to introduce in the future?

Nice to see a historical TNA diary in here. I think they were on the cusp of going back to being a quality promotion by the time Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff stuck his teeth, once the Main Event Mafia story arc was all played out. Your roster is full of names that were established, or would become better established later on in the decade. Then you see those who flaked out, like the Cody Deaners and Jesse Neals. I am intrigued at the random Tomko addition, I don’t recall him being in the company by 2010. The layout is nice, if not a little simple. I don’t think we really need to see how long the previous champions held the gold, when we don’t know how long the current champions have held it. I’m open to seeing you bring in select members of Hogan’s crew in all fairness, much like I am curious how you book Hogan in this company. Let’s hope you steer clear of Sting rehashing his WCW feud with the Hulkster. As for the TNA Knockout Tag Team Championships, I understand the move. That said, you have enough quality women on your roster that you could afford to have something other to fight for, other than the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship. It looks promising and undoubtedly, I don’t recall much you have written before - so here’s hoping this has a nice lengthy run on the board.

January 4th, 2010: Impact Zone in Orlando, FL
The first TNA iMPACT on Monday Nights opens up to a scene from the original PPV that kicked off Total Nonstop Action. The video highlights many big moments in the past of TNA, including Ken Shamrock winning the NWA title on the first ever PPV, The Icon Sting arriving in TNA, and Kurt Angle making his debut. The narrator states "Tonight, a new era begins. The greatest athletes in the world. The man who revolutionized professional wrestling. All under one roof, now on Monday Nights. Destiny is ours for the taking." Clips continue to play, with Hulk Hogan quotes over highlights of AJ Styles, Abyss, and Samoa Joe until the camera pans to the live feed of the iMPACT Zone in Orlando Florida. Pyro begins exploding from the roof of the building, the packed crowed chanting "TNA TNA TNA."
"Happy New Year and welcome to a new era of professional wrestling!" Mike Tenay welcomes the television audience at home to the arena. "The Impact Zone is electric!" shouts Taz, Tenay's partner at ringside. Pyro eventually stops but the crowd doesn't. "This place is deafening and I don't blame them! Tonight, Hulk Hogan makes his iMPACT debut, and everyone here and around the world is excited and ready to see what the Hulkster has in store for us! What do you think, Taz?" exclaims Tenay. "What do I think? I think... Whatcha gonna do when TNA and Hulkamania run wild on you brother? Haha!"
"This has got to be the biggest night in TNA history!" says Mike Tenay as the camera pans to him and Taz sitting at the announcers table by the entrance ramp. "You're damn right it is! I've heard some rumors of what Hogan has planned tonight, and you viewers at home better fasten your seatbelts, because you're going to be in for one hell of a three hour ride tonight! And that ride starts right now!" The camera turns from the announcers table to reveal that the ropes of the six sided ring have been replaced with barbed wire. "It is now time for our opening contest, and it's a Barbed Wire Massacre match!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Barbed Wire Massacre - Rhino vs. Abyss Abyss and Rhino started the match staring each other down before breaking out into a huge brawl in the center of the ring. Abyss tried to whip Rhino at the barbed wire, but he was able to reverse momentum and send Abyss into the barbed wire instead. Abyss tried to get his loose shirt from the wire but Rhino took advantage and hit him with the Gore through the barbed wire ropes and onto the floor. Rhino was first back to his feet and picked Abyss back up but Abyss hit him with a huge uppercut and took back over the match. The two fought their way around the ring, getting tore apart by the barbed wire in the process, leaving both men bloodied as they entered the ring for the finish of the match. Abyss got back up to his feet slowly while Rhino set him up for a final Gore, but it was reversed into the Black Hole Slam. Abyss covers Rhino and gets the pinfall victory.
A bloodied Abyss wipes his face off and slowly rises back to his feet, facing the hard cam. He raises his hand in victory and looks down to Rhino as the screen cuts to abruptly cuts to the backstage area where a white limousine has pulled up. The crowd at the Impact Zone erupts in cheers as the driver of the limo gets out and makes his way to the back door before being interrupted. "No no no, I've got this." says a familiar voice off screen, which pops the crowd again. Kevin Nash walks into the shot and waves off the driver, before opening the back door with a big smile. "Well there you are!" The crowd erupts at the thought of it being Hulk Hogan, but out steps Scott Hall. You can hear the crowds disappointment but it didn't last too long as they were still seeing the return of Scott Hall. "...Hey yo." The two embrace in a hug as Scott gets completely out of the limousine. Just out of focus, another figure climbs out of the limo as well. "Where's Hulkster at?" asks the figure. The camera focuses more on the man, revealing it to be Sean Waltman. " Oh he's on his way, but don't worry about that. Come on inside, there's something I want to talk to you guys about."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As TNA iMPACT comes back from commercial break, we get the sight of the six sided ring again, this time without barbed wire ropes. The crowd is still hot, chanting "TNA" and "Hogan" but the completely turn their chants around when the camera is pointed at who is sitting ringside. The crowd erupts in cheers as the camera reveals Jeff Hardy to be sitting at ringside. He throws up his double two fingers at the camera, to the chants of "HARDY HARDY HARDY!" before cutting back to Mike Tenay and Taz. "This just in folks, I'm getting word that Jeff Hardy has signed with Total Nonstop Action! And it sounds like he's not waiting long, he'll be wrestling next week on iMPACT!" Mike Tenay announces to the fans as the bell sounds for the next match of the evening.
2. Team 3D w/ Jesse Neal vs. The Motor City Machine Guns Brother Devon and Chris Sabin start the match with Devon getting the immediate advantage. Devon kept Sabin grounded and powered him around the ring, until Sabin was able to slip free while in the corner. Sabin let out a quick fury which caused Devon to stumble back to his corner and tag in a fresh Brother Ray. Sabin crawled his way over to his own corner, and was able to tag in Alex Shelly, who immediately hit Ray with a cross body. Ray rolled out of the ring to be comforted by Jesse Neal, who pushed him away and got back into the ring. Shelly and Ray went back and fourth until Sabin got the tag. Devon tried to get involved, but was thrown out of the ring, which gave The Guns enough time to hit the Skull & Bones on Brother Ray to pick up the victory. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly stand victorious in the ring as the camera cuts to a shot outside.
Outside of the arena, off in the distance, there are blue and red flashing lights coming down the road. As they get closer in sight, it's clear that the blue and red lights are from 2 police cars, leading a white limousine to the Impact Zone. "That can only mean one thing Tenay!" shouts Taz as the limousine comes to a stop. A police officer walks to the back door of the limousine and opens the door up. Out steps Hulk Hogan in a black cut off tee and a black bandana. The crowd inside the building erupt in a "HOGAN HOGAN HOGAN" chant as Hulk does his trademark hand to the ear taunt to the Impact Zone. "Hulk Hogan has arrived at the Impact Zone, and he'll be in the ring, next!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The crowd continues to chant for Hulk Hogan as iMPACT returns to Spike TV. There's almost no wait as the lights cut to black. The trademark yellow "Hulkamania" logo appears on the screen above the ramp as Hulk Hogan's music plays over the PA system. "Ladies and gentleman, making his TNA Wrestling debut, please welcome The One, the Only, The Immortal Hulk Hogan!" Hogan makes his way onto the ramp, stopping at the center to look at the crowd chanting his name. He gives off a smile before flexing and doing a signature Hogan taunt as sparks fall behind him. Making his way down to the ring, he claps the hands of a couple fans and enters the ring to the crowds excessively loud response. All Hulk can do is stand and wait as the fans chant his name some more, letting them settle before finally raising his microphone. "What's up TNA Maniacs?" The crowd pops big again, and Hogan milks the reaction by walking around and taunting a little more. "Hulkamaniacs, you won't believe how long I've wanted to hear the Impact Zone chant my name brother. But that's not why I'm here. I'm here because of all that talent in the back brother. TNA is the future, and I've been waiting a long time to say this, Vince McMahon! Whatcha gonna do, when Hulk Hogan and Total Nonstop Action run right through you brother?"
The crowd still roars excitement as three familiar figures walk out onto the ramp, doing bowing motions to Hulk Hogan. The three men, Sean Waltman, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall, make their way to the ring as Hogan welcomes them with open arms. "Ahh looks like the bands back together!" Hogan exclaims as all three enter the ring. Kevin Nash grabs a mic and walks over to Hogan, raising his arm up and pointing at him. The crowd eats it up and cheers loudly. "Hulk, we didn't mean to come out and interrupt anything. We just wanted to come out and enjoy this moment with you," explains Nash. He passes off the microphone to Scott Hall. "Yeah mane, let the people hear what you've gotta say."
"Guys, you know it's been a long time since we shared a ring. We've gone through a lot together, so let me get these things off my chest for the millions of Hulkamanaics, and then we can party brother." Hogan steps away from the group and looks out to the fans. "The first thing on my mind is change! Over the next few weeks, we're gonna see some new faces, so why don't we see some new champions? Let's start that tonight manaics!" The crowd erupts in a frenzy, popping for every word Hogan says. "Tonight, every championship in TNA will be defended! AJ Styles, well he's defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Kurt Angle! Eric Young, brother you're defending your title t-..." Samoa Joe's music interrupts Hulk Hogan, causing the crowd to boo.
"Hold on one second Hulk. You're talking about young guys in the back, young guys. But you're giving a world title shot to a 40 year old man? What, were you gonna give that punk Sean there a shot at the X-Divison title?" Sean Waltman, who had been rather quiet, shuffles around in anger in the ring, looking over at Hulk Hogan for a response. "Now wait a minute brother, Samoa Joe, I know who you are dude. You're one of those guys I see becoming the next big thing. Listen, the Hulkamanaics, they want to see Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles tonight. You've got your Feast or Fired briefcase jack, you can cash that in any other time then ton-.."
"Now hold on Hulk, I'm sorry to interrupt, but are you out of your damned mind?" Kevin Nash leans over the ropes, looking at Joe in anger. "Do you know who you're talking to? Because I don't think you do. Joe, I've been in this company for years, and I know you're not interrupting the Immortal one right now." Samoa Joe laughs and brushes off Nash "Nash you're one to talk. TNA doesn't need any of you for our future. The combined age of y'all is like 200 years old. Get outta here. Heh."
"Listen brother, and Nash I've got this, I'm here for you and everyone in the back. You tell me what you want to happen, and I've you dude. The millions of Hulkamanaics know whats the best for the wrestling world, and I've always got my ear to them. What the maniacs want, the maniacs will get."
"I don't think any of the maniacs wanted some old Outsiders and their little b***h that follows them around." That set off Sean Waltman, who sent himself out of the ring, running at a dead sprint to Samoa Joe. Joe dropped the microphone and caught Sean and hit him with a suplex. Joe pointed at Sean and looked back at the ring, which now had Nash and Hall pointing back up at Joe and arguing with Hogan. "You're just gonna let him do that?" asked an angered Kevin Nash. "Listen here, I'm not gonna be bossed around on my first night here in TNA brother!" The crowd erupts in a cheer again as Hogan continues on. "Sean, you don't even work here, but it you seem like you want to fight, brother. Nash, Hall, get to the back." Nash looks at Hogan in confusion but Scott Hall nudges him and whispers something in his ear, which gets them to head to the back. "Joe, Sean, get in the ring. Let's see how these new pups stack up."
Samoa Joe looks down at Sean Waltman, who is just now getting to his feet, and laughs as he walks to the ring. Joe slides into the ring and says a few words to Hogan, who shakes his head back at him as they wait for Waltman to get into the ring. "Listen here brother..." Hogan looks at Sean, "If you win this match, I'll give you a contract. But if not, you've gotta get lost, jack." Waltman nods his head and takes off his jacket. Hogan exits the ring and motions down for a referee as the camera cuts to a commercial break.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Samoa Joe vs. Sean Waltman The ref gets into the ring and the match begins. Sean is still groggy from the suplex he took, and Joe takes full advantage of it. The match is over in just under a minute as Samoa Joe puts Sean Waltman to sleep with the Coquina Clutch. Samoa Joe stands over top of an unconscious Sean Waltman, looking directly over to Hogan with his arm raised in victory.
The camera cuts to Hulk Hogan sitting at ringside, clapping his hands and shaking his head. Joe nudges Sean one more time before exiting the ring, and heading up the ramp where he's met by Kevin Nash, with his arms crossed. Samoa Joe squares up with Nash but is clocked in the back of the head by Scott Hall with a black baseball bat. Joe stumbles forward into Nash, who shoves him back onto the ground. "Security, get these 2 outta here!" shouts Hulk Hogan from ringside, pointing up at Hall and Nash. The two stomp on Joe until they are rushed by security, where they then put up their hands and walk away without any more problems. Cutting back to Hogan, he's at ringside furious and throws down his microphone before walking back up the ramp to check on Samoa Joe.
Backstage, we see Christy Hemme standing backstage with Eric Young, who stood with a smile on his face. "So Eric, how do you fee-.." "You see this? This is the face of a man who has outsmarted another legend of this business. First it was Kevin Nash, and now it's Hulk Hogan. How, you might say? Does Hulk Hogan not watch the show? The Global championship will not be defended on American soil, and I sure as hell am not going to defend it against anybody from America either. Now if Hogan wants me, tell him I'm busy." Eric Young makes his way off the screen but the camera follows him, a she passes by ODB, chugging a beer backstage. "ODB better slow it down, because she's got her match with Tara for the Knockouts championship next!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Knockouts Championship - Tara (c) vs ODB ODB and Tara are staring each other down before the bell rings with ODB making gestures at Tara. As soon as the bell rings though, the ring is swarmed by Awesome Kong and Hamada who immediately beat down everyone in sight. The bell gets rang multiple times to show that the match is finished, but the beat down keeps happening. ODB is eventually tossed out of the ring and beaten down ringside by Hamada, leaving Tara and Awesome Kong in the ring together. Tara tries to escape, but there is none when facing Awesome Kong. Awesome Kong plants Tara with an Awesome Bomb before standing over her with the Knockouts championship. "Awesome Kong has screwed ODB out of a shot at the Knockouts championship! Wait... what's that? We now go backstage!"
"Ay yo, big man let us in." Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are being held back by security at the door, while Hulk Hogan stands on the other side of them, looking in disgust. "After what you did to Samoa Joe, you think I'm just gonna let you in brother? You're out of your mind." "Hulk I know you're angry, we're gonna talk it out, but for now you said all the titles need to be defended tonight, that means the Tag Team championships need a challenger. And wouldn't you believe it? I've got this!" Above his head, Kevin Nash raises up the Feast or Fired briefcase and Hogan lets out an immediate sigh. "What are you planning to do with that?" "I'm cashing in my match Hulk, you've gotta let us in now. It's in the contract." Nash and Hall triumphantly walk through the security guards with the briefcase raised up, smiling at Hogan as they walk by. "Well fans, it looks like we're getting Hall and Nash vs The British Invasion tonight for the World Tag Team Championships!" proclaims Mike Tenay. "But first, Christy Hemme is backstage with my boy, The Pope!"
Christy Hemme stands in the cameras view, as it fades in and then back to show The Pope D'Angelo Dinero standing beside her. Hemme looks over to Dinero and smiles before asking her question. "Pope D'Angelo Dinero, The Hulkster must really like you because he's got you booked for a match next week against Desmond Wolfe. What do you think about that?" "Why should the pope be surprised? The greatest entertainer of all time wants The Pope on Monday Nights beating down Desmond Wolfe? Please, this is gonna be a cakewalk for The Pope. But enough about that, and more about you Christy. The Pope sees the way you're eyeing him. The Pope wants to know if you want to make a little donation." Christy laughs to herself slightly. "Nevermind that, we can do that later, hah, for now, The Pope has other business to attend to." Christy Hemme smiles at the camera as D'Angelo Dinero walks off screen and the camera fades back to the ring.
5. TNA X-Division Championship - Amazing Red (c) vs. Akira Raijin vs. Consequences Creed vs. Suicide "It's time for some X-Divison action!" proclaims Taz as the high paced match begins. "You won't see action like this anywhere else on Monday Nights, but here on Spike TV!" All 4 men split up into groups of 2, bumping all around the ring. At one point during the match, Amazing Red was the only one left in the ring while the other three men were outside, piled up together. Amazing Red sprinted over to the ropes, leaping off and landing a shooting star press to the outside on the group. This caused the crowd to break out into another loud "TNA TNA TNA" chant. Even though Red was the one on the offense, Akira Raijin was up first and threw Creed into the ring. Raijin beat down Creed, ignoring the fact that Red and Suicide had both gotten back to their feet and went on opposite sides of the ring. Creed hit a drop kick on Akira, knocking them both down, which in turn led to them being hit by frog splashes from both sides by Amazing Red and Suicide. The two rolled out of the ring, allowing Red and Suicide to face off. The two went back and fourth until Amazing Red hit Suicide with the Red Eye and got the pinfall victory. "What an incredible performance by these four men of our X-Divison, and especially our champion Amazing Red!" said Mike Tenay to the viewers at home as Red celebrated in the ring.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a TNA Merch advertisement, Velvet Sky is shown entering what appears to be a maintenance closet, but it's far from it. Inside the room, sitting at a poker table, are Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich, who is sitting at the table in her bra. Sky sits down and looks over to Lacey and Madison in disgust. "You started without me? Come on, I went to get the camera man, remember what we said? Strip poker is ratings! And you know what's even better ratings than Strip Poker? The Beautiful People playing strip poker!" The 3 all have a laugh as Madison Rayne passes out the next hand, but the camera cuts away to outside in the hallway before we can see what happens.
Walking down the hall is the debuting Rob Van Dam, in full ring gear, and his head is moving all over the place as if he's looking for something. Van Dam gets to the same door that Velvet Sky was at and says to the camera "ahh, wouldn't be the first time smoking in a closet, haha." He opens the door slowly, as Madison Rayne exclaims that Lacey Von Erich has lost again. Rob pokes his head in and shrugs, walking in to the surprise of the 3 women at the table. "Heh ladies, uhh don't mind me, keep uhh, playing cards." Rob hops up and sits on a box in the corner of the room. Lacey begins to lower a strap on her bra before Velvet Sky tells her to wait. "I know you, RVD. Come sit and play with us." RVD laughs at Velvet Sky, "Sorry hun, but I can't. I'm just wearing a singlet. I'll sit here and watch though, "while digging his hand down the front of his tights. The Beautiful People see his hand and run off in disgust, flipping the table. Rob Van Dam looks up in confusion, but shrugs it off as he pulls out a brown paper sack and a lighter from his gear. RVD smiles widely as he flicks the lighter, as the camera fades back to the Impact Zone.
6. TNA Tag Team Championship - The British Invasion (c) vs Scott Hall and Kevin Nash Doug Williams and Nash started the match off, staring each other down. Nash shrugged to The British Invasion before going in for a lock up and getting shoved back by Terry. The two exchange stiff blows but Nash seems to have the advantage. Magnus gets tagged in and they double team Kevin, while Hall fails to make a save. Hall takes a tumble over the top rope and onto the ground, while Nash gets back to his feet and fends off the two. There isn't much more exchanged before the camera shows a visibly injured Samoa Joe limping his way down the ramp to the ring. Joe's head is bandaged up and he looks out for blood, immediately going after Scott Hall on the ground. Hall gets thrown into the barricade, causing a disqualification.
The British Invasion notice what's going on and leave the ring, exiting the arena through the fans as Kevin Nash comes out himself to save Hall. Joe punches Nash in the stomach and then the two begin to exchange blows, leaving Scott Hall time to recover. It appears Joe has Nash on the run when out of no where, Scott Hall hits Samoa Joe with a low blow, dropping him to his knees. Nash and Hall celebrate for a moment before beating down an injured Joe some more outside of the ring. But that's when the lights go out. The fans erupt in a cheer, with the only light in the arena coming from the flashes of cameras. The lights slowly return to the Impact Zone, revealing Sting in the ring, pointing his baseball bat at the Nash and Hall. "The Icon Sting has returned to TNA! After being gone for months, Sting is back and he's coming for Kevin Nash and Scott Hall!" Sting quickly exits the ring, which causes Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to escape through the fans, making gestures at Sting as he checks on a beaten Samoa Joe.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What a hell of a night we've had Tenay!" yelled Taz as iMPACT comes back from a commercial break. "That's right Taz, and we're not finished yet! We've got our Main Event of the evening coming up next. The Phenomenal AJ Styles defends his TNA World Heavyweight Champion against Kurt Angle!" "I've been waiting all night for this match, I can't wait!" exclaims Taz as Kurt Angles music starts to play in the arena.
7. TNA World Heavyweight Championship - AJ Styles (c) vs Kurt Angle AJ and Angle lock up immediately before turning into a suplex from Kurt Angle. The crowd is really split on the match, going back and fourth from "Let's go AJ!" to "Let's go Angle!" There's an intensity coming from Kurt Angle that is unmatched by most, and he's showing it tonight. AJ Styles eventually dumps Angle out of the ring and dives onto him from the top rope. The crowd eats the match up, chanting again for AJ and Angle, but also chanting "TNA!" as the two get back into the ring. Angle throws Styles towards the turnbuckle, but he accidentally collides into the referee Earl Hebner, knocking him into the mat. Kurt runs at AJ, but he ducks and hits Angle with a Pele Kick, but as Styles gets up, a man in all black slides into the ring. With the referee down, the masked man goes on the assault on Styles. "There's that masked man again, he's attacked Styles for months!" But Kurt Angle had seen enough, he got up and hit the masked man with an Angle Slam, sending the masked man packing. Styles and Angle continued their match as Earl got back to his footing, never noticing the masked man at all. Eventually, AJ Styles was able to reverse an Angle Slam, tripping Angle to the ground and then picking him up and into a Styles Clash. AJ goes down for the pinfall, one two three. "And it's all over, AJ Styles has retained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship!" Styles gets onto the top rope and raises his title in victory, with gold confetti falling from the ceiling. It looks like the first iMPACT on Monday Nights is going to end on a good note when the camera suddenly cuts backstage.
Immediately, the first thing we see on camera is Hulk Hogan, bloodied and alone in what appears to be his office. The camera pans slightly over, showing a black baseball bat leaned up against the wall as the medical team rush in to check on Hogan. Along with the medical team, is Jeff Jarrett, who looks more confused than anything. Everyone checks on Hogan, who slowly begins to regain conscious and looks up to the camera in anger and pain as TNA iMPACT fades out for the night.

I like the use of a GIF, if anything because it differentiates from the pack. I would have preferred it to show the iMPACT logo though. TNA what? What I am curious about is how long you plan on sticking on Monday nights, because I can only imagine it’ll be an uphill battle with or without Hulk Hogan and his friends. TNA iMPACT could barely do a 1.5 on Thursdays, let alone on Mondays. I like the logic of opening with the Barbed Wire Massacre, but I feel like you could have gone the RAW is WAR route of having the racier aspects of the show on later. The layout is nice, I would definitely suggest including the result in the header though. The return of Scott Hall and Syxx is a nice touch, and of course we see Jeff Hardy make a comeback. This really was a landmark night for the company, so bolstering new faces and shuffling the deck of cards is always a good move with each and every segment. Interesting move having the Motor City Machine Guns go over Team 3D clean, I feel like there should be more story here. I wouldn’t have mentioned Vince McMahon by name, but the promo makes perfect sense. So it seems to me like the founders of the nWo, or whatever you choose to call them, will be the authority in TNA moving forward, which makes sense - I just hope we don’t get another Main Event Mafia vs Frontline situation. Samoa Joe has history with Hall and Nash after Turning Point 2007, so I liked that. Understandable that Sean Waltman is the runt of the group, but he is also the best worker. I maybe would have built Waltman up a little more before jobbing him out. God, I forgot all about Akira Raijin’s existence. What I’m hoping to see with the TNA X-Division Championship going forward is less multi-man matches, and more comprehensive focus on singles feuds. Rob Van Dam’s here too - alright. The top of TNA’s cards is officially looking bolstered. The weed reference got a laugh out of me, but maybe a little too on-the-nose for national television. You’ve started a good storyline with Samoa Joe effectively sabotaging Hall and Nash’s hopes of becoming TNA World Tag Team Champions. I hope the British Invasion continue to develop themselves as champions. The Sting run-in to Joe’s aid I would have preferred to see next week, or a week later. Joe against the authority is a good way to go, and Sting is a great callback to the WCW storylines - but it should have been the first-hour main, or closing scene of the show. Let’s try not to pack so much into the first night and see it paced out over weeks some. Glad to see AJ Styles retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, although I wonder what’s next for Kurt Angle. More hype, and maybe an interview for Kurt would have helped this main event feel bigger. So Hulk’s been established as an antagonist all night, then gets mystery attacked…not sure, but it is a good hook for next week. I can only imagine the black bat is a red herring, and an attempt to frame Sting. Was Jeff Jarrett still on-screen in January 2010? Not a bad start, it was booked well, perhaps overdone in other areas. I hope in future shows we see more character development for the younger guys, but it’s obvious the focus needed to be on the new starters.

I really enjoyed that first show. Lots going on but understable given it's the first of the Monday shows. I think it was all booked well and realistic given they would have wanted to put out a top show for the first Monday show. Hogan's role was nicely handled with a good story. Looks like Joe is going to be a major character in this. I like how MCMG went over as it shows an indication that TNAs future isn't all about ex WWE stars. Minor point, it's Shelley not Shelly. The X Div has so much potential so looking forward to how you develop that. Good luck.

January 11th, 2010: Impact Zone in Orlando, FL
"Welcome to a new era of professional wrestling!" A sound clip of Mike Tenay from the previous week plays over the beginning of the highlights for last weeks groundbreaking episode of TNA iMPACT. Hulk Hogan is featured throughout, while also showing key moments of the previous weeks episode. The video package ends with Hulk Hogan being found bloodied and battered backstage, with the last thing seen being him opening his eyes slightly. The camera fades into a wide shot a hot crowd chanting "TNA TNA TNA" while the opening pyro for the show shoots off. "We're only 6 days away from Genesis, Hulk Hogan's first pay-per-view here in Total Nonstop Action, and I can't be more excited!" The pyro dies down as we see the commentary team of Mike Tenay and Taz at ramp-side.
Before the commentary team can continue their opening dialogue, Kurt Angles music begins to play over the P.A. system. The crowd has a mixed reaction as Kurt Angle makes rises from the ramp in suit and tie, holding a microphone. He stops and looks out to the crowd before raising his hand, signaling pyro to go off behind him. Kurt Angle enters the ring as the lights around him fade to dark and his music begins to silence. "AJ Styles, when you won the World Heavyweight Championship last September, you proved to everyone it wasn't a fluke. You've been on a great reign with no blemishes... Well... Actually one blemish. Now I understand what happened last week, AJ Styles, you pinned me in this very ring, one two three, but it was a fluke." The crowd doesn't like that and boos Kurt Angle slightly, but with the mixed crowd he also gets some cheers. "You've got issues backstage with somebody and that's your business, but they interfered in our match and I had to get involved. It put me off my game."
On the big screen, they show a clip of last week's main event where a masked man ran in and attacked AJ Styles, only to be Angle Slammed. The footage then shows Angle picking up Styles for his own Angle Slam, which was reversed and turned into a Styles Clash. "Now I'm not one to go make excuses..." AJ Styles music interrupts Kurt Angle's speech, causing him to lower his mic as the crowd roars for AJ Styles. Styles makes his way down to the ring with a microphone in one hand and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the other. "Not one to make excuses? Kurt, then what are you even doing out here right now?" AJ enters the ring and looks over to Kurt Angle, who raises up his own microphone. " If I didn't have to deal with your mess, I'd be standing here right now the TNA World Heavyweight Champion." Styles shakes his head at Kurt Angle, and slightly laughs to himself. "You can think that all you want, but in the end, I'm the one standing here with the gold. Now why don't you tell me and everyone here what you're really out here for."
"This Sunday on pay-per-view is Genesis, and you don't seem to have a challenger for that World Championship of yours. How about for old times sake, one more time, Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles." The packed Impact Zone likes the sound of that and screams out in approval, but AJ Styles isn't having it. "I beat you last week, why on Earth would I give you another shot at my title? If I gave you the shot, you'd just come up with another excuse when I beat you again." AJ Styles smiles to himself and pats the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder. Again, before Kurt Angle could talk, he's interrupted again by the sound of music, this time Hulk Hogan's music.
Hulk Hogan makes his walk out to the entrance ramp, and he's not alone, he's brought Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Hogan, with a bandage still around his head from the beating last week, raises up his microphone. "Now now dudes, the Hulkamaniacs don't want to see arguing back and fourth, they want to see action, brother. Now before I got attacked last week, I saw you two in the ring and it only makes sense that at Genesis we run it back." Kurt Angle nods his head in approval, while AJ looks in dismay at what's going on. "Don't smile yet Angle, this isn't really good for you brother. There's going to be a stipulation because I see where AJ's coming from too." Nash turns and whispers something into Hogan's ear, who nods in approval. "That's just what I was thinking. Kurt, if you don't beat AJ at Genesis for the World Heavyweight Championship, then you're not getting anymore shots at AJ Styles as long as he's champion."
Kurt Angle raises his microphone back up to his mouth, causing AJ to turn back to him. "Oh I won't need another time to beat you, this time it's real. It's damn real." Styles steps up into Kurt Angle's face, talking trash off of the microphone. The two exchange words, before they are interrupted by Kevin Nash. "Kurt, don't get too riled up in there. I hope you have ring gear under that suit, because you've got a match right now." AJ and Angle continue to stare each other down, as Styles slowly exits the ring and sits ringside. In the ring, Kurt Angle has already begun stripping down the top half of his suit, leaving on his dress pants. Daniels music plays over the P.A. system while Kurt Angle continues preparing for the match. "Looks like we have both our main event for Genesis and our first match of the night! Kurt Angle is going to face off against Daniels, who just over three weeks ago challenged for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Final Resolution. This is going to be no easy task for Kurt Angle, who really wasn't even prepared to wrestle!"
1. Kurt Angle def. Daniels The two have a solid opening match for the night. There's a lot of back and fourth action, with Daniels showing that he belongs in the ring with Kurt Angle. Daniels gets a near fall after hitting a moonsault, which Angle kicked out at what felt like a 2.9, which got the crowd amped up and cheering. Angle eventually took back over the match and finished the match strongly, hitting Daniels with the Angle Slam and pinning him for the three count. The crowd cheers for Angle as he gets to his up to his feet and walks over to the apron, talking smack to AJ Styles who is clapping for him. "Kurt Angle is victorious tonight, but will we see him stand victorious at Genesis against that man, AJ Styles?" asks Mike Tenay to the crowd at home. AJ gets to his feet and keep staring each other down as TNA iMPACT goes to commercial break.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeremy Borash, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall are standing backstage is the scene we see as iMPACT comes back from it's break. "Hello, I'm here with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Now guys, we just witnessed both of you out there with Hulk Hogan. Knowing he was attacked last week by somebody, you two must not be suspects?" asked Borash, causing Nash to snatch the microphone from his hand. "Suspects? Are you kidding me Jeremy? Us three, we go back fifteen years. We're not going to attack the Hulkster. We're too tight for that." Scott Hall nudges Kevin Nash for the microphone, who obliges. "Ey chico, don't be throwin' our names out there mane."
"I'm not trying to point any fingers guys. Well from what you both told me, we have footage from earlier today that we're going to show of your meeting with Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett. Let's roll the footage." The camera fades into a "Earlier Today" clip from Hulk Hogan's office. He's sitting behind his desk, still bandaged up from the attack, in the middle of a conversation with Jeff Jarrett, who is standing in front of his desk. "Hulk, I swear to you I didn't see what happened. I was just backstage at catering when I heard the call and I followed medical." Hogan nods his head, listening to Jarrett. "All I know is that when I came in, you were bloodied on the ground and the only evidence we have is a black baseball bat."
"Listen Jeff, we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I don't see why I shouldn't trust you brother. You're part of the reason I'm here in TNA right n-..." There's a knock at the door, causing both Hogan and Jarrett to turn around. "Come in!" yells Hogan to the group outside of the door. Slowly the door opens and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash make their way into the room. "Hey man, it's good to see ya' still with us!" Nash comes over and pats Hogan on the shoulder. "We're pretty sure we know who did this to you." "Is that so?" asks Jeff Jarrett.
"Ain't it obvious?" asks Scott Hall, who leans himself onto the cabinet as Nash continues to talk. "Last Monday was the biggest night in Hulk Hogan's career and Total Nonstop Action's history. Who comes out to try and ruin it? Samoa Joe. Now I know you're knew around here, but me and Scott here, we've got history with Joe and it's crystal clear what happened. Someone attacks you with a baseball bat the same night that Sting returns with his own bat to stop us from taking care of Joe? He's always been against us, Hulk. It was Joe and Sting." Hogan and Jarrett look to each other while thinking about what was just said, before Jarrett turns and looks to Hogan. "Ya know, they do got a point. Other than you, all we found was a black baseball bat."
Hogan leans back in his chair, covering his face up with his hands. He lets out a deep breath before sitting back up straight. "You're all making sense, but I'm gonna need to think this through before the show tonight. I'll talk to everyone later." Hogan motions for everyone to leave the office as the camera fades back to ringside. The ring bell sounds and we're on to our next contest.
2. Matt Morgan and Hernandez def. Generation Me Matt Morgan and Jeremy Buck started off the match and from the get go you could tell it was a miss-match. Any offense thrown at Morgan from either one of Generation Me was pretty much shrugged off and instead they were just thrown around all match. Hernandez came in for the finish, hitting Max Buck with the Border Toss and securing the three count.
After the match, Jeremy Buck was picked up by Matt Morgan and hit with a chokeslam before being kicked out of the ring. The crowd boos at the unnecessary attack, but Morgan and Hernandez don't care. Matt Morgan grabs onto a microphone as Hernandez motions around for a title around his waist to the hard cam. Morgan looks directly into the same camera and shouts "We're coming for those tag team titles!" and then drops the microphone on to the ring mat. The crowd boos some more as the camera goes backstage.
ODB is shown to be standing alone in a hallway. She looks at the camera, taking a drink from a bottle that she's holding, before stepping closer to the camera."Awesome Kong... Hamada... you two think you can screw with my shot at the Knockouts championship? I've been screwed multiple times, and ain't none of them got to me like this. And what's got me even more messed up..." ODB takes a swig out of a bottle before continuing on, "what's got me even more messed up is that I get my rematch with Tara at Genesis, but now I've got to deal with Kong too? Hah! I'm going to show the world why they call me One Dirty B****. Kong or Hamada, which ever of you wants a piece of this, come meet me in the ring right now." ODB takes a final drink of her bottle before walking off camera as TNA iMPACT goes to another commercial break.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. ODB def. Hamada Hamada was the one to answer ODB's call out, coming out without Awesome Kong. ODB bumrushes Hamada as soon as she gets in the ring and the two brawl before getting separated and a match bell being rang. The match officially starts as ODB furiously beats on Hamada, who shoves her off and gets in some offense of her own. The two have a quick match where ODB wins after hitting her with the move she calls "Bam."
Not even ten seconds after the final bell was sounded, Tara appears on the screen smiling and holding a glass case holding her pet tarantula in her hand. "So it seems like instead of just facing you at Genesis, ODB, we've got one Awesome Kong to deal with as well. You don't scare me, and neither does Kong. I don't care who I have to go through, I'm kee-..." Tara's head collides with the camera and she drops to the ground, revealing her attacker Awesome Kong. Kong picks Tara up and slams her on the ground backstage, while ODB watches in the ring still. Kong looks down at the fallen champion, picking up her Knockouts title and the glass case with her pet tarantula Poison. She then throws the glass case off the screen, where we here glass shatter. Kong laughs manically, stepping on the stomach of Tara, while also raising up Knockouts championship as the camera cuts back back to Mike Tenay and Taz at the commentary booth.
"Wow, did we just witness Kong murder Tara's pet Poison?" asks Taz to Mike. "I don't know, all I know is that it appears official, Tara will be defending her Knockouts Championship against Awesome Kong and ODB at Genesis. Now on to other news, one of the other major announcements that came out of last week's historic TNA iMPACT show, was the return of Jeff Hardy." The camera shows a small clip of Hardy sitting at ringside before coming back to Tenay and Taz. "We're getting word that coming up next, Jeff Hardy will make his in ring return and he'll be going one on one with Homicide."
We return to the office of Hulk Hogan, where he's sitting by himself on the phone. There's not even a knock at his door, the door is just kicked open and Samoa Joe walks into the frame. Hogan hangs up the phone and gets directly to his feet. "What do you think you're doing, barging into my office jack?"
"You really think Sting and I attacked you last week huh? Is that what you think?" Joe tenses up, looking at Hogan in confusion and anger. "Your boys attacked me twice last week, I damn well should have, but I didn't." Hogan responds, "listen Joe, we're still investigating the matter and nothing's certain yet. I know you and Sting had issues with Hall and Nash last week, but you kinda had it coming to ya' brother. You actually came out and attacked them."
Joe gets visibly more frustrated as Hogan keeps talking. "Listen brother, I've got an idea. I'm here for all those maniacs out there that want to see new, fresh faces in the world of pro wrestling, so why don't we give them that. At Genesis, you and Sting are going to go up against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Prove yourself while I try and figure out what happened last week. And where is Sting anyways?" Joe calms down slightly and smiles to himself at the thought of getting to take on Hall and Nash. "Nobody ever sees Sting, Hulk. But you really gonna put me in there with ya boys on Sunday? Hah, I'm ready to whoop their asses." Joe slaps his hand on Hogan's desk and walks out of the office.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Jeff Hardy def. Homicide The crowd was ecstatic for the return of The Charismatic Enigma, but Homicide was here to play spoiler. Homicide tried to keep Hardy grounded, and did for about the first couple minutes before Jeff broke free and was able to get in some of his own signature offense. Homicide was tough during the match, but he couldn't stop the onslaught of the returning Jeff Hardy and lost the match after being hit with a Swanton Bomb.
Hardy climbs up onto the turnbuckle and celebrates his first victory back in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling to the roars of the crowd, before his music abruptly stops. Hardy looks around in confusion, getting down off the top rope as the music of Desmond Wolfe plays. "Jeff, I know it's your big day and let me be the first to welcome you back to TNA. We're all sooo happy to see you here." Desmond Wolfe continues to walk his way to the ring as Hardy stands in the center, keeping an eye on him. " Now you might be wondering to yourself, I've been irrelevant since I first left TNA, so who is this guy interrupting me?" Wolfe makes his way onto the apron of the ring. "Let me introduce myself to you, I'm Desmond Wolfe, the greatest wrestler in the world..."
Wolfe enters the ring completely now, causing Hardy to get into a fighting stance. "Hold on, I'm not here to attack you..." That doesn't effect Hardy, who stays in a defensive position, waiting for Wolfe to attack him." I've got my own match tonight, and I need to stay fresh." At this point, Jeff Hardy acquires a microphone and raises it up to his own mouth, interrupting Desmond Wolfe. "What do want then huh?" Hardy retorts back.
"What do I want? I want a match with you. You're the big name that just arrived here in my company. You're the one that quote unquote crossed the line. I'm here to show anyone who thinks they can come into TNA and take the spotlight off of me, well you're in for a world of pain." Hardy rubs his chin and looks back at Desmond. Jeff raises up his microphone again but gets cut off. "Now now, don't go making your decisions on a whim. Watch my match tonight against D'Angelo Dinero. After my match, let the world know you're decision. We'll all be waiting." Desmond Wolfe drops his microphone and exits the ring as the camera goes to a clip of the Motor City Machine Guns beating Team 3D last week. The clip of the Machine Guns beating Brother Ray leads back into a camera shot of the empty ring.
5. The Motor City Machine Guns def. Beer Money Announced to the fans at home and in the arena as Beer Money made their way to the ring, the winners of this match will receive a tag team title match against The British Invasion at Genesis. With such high stakes for this match, there was a nice intensity that got the crowd into the match. In this fifteen minute match, Alex Shelley lead a lot of the offense on Robert Roode before tagging in Chris Sabin. James Storm came in and took over the match, but the Machine Guns fought their way back into the match, edging out a victory with a roll up on James Storm.
"The Motor City Machine Guns have done it! They are going to Genesis to face off against The British Invasion!" exclaims Mike Tenay. Shelley and Sabin celebrate in the ring as the camera goes backstage to the locker room of The British Invasion, watching the match finish on their television. Jeremy Borash comes into the locker room to get their thoughts on the match. "I'm Jeremy Borash, here with The British Invasion. We just witnessed The Motor City Machine Guns win the opportunity to challenge for your Tag Team Championships at Genesis. Any thoughts?" Doug Williams looks over to Brutus Magnus and laughs before patting Rob Terry on the shoulder. Without any words exchanged, Terry gets up and towers over Jeremy Borash, who stumbles back. Rob slowly walks forwards towards Borash until he exits the locker room, and slams the door shut in his face. Jeremy Borash looks defeated as you can hear laughter coming out from behind the door.
As the camera follows Jeremy Borash walking away from the door, The Beautiful People appear down the hall. The three of the girls are arguing about something that can't really be made out as the camera gets closer to them. "That disgusting pig last week, ugh!" groans Lacey Von Erich to Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne. "It's okay, I heard we we're one of the most viewed parts of iMPACT las-.."
"Hey uh, any of y'all have a light?" Rob Van Dam walks up to The Beautiful People, again in full ring gear, interrupting their conversation. All three of them turn and look to RVD in disgust. "Woah ladies, if ya don't have one, no worries." Velvet Sky looks RVD in the face, "You sure got some nerve coming back up to us after last week Rob." "Woah, some nerve? I was just there to have some fun and enjoy myself." "UGH! Let's go." The Beautiful People all scamper away from Rob Van Dam off camera as he shrugs to himself and goes back on his hunt for a lighter.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Sarita and Taylor Wilde def. The Beautiful People In a quick match, Sarita and Taylor Wilde pretty much controlled the whole time. Velvet Sky got in a little bit of offense at the beginning of the match, but as soon as Madison Rayne was tagged in, Sarita and Taylor Wilde took over. The match didn't take very long to end as Madison Rayne was finished off by the Wilde Ride.
Following the match, we cut backstage to Amazing Red, standing backstage next to Christy Hemme. Red pats his X-Divison championship on his shoulder, looking over to Christy Hemme who raises up her microphone. "I'm here with our X-Divison champion Amazing Red. Now Red, I'm told you have an announcement you want to make to the iMPACT audience. Would you like to let everyone know what that announcement is?" Amazing Red gives a smirk before taking the microphone for himself. "I'm gonna keep this short and sweet for everyone. It dawned on me today that I don't have a challenger for my X-Divison Championship at Genesis. I thought to myself, should I just keep quiet and sit at home and rest? No! That's not what a true X-Division champion should do!" The crowd gives a minor applause at The Amazing Red for wanting to compete. "Christy, there's all these new faces coming into TNA, and what better way to defend my championship than in an open challenge against someone who want's to cross the line?" The crowd cheers at the sound of a possible debut of a new superstar. "You heard it here, Amazing Red will take any comers at Genesis that want a bite at his X-Division Championship!" says Taz, as Christy Hemme smiles at the camera.
Hemme's smile fades out into a TNA on tour commercial for shows in Canada in the following weeks. Highlighted in the commercial are X-Division stars such as Black Machismo and Suicide. Also included in the video package are AJ Styles and Eric Young. As the commercial ends, we see Eric Young in a backstage area holding his Global Championship. "You might be wondering why I haven't competed in the past two weeks. Well... let me remind you! I won't defend this Global Championship for any of you born in the US. Hell, I'm not even going to defend my title on TV for you. If you want to see me defend this Global Championship, you better have a passport. Hah!" A cheeky ad for the Canadian shows shows up at the bottom of the screen underneath Eric Young. "I'll be your Global Champion forever, there's nobody in the world that can take this championship from me!"
"Well folks it's now time for our main event!" exclaims Mike Tenay. Desmond Wolfe's music plays as he makes his way to the ring. "We still haven't heard from Jeff Hardy, but I'm sure he'll be watching this match closely!" says Taz. "Will he accept Desmond Wolfe's challenge? Can Desmond Wolfe take his mind off of Hardy for the night to beat D'Angelo Dinero? We'll find out after our final break!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Desmond Wolfe def. D'Angelo Dinero D'Angelo Dinero and Desmond Wolfe face off in our main event for the evening. Dinero talks a little trash to Wolfe, who responds by locking him up and putting him in a headlock. Wolfe and Dinero have a back and fourth grappling exchange before going into the ropes and getting separated by the referee. Throughout the match, Desmond Wolfe keeps calling out Jeff Hardy, at one point just yelling at him through the camera while Dinero is in a head lock. Dinero uses that as a distraction to break free and rakes Wolfe's eyes. D'angelo hits Wolfe with a superplex that gets him a two count, to his own shock. Dinero mounts Desmond and lays in some ground and pound, with Wolfe covering up his own head for safety. The two get back to their feet and Desmond Wolfe takes over, hitting him with an aram drag and then a powerslam. Dinero tries to keep in the match, but he just cant. After being hit with the Tower of London, Desmond Wolfe get's the pinfall victory.
Desmond Wolfe stands up in the ring and raises his arms up in victory. "Desmond Wolfe has beaten D'Angelo Dinero! Now he has his eyes on only one ma-.." Modest by PeroxWhy?gen, Jeff Hardy's theme song, interrupts Mike Tenay. Desmond Wolfe turns his attention to the ramp, with a big smile on his face. The crowd erupts in a cheer, but nobody comes out from the ramp. An unsuspecting Desmond Wolfe is spun around by Jeff Hardy, who slipped into the ring behind him, and hits him with a Twist of Fate. The arena explodes in a cheer, as Jeff Hardy throws up a taunt and rips off his shirt. Desmond Wolfe is out on the mat, and the entire Impact Zone knows what's next. Jeff Hardy climbs his way to the top of the ropes, leaping off and hitting Desmond Wolfe with a swanton bomb. The Impact Zone is deafening, chanting "Hardy, Hardy, Hardy!" Jeff walks around the ring, pacing back and fourth as Desmond Wolfe lay on the ground in agony.
"I think we've got Jeff's answer!" shouts Taz, trying to be louder than the Impact Zone crowd. "Jeff Hardy vs Desmond Wolfe, live this Sunday at Genesis! We hope to see everyone there this Sunday night!" Hardy climbs onto the second rope and poses to the fans as TNA iMPACT fades out for the night.

January 17th, 2010: Impact Zone in Orlando, FL
"In the beginning, life bestows upon us the capacity to achieve... and on this night, for the great men, destiny will reveal herself." TNA Genesis opens up to a video package featuring stock images of man's greatest achievements, spliced in with clips of Kurt Angle debuting, AJ Styles winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and Hulk Hogan posing in the ring. We hear voice clips from many wrestlers that we will see tonight, talking about their destiny and what they'll do to achieve it, followed by footage from the prior weeks of iMPACT, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash attacking Samoa Joe, Awesome Kong throwing Poison off screen, Kurt Angle and AJ Styles facing off, and Jeff Hardy hitting Desmond Wolfe with a swanton bomb. "He who want's it most, shall have it all."
"And now... TNA Wrestling presents Genesis." Pyro shoots off from The Impact Zone's ceiling as the crowd cheers. More pyro shoots off from the ramp and after the smoke clears, we see our broadcast team of Mike Tenay and Taz. "Welcome everybody to another historic night for TNA Wrestling. I'm Mike Tenay, here with my broadcast partner Taz, and we can't wait for what's in store tonight." "That's right Mike, will tonight be Kurt Angle's last oppurtunity at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship? We'll find out later tonight!" "And will Samoa Joe and Sting co-exist as a tag team when they face Scott Hall and Kevin Nash? Tonight will for sure be one for the ages." Taz and Mike Tenay continue to run down the rest of the card before bringing up the TNA PPV debut of Hulk Hogan.
As if planned, at the mention of Hulk Hogan, his music starts playing over the speakers in the arena to the excitement of the audience. Loud "Hogan" chants can be heard as Hulk walks out with palm to his ear. He taunts to the crowd, doing his bicep poses, causing the crowd to get louder, before he makes his way to the newly 4 sided ring. As he enters the ring, he grabs onto a microphone and walks to the center and absorbed in the energy of the packed Impact Zone. "Wow, brother, you TNA-Maniacs are loud!" The crowd gets louder than ever before, chanting "TNA TNA TNA" causing Hogan to take a step back. "It's great to see you're all so excited for Genesis, I share the same feeling brother. I just came out here to welcome all of you maniacs to Genesis and to be prepared for a hell of a show. I've been talking to some of the dudes in the back, and if everything goes to plan, we're going to be talking about this one for a long time brother!" The crowd chants for Hogan, who raises up his hands and waves to the crowd as he makes his way to the back.
As Hogan walks to the back, we get a quick recap video of the story behind this World Tag Team Championship match. The Motor City Machine Guns are mostly highlighted, with their most recent wins over Team 3D and Beer Money being shown. Various clips and voice clips are played from The British Invasion as well, before the camera fades back into the arena and we here the opening ring bell.
World Tag Team Championship - British Invasion (c) vs. Motor City Machine Guns
Doug Williams and Alex Shelley start off the match with a quick lock up before Shelley gets control and sends Williams into the corner. Alex hits a running knee to Doug, dropping him onto his bottom in the corner. Shelley looks back and runs at the ropes, rebounding over and kneeing Doug in the face again. Brutus Magnus tries to get in the ring but is stopped by the referee. Doug eventually gets back some momentum, but Shelley escapes at the right time to get a quick tag to Chris Sabin. Chris hops onto the top rope and hits Doug with a flying clothesline. Sabin and Doug go back and fourth until Williams gets Sabin into his corner and tags in Magnus. Magnus throws Sabin around the ring, beating him down until Shelley can get tagged back in. Alex Shelley gets the crowd behind him and tries to mount a comeback starting with a few punches, but gets suplexed for his troubles. Magnus looks down to Shelley, who crawls over to Sabin, and picks him up right before he can tag in his teammate. Magnus carries him to the center of the ring and hits Shelley with his signature twisting samoan drop known as "Tormentum." Doug Williams sneaks around the other side of the ring and pulls Sabin down as Magnus goes in for a pin attempt. Sabin pushes off Williams but doesn't make it back into the ring in time, as the ref counts the three. British Invasion defeats Motor City Machine Guns to remain the TNA World Tag Team Champions!
As the bell sounds, Doug Williams and Rob Terry get into the ring to celebrate with Brutus Magnus, raising the Tag Team titles over their heads and laughing as the camera fades backstage. Backstage is the TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles. Standing to his right is Jeremy Borash, who raises his microphone up to his mouth. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm here with one of our two competitors in tonight's main event. I'm standing here with our TNA World Heavyweight Champion, The Phenomenal AJ Styles. Now AJ, how do you feel going into tonight's match, knowing that if you beat Kurt Angle, he can't challenge you again for that World Heavyweight Championship?" AJ looks to Borash and kinda has a chuckle. "How do I feel? I feel great! I beat Kurt Angle just a few weeks ago on iMPACT and I'm confident I'm going to do it again. The fact that I won't have to deal with Kurt anymore after I beat him is just icing on the cake." Styles steps back from the microphone and pats the World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder.
"Well it seems like you're ready for Kurt Angle tonight, but are you ready for the possibility of outside interference?" AJ Styles goes from being happy and laughing to a serious look on his face. "Outside interference? Shoot, I'd like to see them try." AJ looks over to the camera as it fades back to the arena.
There's a wide crowd shot shown to the viewers at home before the X-Division championship appears on the screen and Amazing Red's music starts to play. "It looks like it's time for Amazing Red's open challenge!" exclaims Taz to the audience at home. "Last Monday on iMPACT, Amazing Red said he would take on all comers and challenged anyone who wanted to cross the line, to come out and face him for the X-Division championship. Who do you think we'll see tonight Taz?" asks Tenay as Amazing Red makes his way down to the ring, clapping the hands the fans at ringside. "I don't know Mike, for all I know, it could be you crossing the announcing line! Hahaha!" Tenay lets out a laugh of his own as the camera focuses on Amazing Red, in the ring handing off his X-Division championship to the referee. Slowly, the camera turns to the ramp while the crowd waits in anticipation to see who it could be accepting The Amazing Red's open challenge.
The screen on the ramp turns black, before a studded "B" and a "K" rise up to the center of the screen. The crowd cheers as a generic rock song plays and the "B" and "K" turn into "Brian Kendrick." More of the crowd cheer as Brian Kendrick makes his way onto the ramp with a microphone. "Red... You wanted someone to cross the line, so here I am. I'm the man with the plan, and that plan starts tonight." Kendrick throws his microphone to the side and sprints into the ring, sliding under the bottom rope before popping back up to his feet and looking directly at the X-Division championship that is in the hands of the referee. "It looks like we have our challenger, and it's Brian Kendrick!"
X-Division Championship - Amazing Red (c) vs. Brian Kendrick
Brian Kendrick takes off his coat and throws it to the side, ready for war with Amazing Red. Red isn't backing down either, and gets the first shot of the match by hitting Kendrick with a quick enziguri. Red goes for a quick cover and only gets a one count. Brian Kendrick gets back up rather quickly and takes offense to the enziguri, going back at Red with offense of his own. The match is high paced, which is fitting for the X-Division, and they get the crowd behind them rather quickly with Red's high flying off the top ropes. Red lands a flying moonsault onto Kendrick, which causes him to roll out of the ring in frustration and pain, but Red doesn't waste any time and gets back to his feet and launches himself over the top rope, onto Kendrick on the outside. The crowd chants "TNA TNA!" as Red gets back to his feet and pumps up the crowd, but he stops paying attention to Kendrick. Kendrick slowly gets back to his feet while Red's back is turned and sends Red flying into the turnbuckle post. Red's head cracks open on the post, and as he flops to the floor the camera catches a glimpse of a little blood. Kendrick spots the blood himself and stomps on Red before sending him back into the ring. Brian climbs back up into the ring himself, and puts Red in a head lock. Brian rakes at where Amazing Red's head had been busted open, getting a little bit more blood out. Kendrick lets out a laugh at Red's screams, and he lets him go to taunt a downed Red to the dismay of the fans. Brian Kendrick follows Amazing Red as he crawls back to the corner, still clutching his head. Kendrick seizes the opportunity and lifts Red to his feet before using the turnbuckle to plant Red with the Sliced Bread #2. The crowd boos Brian as he pins Red's shoulders to the mat for the three count.
Brian Kendrick defeats The Amazing Red to become the new TNA X-Division Champion!
Brian Kendrick stands back up to his feet, wiping the blood from his hands onto his white trunks. Amazing Red lays out on the mat as the referee comes to Brian and awards him his newly won X-Division championship. "We've got ourselves a new X-Division champion, and it's Brian Kendrick!" shouts Mike Tenay. Kendrick raises the championship over his head as again the crowd boos him. Kendrick only smiles to the camera in the ring, before getting close to the camera and going "This is only the beginning." He looks over to the downed Red and shakes his head before leaving the ring.
As Kendrick leaves the ring, the camera cuts back over to the announcing team of Mike Tenay and Taz. Taz looks over to Mike Tenay, who begins to speak. "With the arrival of Hulk Hogan here in TNA Wrestling, we were promised changed, and you may have already notice some of the changes he's made tonight. It's hard to miss it, but a staple of TNA Wrestling, our six sided ring, has been changed to a more classic four sided ring. We also have ourselves a new X-Division champion in Brian Kendrick. Change can be good, but not in the eye of everyone. Let's take you backstage to Sting and Samoa Joe, with Christy Hemme."
"Hi everyone, I'm here with the two men who will face off against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall tonight, Samoa Joe and Sting. Now Sting, you've been silent with your words throughout the past few weeks, but you've been rather loud with your actions when you backed up Samoa Joe against Nash and Hall. Everyone knows you have history with the three, what are your thoughts going into this match tonight against those two?" Sting just stands silently and pats his bat in his palm, as Joe interrupts. "I don't mean to interrupt Christy, but I heard Tenay out there talking about how Hulk Hogan is bringing change to TNA. Change? You want some change Hogan, because I can show you change. If you're not going to change your mind about who attacked you two weeks ago, well then... I think I'm gonna change your friends' career paths tonight after I'm done with them." Christy goes to raise her mic back up, but Sting puts his palm over the microphone. She lowers the microphone while Sting shakes his head, as the video feed cuts back to Hulk Hogan's office.
Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Jeff Jarrett are all in Hulk's office, standing in a circle. "You see what I've been telling you big man? Joe's clearly out to get you." Kevin Nash points to the TV off in the corner of the room, which had been showing the feed from the Samoa Joe and Sting. "Ay, an innocent man isn't gonna talk like that mang. Change career paths, hah." Hall nudges Nash, who looks over to Jarrett and Hulk rubbing their chins. "You guys got a point. Hulk, listen, we've almost got this all figured out what happened that night," says Jeff Jarrett, "and from what I've been being told, once we get that confirmation, we're gonna boot Joe and Sting right out of TNA. Nobody should be attacking The Hulkster." "I don't know brother, we've gotta figure this out soon. I came here with ideas, and to put those into motion, I don't need two dudes messing me up brother. Hall and Nash, take care of them for me tonight." "You've got it Hulk," says Nash and Hall as they exit Hogan's locker room, leaving Jarrett and Hogan alone. "Ideas, huh?" asks Jarrett to Hogan, as the camera cuts back to the arena.
"Just this past week, we saw the in ring return of The Charismatic Enigma, Jeff Hardy. Let's take you back to what happened last week on iMPACT." says Mike Tenay, as a clip of Hardy's match with Homicide plays, showing him landing his Swanton Bomb on Jeff Hardy. Hardy is in the ring celebrating when Desmond Wolfe interrupts him and tells him that he wants a match with Hardy, but not to give him an answer right now. The video then changes to Desmond Wolfe facing off with D'Angelo Dinero, where Wolfe gets the victory. Hardy's music plays and distracts Desmond, who doesn't see Jeff sneak into the ring. Hardy hits Wolfe with the twist of fate and then we here a sound clip of Taz saying "I think we've got Jeff's answer!" The last visual is Jeff Hardy celebrating in the ring as the camera comes back to live Impact Zone, as Jeff Hardy's music plays.
Jeff Hardy vs. Desmond Wolfe
Desmond Wolfe enters the ring, only to catch a kick right to the side of the head by Hardy. "And here we go!" shouts Taz as the match bell sounds. Desmond stumbles back to his feet but gets kicked again by Hardy, causing him to fall into the ropes after the two un-suspected kicks. Hardy lays in on Desmond, but Desmond uses his technical prowess to take back control and ground Hardy into the mat. Wolfe drills Hardy in the gut with some knees before raising him back up to his feet and hitting with a back breaker. The crowd booes at Desmond, but he doesn't care. He leans down to pick Jeff back up and catches another boot to the head. Hardy rolls himself back to his feet before getting Wolfe with a sitout jawbreaker. The crowd chants for Hardy as he grabs onto Desmond Wolfe's legs and spreads them apart, hitting him with his double leg drop. Wolfe rolls outside of the ring in pain, laying on the mat as the crowd continues the chant for Jeff Hardy. Using the steel barricade, Desmond Wolfe gets himself back to his feet and stumbles backwards before getting hit with a baseball slide by Hardy. Desmond Wolfe's whole body collides with the barricade and he falls to the ground in pain again. Hardy slips out of the ring and continues with his offense outside, before pushing Desmond back into the ring at the count of 8. Hardy goes to pick up Wolfe again, but is instead rolled up into a pin. One, two, Hardy breaks free right before the three count. Wolfe and Hardy get back to their feet at the same time, with Desmond throwing the first strike, chopping Hardy in the throat. Wolfe then hits Hardy with the "divorce court" before going for another pin attempt, but again only getting a two count. The two are both down in the center of the ring, with Wolfe getting to his feet first. Hardy gets up to his feet too, with his back turned to Desmond. Wolfe screams out as Hardy turns to face him. Desmond goes in for his Jawbreaker Lariat, but Hardy ducks out of the way and kicks Desmond in the stomach before hitting him with a quick Twist of Fate. The crowd erupts in a cheer as Hardy stumbles over to the corner and climbs up the turnbuckle. He does one more final taunt as he stands on the top turnbuckle, before leaping off and nailing Desmond Wolfe with the swanton bomb. Jeff immediately goes in for the cover and gets the three count. Jeff Hardy defeats Desmond Wolfe!
Jeff Hardy gets back up to his feet, clutching his stomach, and celebrates his victory. The crowd chants "Hardy, Hardy, Hardy!" while he climbs his way to the top rope, throwing out his two finger taunts to the crowd. As he hops off the top rope and back to the ring, he doesn't realize Desmond Wolfe has recovered and gets drilled with the Jawbreaker Lariat. Desmond Wolfe drops to a knee in pain from the match, beside the downed Jeff Hardy. He clutches the bottom of his head and raises it up to himself, saying a few words before throwing his head to the side and stumbling his way out of the ring. "Why would Desmond Wolfe do such a thing?" ponders Mike Tenay as the camera goes back to the downed Hardy in the ring.
Backstage we see The Beautiful People, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, and Lacey Von Erich talking to The Pope D'Angelo Dinero. They seem to be having a good time, when off in the distance Rob Van Dam appears. Sky notices him immediately and cringes in disgust, whispering something to Dinero, who perks his head up at Rob. Van Dam minds his own business and just walks past the group, but stops as he gets shouted at by D'Angelo. "Ay man, The Pope want's to know why you been bothering these girls?" RVD turns around and laughs slightly "Bother them? I was just trying enjoy myself man, you know what time it is, it's 4:20!" The Beautiful People talk under their breath at the response, while Dinero looks back to RVD. "Now listen, The Pope doesn't have a watch but he knows it isn't 4:20. Now these girls been saying you've been causing 'em problems. If you're causing them problems, Pope's gonna take care of it." "Hey man, I ain't mean to start nothing. I'm honestly just looking for some water." Dinero steps out from the group and gets into the face of RVD. "I don't care what you're doing, what you're going to do is meet me out there in that ring." RVD laughs again "Alright man, whatever you say I guess." Dinero looks as serious as you can in a face mask, while RVD walks off camera. Genesis airs a commercial for TNA merchandise featuring Don West, who also mentions the house shows that will be happening in Canada, before going back to the Impact Zone. The crowd erupts in cheers as Rob Van Dam's music plays over the speakers.
D'Angelo Dinero vs Rob Van Dam
Before the match can start, the crowd is already behind Rob Van Dam, who does his signature "RVD" thumb taunt. Dinero rushes over to Van Dam back hands him in the face, causing RVD to step back and fall to a knee. RVD returns fire with a quick kick to the gut and then a scissors kick to the back of Dinero's head. The crowd cheers as RVD continues with an onslaught of kicks while D'Angelo just tries to get back to his feet. Dinero slips out of the ring to get away from Rob, but that doesn't work either as he simply dives through the ropes onto Dinero. Van Dam pops back up to his feet immediatly and hops onto the steel stairs, playing to the crowd. "Rob, Van, Dam!" RVD lowers his arms back down and jumps off of the stairs, attempting to leg drop D'Angelo, but has into the ground instead. As D'angelo rolls farther away from Van Dam, the refs count gets higher to ten, causing Dinero to roll back into the ring, with the ref's count gets to 9 before Van Dam follows him. Dinero picks up RVD and hits him with a German suplex before stomping his head a couple times and spitting down on RVD. Rob tries to kick up at Dinero, but his foot is caught and instead is kicked directly in the thigh. Dinero picks up Van Dam and smashes him in the face with his forearm. Van Dam stumbles back in pain as Dinero follows him and smashes him with another forearm. Rob's back eventually touches the turnbuckle and he's cornered as Dinero hits him with a punching combination. Van Dam finally gets back on offense after a beat down from Dinero after he slips out of another German Suplex attempt and instead hits Dinero with a Northern Lights suplex, getting only a 2 count. Van Dam gets back to his feet and does a leg drop to Dinero, afterwards realing the position D'Angelo is in. Laying parallel to the ring ropes, Van Dam runs to the ropes and rebounds off them, frontwards rolling in the ring as he attempts a Rolling Thunder, but D'Angelo Dinero gets his knees up. RVD groans out in pain as Dinero crawls to the other corner and gets back to his feet. With RVD in the opposite corner, D'Angelo realizes his opportunity and waits for RVD to get back up. Slowly, Van Dam uses the ropes in the corner to pull himself up, only to be hit in the back by D'Angelo Dinero's double knees. Mike Tenay lets the fans know at home that D'Angelo calls that the DDE, as Dinero gets on top of Rob Van Dam for the pinfall. The ref counts the pin, one, two, three, the match is over.
D'Angelo Dinero defeats Rob Van Dam!
Dinero rises back up to his feet with a smirk on his face, looking directly at the camera. The referee raises his hand as off camera, all of The Beautiful People run down from the ramp to celebrate in the ring with Dinero. They all push RVD out of the ring with their feet before returning to Dinero and congratulating him. The last shot before heading back to the announcers booth is one of Rob Van Dam, looking confused outside of the ring.
"Well folks, it looks like D'Angelo Dinero has made some new friends with that victory of RVD tonight." explains Mike Tenay. "If I'd of known it'd have gotten me The Beautiful People as my personal entourage by beating up Rob Van Dam, I'd of shown them clips from ECW!" laughs Taz. "Well all joking aside, our next match up has some serious beef backstage. Ever since the arrival of Hulk Hogan, Samoa Joe and Sting have been unhappy with what they've seen and it's caused friction with Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. Let's take a look at what's lead us up to this match tonight."
"Whatcha gonna do, when Hulk Hogan and TNA run right through you, brother?" the sound clip of Hulk Hogan is the first that is shown in the video package, before cutting directly to when Kevin Nash and Scott Hall joining Hogan in the ring. The video highlights Hogan's first speech before being interrupted by Samoa Joe, who was upset with Hulk Hogan's idea of giving Kurt Angle a title shot and bad mouthing Sean Waltman. Cutting from that, the next thing we see are clips of Waltman being choked out, followed by Joe being attacked later on by Hall and Nash. Following that, the clip is shown of Sting making his return to the ring, pointing the black baseball bat at Nash and Hall. The editing makes note to focus on the baseball bat, before showing Hulk Hogan bloodied backstage, before being tended to by the TNA medical team and Jeff Jarrett. Again, the editing focuses on the baseball bat leaning off on the side before showing clips from the previous weeks iMPACT. Finally, we see Hulk Hogan making the match for tonight before cutting to the match graphic.
As we re-enter The Impact Zone, the crowd erupts in cheers at the sound of Hulk Hogan's music. Walking out from opposite sides of the ramp are Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett. The two meet in the center of the ramp, before shaking hands and walking down towards the ring. "I guess Hogan and Jarrett wanted to watch what's going to happen in first hand Tenay!" explains Taz as the two make their way ringside and sit down in two steel chairs close to the ring. Hulk Hogan's music stops playing as the lights dim for the first entrances.
Sting & Samoa Joe vs Kevin Nash & Scott Hall
Joe doesn't even wait for the bell to sound, going directly at Kevin Nash. Sting follows suit, clubbing Scott Hall in the head as the bell rings, starting the contest. Nash is immediately pinned in the corner, getting punches in the stomach by Joe, as Sting has Scott Hall in the same position in a separate corner. Joe steps back for a running knee, but Nash side steps Joe and lets him run into the corner. Joe stumbles back and eats a clothesline, causing Sting to look over at his downed partner. This gives enough time for Scott Hall to poke Sting in the eye and shove him back. The crowd boos at the eye poke, and Hall taunts the crowd, not caring what they think. Hall brawls with Sting while Nash picks up Joe and hits him with an elbow and then an uppercut. Kevin whips Joe to the ropes, where he rebounds and ducks under Nash's big boot attempt, taking out his other leg in the process. Joe then runs over to Sting and Hall, who are still just brawling on the side, and tackles Hall to the ground. Hall is repeatedly punched in the face by Samoa Joe, who looks over at Hogan and Jarrett and yells "Is this all you've got?" The camera shows a concerned look on Hogan's face, while Jarrett looks angry at Joe. Back behind everyone else, Kevin Nash and Sting trade blows before Nash is hit with a Stinger Splash in the corner, following it up with a DDT. Joe and Sting stand overtop the downed Nash and Hall, before looking to each other and having a fist bump. Sting attempts a pin fall on Nash, while Joe keeps an eye on Hall, but the ref is only able to count to two before Kevin Nash throws up a shoulder. Sting bends down to pick up Nash, but again is poked in the eye. Joe doesn't realize what happened, as he's back beating on Hall, and so is caught off guard when Nash clubs him in the back of the head. Kevin Nash grabs a hold of Joe and chucks him over the ropes, where he lands directly in front of Hogan and Jarrett. Nash picks up Hall and directs Hall to take care of Joe outside of the ring, as he goes back to Sting and sends him out of the ring as well. The two go their separate ways, as Sting and Nash brawl into the crowds, while Joe takes back control and brings Hall up the ramp. Meanwhile, during all of the fighting outside of the ring, the referee is still counting everyone out. But none of the competitors seem to care as the referee gets to ten and sounds for the bell. Sting & Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall goes to a double count-out!
The match might be over, but the fighting hasn't stopped. Samoa Joe punches Hall in the face at the top of the ramp, causing him to stumble back towards the announcers table. Tenay and Taz step back, as Joe cracks Hall in the head with a monitor from the desk. Hall leans out in pain on the announcers table, blood slowly appearing on his head, but Joe isn't finished with him yet. Samoa Joe grabs a hold of Scott Hall's head and places it between his thighs, before lifting him up and slamming him through the announcers table. The crowd erupts in cheers as Joe raises his hand over the fallen Scott Hall.
The camera cuts back to Kevin Nash and Sting, having brawled their way to the concessions stand. Sting punches Nash in the stomach, and Nash retorts by hitting him in the head with a box of popcorn and kicking him in the stomach. A group of fans surrounds the two as they continue to beat each other down, before Nash irish whips Sting into the crowd. One of the fans catches Sting in one arm, before driving him backwards into the concrete. The crowd is in shock, while Kevin Nash knew what happened, because he's laughing hysterically and clapping his hands off on the side. The fan who took down Sting, gets back to his feet and raises his head so he can be seen by the camera. "Thats, thats Ken Anderson!" shouts Taz, back on the broadcast booth. "Ken Anderson just took out Sting and, from the looks of things, has joined forces with Kevin Nash!" Nash extends out his arms to Anderson, who embraces him in a hug. The two walk off camera as Sting is being checked on by EMTs.
Cameras cut back to the announcers desk, showing Scott Hall being attended to by medical as well. Hogan and Jarrett are shown watching as Hall is placed onto a stretcher by the EMTs and taken off to the back area, with Samoa Joe no where to be seen. The final shot is of Hulk Hogan, before cutting a small hype package for our Knockouts Championship bout.
Knockouts Championship - Tara (c) vs. ODB vs. Awesome Kong Awesome Kong starts the match off getting double teamed by the rivals Tara and ODB, but Awesome Kong defends herself well, first taking out Tara, and then taking out ODB. Kong is a monster in the ring and just destroys Tara, while ODB watches on from a corner in pain. The match is very quick and one sided as Kong plants Tara with an Awesome Bomb. ODB sees her chance and runs at Kong, only to be caught and planted with an Implant Buster. Kong places herself over top Tara as the referee counts to three. Awesome Kong defeats ODB and Tara to become the new Knockouts Champion!
"What a destructive and one sided performance by our new champion Awesome Kong!" exclaims Mike Tenay, as Kong is handed over the Knockouts championship. Kong snatches the title from the referee and laughs manically as she's joined by Hamada in the ring. ODB and Tara get sent out of the ring by Hamada, clearing the ring for Awesome Kong to stand in the center of the ring with her Knockouts championship, to a mixture of cheers and boos. "That had to be one of the most dominant performances we've seen here in the Knockouts division, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the next girl to challenge Awesome Kong!" exclaims Taz as Genesis fades out to a Five Hour Energy commercial.
"It is now time for the match we've all been waiting for! It's time for AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle for possibly the last time! That's right, if Kurt Angle loses tonight, he will not be able to challenge for the TNA Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship as long as AJ Styles is still the champion." Mike Tenay briefs the fans at home at the stipulation put into place last week on iMPACT, "and from an interview on TNAWrestling.com, we've found out that, to stop any chance of this match not getting a clean finish, there will be No DQ and no count out." A graphic pulls up onto the screen, showing a side by side comparison of AJ Styles and Kurt Angle. "Well let's take a look at the tale of the tape here Mike. Both men are nearly identical in height, with Kurt Angle having a 1 inch advantage at being six feet tall. He also has a twenty five pound weight advantage as well, weighing in at two hundred and forty pounds. AJ Styles comes in nine years younger than Kurt, with a bit less wear and tear on the body. AJ Styles also has quite a bit more experience in a TNA ring, but we're just going to have to wait to see how this one turns out, and I tell ya Mike, I can't wait!"
The video feed cuts from the tale of the tape and shows a clip from 2007 of the first time Kurt Angle and AJ Styles met in the ring, one on one, on an episode of iMPACT. With the backing audio, we hear the narrator say "Two men... destined to fight each other for eternity, or so it seems..." More clips of the two facing off throughout the years appear on the screen, before cutting to the face down they had on the iMPACT before Genesis. "If you don't beat AJ Styles at Genesis brother, you're done getting World Championship shots while AJ is the champion!" The screen changes to sit down interviews with AJ and Kurt, both giving their sides of the story and how they feel about their opponent. AJ Styles is ready to put Kurt Angle in the rear view mirror, and Kurt Angle can't wait to bring that gold back home. A few more clips from the two wrestling run on the screen before going to a live feed of Kurt Angle in the backstage area.
Kurt Angle stands in the hallway, slapping his face and hyped up, ready to make his entrance. The video feed cuts to a split screen, also showing AJ Styles who is pretty much doing the same thing. "This match has a big fight feel to it Taz, here we go!" The split screen goes away, as the camera goes back to the Impact Zone as the lights dim and Kurt Angle's music plays over the speakers.
World Heavyweight Championship - AJ Styles (c) vs Kurt Angle The crowd is amped for the match, and the two comeptitors in the ring let the crowd chant back and fourth as they just feed off the energy of the crowd. Angle and AJ stand apart from each other, but keep complete eye contact until the crowd simmers down just enough to let them get their match started. The two start with a lock up, which Kurt Angle cleanly takes control of and slams AJ into the mat. Styles doesn't stay on the mat quickly though, as he pops back up to his feet and locks back up with Angle. This time, AJ Styles gets the better of Kurt Angle, as he slams Angle into the mat. Angle immediately gets back up to his feet as well and gets directly in the face of AJ, coming forehead to forehead. The two exchange blows before Kurt slips behind AJ and attempts a German suplex, which Styles counters by landing on his feet. The two go back and fourth, attempting to one up each other with grappling holds, before getting to the corner of the ring. AJ pushes Angle away, towards the center of the ring, and springboards off the ropes, landing a cross body onto Angle. AJ goes for the quick pin, but only gets a one count. AJ grabs Angle by the neck and pulls him back up before punching and then kneeing Angle in the stomach. AJ climbs behind Angle and locks in a sleeperhold, which Kurt eventually gets out of by reaching behind him and powering AJ back over and onto the mat. Kurt mounts onto AJ and delivers some MMA-like ground and pound before transitioning towards the ankle, going for a quick Ankle Lock. AJ is still fresh enough to where he can slip out before it's locked in and rolls under the bottom rope. AJ gets back to his feet, where Angle walks over to him but catches a forearm to the face. Angle goes at Styles again, this time catching a foot to the face, causing him to stumble back to the center of the ring. AJ leaps onto the top rope, sending himself flying at Angle and smashing his face with a phenomenal forearm. AJ goes for the pinfall but only gets a two count. The crowd cheers back and fourth, "Let's go AJ, let's go Angle," causing Mike Tenay to respond with "This crowd can't make up it's mind on which one of these two great competitors should win this match!"
After a few more blows, the match ends up outside of the ring, where AJ takes control, throwing Angle into the turnbuckle post. Angle flops into the ground as a groggy AJ Styles follows after him, picking him back up to his feet and delivering an array of kicks and punches, before Angle ducks one of them and lifts up AJ, dropping him onto the steel barricade. AJ cries out in pain as he falls back onto the mat below, while Angle seems to get another resurgence of energy. Angle grips AJ by the hair, yanking him back up to his feet, before lifting him back to his shoulders for an Angle Slam. Kurt Angle connects with the Angle Slam, but that energy is all drained from him as he lay out exhausted by his opponent on the mat. "These two men are giving it their all tonight for the chance to be called the TNA Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion." Angle stirs back up to his feet, grabbing a broken AJ Styles, and rolling him back into the ring. Instead of just rolling under the ropes and following AJ, Kurt climbs his way to the top of the turnbuckle. The crowd erupts in cheers as Angle leaps off the top turnbuckle, rotating for a moonsault, but Styles rolls out of the way, causing Angle to crash into the mat. Styles sits up, rubbing his hands through his hair, looking over to a hurt Kurt Angle, and knows it's his opportunity to shine. AJ gets back up to his feet and lifts up Kurt Angle. A couple more forearm strikes, and AJ Styles is ready. Styles places Kurt Angles head in between his thighs and looks directly at the hard cam. AJ spreads his arms out to each side, calling for the Styles Clash, as the lights in the arena go pitch black.
"What's going on?!" shouts out Mike Tenay while the arena is completely dark. As the lights come back on, we see Kurt Angle, holding onto the bottom rope of the ring, looking at AJ Styles and their invader, a figure we've seen before, a man dressed in all black from head to toe, as to not reveal his identity. The sight of this man infuriates AJ, who is standing across from him. Styles lunges himself at the masked man, who evasively dodges AJ, before spinning himself around and smashing Styles in the face with a discus elbow smash. "Someone needs to get this masked man out of here, he's ruining a classic match!" shouts out Taz. The referee and Kurt Angle just sit back and watch as AJ falls into the mat. Styles doesn't stay on the mat long, as the masked man picks him back up to his feet and lifts him up into a suplex position, before turning it into a brainbuster and leaving AJ Styles unconscious on the mat. Seeing that what he came to do had been completed, the masked man rolls himself out of the ring, before leaving through the crowd to a chorus of boos. Back in the ring, Kurt Angle takes complete advantage of the attack, lifting up AJ Styles one more time for an Angle Slam. Kurt Angle covers a beaten AJ Styles for the final pinfall of the night, and gets the three count. Kurt Angle defeats AJ Styles to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion!
"This is certainly not how I expected tonight to go, but we've got ourselves a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion!" shouts Taz, as Kurt Angle stumbles back to his feet. The referee walks over to Kurt with the World championship, handing it to him and raising his hand. Confetti begins to fall in the ring as Kurt Angle celebrates around the fallen AJ Styles, climbing onto the turnbuckle and raising his new championship as pyro shoots off from the ceiling. "What a crazy turn of events. The masked man strikes again and this time costs AJ Styles the World Championship. Tonight's going to be one of those nights where you look back and tell your grandchildren about where you were for Genesis 2010. Thank you for tuning in, and we hope to see you tomorrow on Spike TV for iMPACT! Have a great night!" We see one final shot of Kurt Angle, now at the center of the ramp, raising up his TNA World Heavyweight Championship one more time, as AJ Styles finally comes back to and looks around in anger. Kurt Angle yells out "YEAH!" as TNA Genesis fades to black.

Starting with the January 11 edition of iMPACT! the opening promo appeared to set the stage for what’s to come this Sunday at Genesis. It was fine, I would italicise the quotations if you are going to go about direct quoting. I think the part where you make this your own promotion will come after Genesis, as is typically the case when starting with a pay-per-view to promote using sub-two weeks of build. I got the impression that Hulk Hogan’s language was insider-esque, but again I’m more curious to see where the TNA World Heavyweight Championship picture progresses to in the build-up to Against All Odds in February. I’m not sure I like the modern “main eventer in the opening promo also works the opening match” trope for a 2010. Sure, it’s probably something TNA would have tried in the Monday Night Wars. Just a personal thing. Daniels is in between angles right now, so it made sense to feed him to Kurt Angle. If Kurt doesn’t recapture the title this Sunday, I am curious what your ideas are for him. Likewise the same goes for AJ Styles. So Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are pegging the blame for Sting’s mystery attack on Samoa Joe. I can see this being a long-term story for the first quarter, which is absolutely what you need to start a diary off. Shame about Generation Me eating the loss for heavyweights Matt Morgan and Hernandez. I guess you are opting against reuniting LAX, given they split last summer. Morgan and Hernandez is very much a “Twin Towers” type team, very curious how the dynamic would work against the British Invasion. ODB with the win sets the stage for Tara come Genesis. I never really liked ODB’s work, but can see that match going down well. Where Awesome Kong fits into the equation is another interesting aspect. It creates dimension to the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship picture, and I’m not against Kong killing off Tara’s gimmick spider. Never sat well with me, Tara never needed a mascot. You were backed up against a wall with Hogan’s announcement for the tag match this Sunday at Genesis. Samoa Joe and Sting against Nash and Hall won’t be pretty, but I can easily see that being more of an angle than anything. I hope the Band can incorporate some good bumping machines for their faction, because they don’t belong in the six-sided ring in 2010. Jeff Hardy over Homicide was fine, Homicide’s between stuff. Desmond Wolfe as opposition for Jeff is an interesting move, but I’m more curious how the result goes. With six days build, I feel like Wolfe should logically go over - plus he just beat Kurt Angle little over two months prior. But Jeff is still a very fresh act. Again, the awkward downsides to having two weeks of television to build for a pay-per-view. I hope Homicide gets a TNA X-Division Championship run at some point. The Motor City Machine Guns scoring a big upset over Beer Money, Inc. was unexpected, but what can you do. Again, I’m liking the dimensions of the divisions right now. You set up Hernandez and Morgan earlier as contenders, but with MCMG and the British Invasion competing this Sunday, I can’t help but forecast new champions. More Rob Van Dam hijinks with the Beautiful People…I guess his direction will come in the fallout of Genesis. Sarita and Taylor Wilde going over the Beautiful People was what needed to happen. Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne need something to freshen up their routine at this point in their tenure. Amazing Red hosting an open challenge sounds cool…maybe RVD? I enjoyed the small touch including TNA’s touring schedule stuff in Canada. I forget all about the TNA Global Championship, hopefully you can make that matter with Eric Young or whomever as champion. Lastly, Desmond Wolfe against D’Angelo Dinero…I’m not sure how I feel about this main eventing. Especially with a clean win for Wolfe, capped off by a random attack by Hardy. It felt quite forced, and honestly I would have saved Kurt against Daniels for the main event. For a main event segment opposite WWE RAW, this would have gotten them killed particularly badly. Few kinks to work out here regarding structuring, but the content is good. Again, once you’re past the brick wall known as Genesis I think we can see this diary really take off.
Onto TNA Genesis 2010…Hulk Hogan hotdogging and grandstanding in the opening segment felt realistic for what it was. Was everything it needed to be to get the crowd hot. Wow, I’m pretty surprised you kept the British Invasion as TNA World Tag Team Champions. That said, I feel like with the Motor City Machine Guns you could absolutely afford to give them a hot babyface chase of the titles. I think when you factor in Hernandez and Matt Morgan as up-and-coming obstacles, as well as return matches with recurring rivals in Beer Money, Inc. You could have a hot tag team division uproot from this. AJ struck me as particularly heelish in that interview, perhaps a sign of things to come with the Band? I would not be opposed to be a rehaul of the Styles and Samoa Joe rivalry, should he beat Kurt Angle tonight. Ah so we see the debut of Brian Kendrick, let’s hope he left the wacky hippy gimmick at the door. Kendrick’s still fresh off of his WWE run, and let’s face it - Amazing Red is not a great talker. He’s a great worker and challenger, but definitely did not need the TNA X-Division Championship. Kendrick making Red go red is a unique staple, I guess this is character building to making him a dangerous champion. Jeff Jarrett and Hogan tension is a neat touch, they have a lot of history to play up, including the 2003 program that never was, and touching on the old guard of TNA opposite the new. Jeff Hardy beating Desmond Wolfe worked, I guess. I would have done a more controversial finish to the match, just to protect Wolfe. The aftermath did similar, but it felt incredibly minor in the long haul. Wolfe should have been more p*ssed off. In your defence, you were handcuffed with the need to make matches for a pay-per-view that weekend. Random match between D’Angelo Dinero and Rob Van Dam, though both needed to be on the show. I like the idea of Dinero taking the win, but we did just see him lose clean to Desmond on iMPACT. Maybe with the Beautiful People going with Dinero is building to something, but this felt like a poor execution of a new act with RVD as much as you clearly wanted to rebuild Dinero from the loss three days prior. Yikes, all hell breaks loose with Sting and Samoa Joe opposite Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. I mean, what else could you really have done, right? I guess this worked for me, and it was cool seeing it transcend into a backstage brawl. Ken Anderson jumping Sting was interesting, but I seriously hope he wasn’t the guy that jumped Sting in the back two weeks prior. But hey, again Anderson is fresh from his WWE release. Scott Hall going out on a stretcher is hopefully his swansong as far as in-ring competition goes. The guy was a trainwreck in this early years of the 2010s. Man, you really cut down the detail for the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship three-way. Awesome Kong regains the title, even pinning the champion Tara. I’m not sure how I feel about that as it negates the potential of a Kong and Tara rematch - but I guess you have a different idea of where to take things. Hamada acting as Kong’s sidekick is a good idea, helps for tag team matches on television. I think you might have handcuffed yourself with the stipulation that this was Kurt Angle’s last chance to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion. AJ Styles can do practically anything coming off of this, while Kurt would need to be protected at the top regardless of him being in the title hunt or not. The masked man is an interesting hook for television, one I suspect you’ll let known on iMPACT. Still mildly surprised we didn’t see a reveal to close the show. Overall, it was definitely a pay-per-view. You’re establishing names, trading wins and losses, and just basically getting this short-build B-PPV out of the way. Like I said before, I’m looking forward to Against All Odds to see what you can really do with four weeks of build for a show.

Impact thoughts - a good who done it is a good wrestling troupe, if done well you could keep this going for a while with plenty of twists and feuds coming out of it. Love what you've done so far. Not sure about Angle competing right away, I would have had that main event as it is far stronger than the planned main event and Angle is a name that would have kept the casual audience tuning in off the back of last week's show. Not a huge fan of Morgan and Hernandez team, I guess they were teaming at the time but it seems random. Hardy/Wolfe seems like a good feud, could get some great promo work from Wolfe out of that.
Seems like Genesis was a bit rush booked but so assume that what it was like IRL with the big new image of TNA. Still. Hot opener, can't go wrong with MCMG opening. Surprised that the Guns didn't win as I would have hot shorted them to the titles of it was me but that might just be me. Kendrick is a good name to bring in. Interested to see if you bring in any non WWE names later on even though that wasn't the agenda at this time.Thats the right call with Hardy/Wolfe as I'm hoping this feud stretches out to be benefit both men. Bet Joe had to work his ass off in that match. Anderson aligning with Nash and Hall is interesting. As much as AJ deserves to be champion, Angle is probably the right call at this time. Interested where this masked attacker angle goes. Keep this up.

January 18th, 2010: Impact Zone in Orlando, FL
As TNA iMPACT opens, we see a highlights video from the Genesis pay-per-view from the night before. There are quick highlights of the undercard matches, with the first being the debut of Brian Kendrick, and his defeat of The Amazing Red for the X-Division championship. Following that, there's brief clips of Jeff Hardy defeating Desmond Wolfe, only to be attacked after the match, and Awesome Kong standing in the ring with her new Knockouts championship. Sting and Kevin Nash fighting are next, showing the two brawling to the outside of the ring and into the crowd. Footage is then shown of Samoa Joe and Scott Hall going up to the announcers table and Hall being smashed through it, being stretchered out afterwards. Going back to Nash and Sting, they show the two brawling in the fans before an unknown man takes out Sting, who is revealed to be Ken Anderson, as the video package fades into the main event. Styles and Angle exchange blows back and fourth, with the video package perfectly capturing every big moment of the match, including when the masked man made his attack. With Styles down, we re-watch Angle seize his opportunity. "Angle slam! One, two, three! Kurt Angle has done it! We have ourselves a new World Heavyweight Champion!" AJ Styles looks off in anger and confusion as Kurt Angle celebrates at the top of the ramp, fading into the iMPACT opening intro video.
Kurt Angle's music is the first thing heard as we see a live look of the packed Impact Zone. Angle, wearing a suit, rises from the center of the ramp, with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder. The crowd has a mixed reaction for Kurt, who raises his arms at the center of the ramp, causing pyro to go off behind him. Entering the ring, Kurt Angle immediately asks for a microphone and lets his music silence before raising his microphone up to speak. "It's been six months since I've stood in front of you fans as your World Champion. And it feels damn good to be able to finally do that again. Now, before anybody has any questions, I'm going to address the elephant in the room. I had no involvement with what transpired during my match last night." As Kurt Angle brings up what happened at Genesis, the camera shows a replay of a masked man attacking AJ Styles and hitting him with an elbow smash and then a brainbuster.
Back in the Impact Zone, Kurt Angle continues to address the crowd. "Tonight should be a celebration of my victory, but there's going to be that asterisk that's going to follow me forever. Now I'm a fighting champion, you all know this. AJ, I'm willing to give you a re-match for this here championship..." The crowd erupts in cheers as it's implied in tone that the match would happen tonight. Kurt Angle raises up his microphone again, but is immediately interrupted by the sound of Hulk Hogan's music, causing another loud reaction from the fans. Kurt Angle looks up at the ramp, slightly confused and irritated at being interrupted, as Hulk Hogan walks out from the back with a microphone himself.
"First off, congratulations from last night, brother. You and AJ, you had a hell of a match. Secondly, I think the maniacs and I can agree that a re-match between you two is a must, but there's one problem brother." Kurt Angle is shown on the camera, leaning on the ropes, rubbing the top of his head. "Yeah, what's that?" asks Angle. "The problem is, AJ Styles isn't here tonight. And you're right, just like my mysterious attacker, AJ needs to deal with his too. Two times in the past month we've had problems, so we're gonna put that re-match on hold, brother." In a shocking response, the crowd boos Hulk Hogan for denying them another AJ Styles vs Kurt Angle match. "Now hold on, hold on! With that match not happening, Kurt, you need yourself an opponent for Against All Odds. And I've got a great idea." Hulk Hogan slowly walks his way closer to the ring, while Angle continues to rest on the rope, holding is World Championship. "Tonight, we're going to have ourselves a #1 contendership four way match to decide who's facing you in just over four weeks."
Kurt Angle gets off of the ropes and looks at Hogan with a smirk, before raising up his own microphone. "So let me get this straight, you're idea is a four way to see who I face at Against All Odds? I like the sound of that." The crowd cheers in response, they also like the sound of the four way. "Exactly brother, and I'm out here to let everyone know who's going to be in that match tonight. We've got some hungry faces in the back, new and old. The first man that came up to me backstage, he's one mean dude, The Monster, Abyss!" The has a mixed reaction for Abyss, while Kurt Angle nods his head but takes a slight step back. "Also, last night these two put on great match as well, D'Angelo Dinero and Rob Van Dam are going to face off again in the four way. And finally, all of these maniacs are going to love this one. The last man in that match, Jeff Hardy!" The crowd erupts in a cheer as Hogan lowers his mic and his music plays, as the video feed goes to a commercial break.

1. Eric Young defeats Homicide in a non-title match Having not been in the ring for two weeks on iMPACT, we finally get a look at our Global Champion Eric Young. Homicide and Eric Young engage each other immediately, with Homicide taking the early advantage, before being elbowed in the stomach by Young. Young takes back over the match, getting into the corner and choking Homicide. He lets go of the hold at four, stepping back, before kneeing Homicide in the stomach again. Homicide takes the blow but punches Eric Young away, causing the two to lock back up in the center of the ring. A good match of back and fourth offense, finally ends after Eric Young is able to connect with a super kick to Homicide. Homicide stumbles back, allowing Young to kick him in the gut and placing his head between his legs, raising him up and connecting with a piledriver. Eric Young raises up Homicide's leg for the three count.
Eric Young arises to his feet, smiling at his work against Homicide. The referee hands him his Global Championship, which he snatches immediately before raising it above his head. "It's funny Mike, Eric Young won't defend his Global championship in the United States, but he sure does want to show it off."
"That's right, Taz. He's basically saying he's not going to defend the title on Spike TV at all. But you fans at home, don't you worry, because tonight we have a great show in store for you. As Hulk Hogan said earlier, we're going to see a four way match to determine who's challenging Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Also tonight, we're going to see Team 3D and Jesse Neal take on the World Tag Team Champions, The British Invasion. And in our Knockouts division, the former Knockouts champion Tara will take on Awesome Kong's partner Hamada and Sarita in a three way match. I'm also hearing word that once AJ Styles arrives to the are-..." Mike Tenay is interrupted by the lights going dark, followed by a figure standing at the top of the ramp being illuminated in a spotlight.
The camera focuses on the figure, who raises his hand up while keeping his head down. From the ceiling, an old school microphone starts lowering, causing the crowd to pop at the familiar sight, before remembering Genesis and booing. The microphone lands in the man's hand, who then raises his head up, revealing himself to be Ken Anderson. With a cheeky grin on his face, he rips hard at the microphone, tearing it loose from its cording, and throws it off to the side, before the lights in the arena come back on. "That's the man who attacked Sting last night! That's Ken Anderson! What does he want here?" Anderson then turns, looking off to the side of the ramp as Kevin Nash's music plays. Ken waits for Nash to make his way out to the ramp before giving him a high five and laughing. The two continue down to the ring as the fans boo, entering the ring and grabbing a microphone for themselves. Anderson makes his way to the center of the ring, looking directly at the hard cam.
"Well well well, it appears I've made myself a good first impression. Safe to say, I've made an impact." The crowd boos at Anderson, who they cannot forgive for attacking Sting. "To steal a word from Scott Hall, you people... You know who I am. But you don't know why I'm here." Nash slaps Anderson on the back in appreciation, and with a bit of laughter, he raises up his own microphone. "First of all, an explanation is needed, I know. Our good pal Scott, he's currently in the hospital because of what that piece of trash Samoa Joe did. The doctors didn't give us a return date, so it's safe to say he's going to be out of commission for a while. And that brings us to why buddy Ken is here. Why don't ya' tell em, Ken." Nash rests his arm over the shoulder of Anderson, leaning in and waiting to hear what he has to say.
"I'm here bec-..." Samoa Joe's music plays, causing the crowd to roar in excitement. Joe storms out to the ramp with a microphone in his hand, but is stopped by security that appears almost from no where, to keep him separate from the two in the ring. "Ahh, so ya' got yourself another lackey for me to choke out like Waltman huh Kev'? Down two, need me to take out a third?" The crowd enjoys the sound of Joe beating down Anderson, but Anderson himself isn't having it. "Hold on for one moment. Who in the hell do you think you are, interrupting me? Don't even answer that, I don't care. I'm going to finish what I was saying. I'm here to insure this new management team at TNA Wrestling gets everything to run smoothly." Joe makes his way to where the security is, but stops before they can put their hands on him. "I'll run this boot smoothly off the side of ya' head." says an angry Samoa Joe.
"Now now Joe, we all know here that you and your buddy Sting don't like the new power around here, and we all know for a fact that you both orchestrated an attack on Hulk Hogan." The crowd boos at the mention of Hulk Hogan being attacked on the January Fourth episode of iMPACT. "We have a plan for tonight Joe, and we can't have you just coming out here whenever you want, trying to attack those who are trying to help these fans get a better product. That's why, as a part of Hogan's Committee, you've been releived for the night. Go home, enjoy a meal, kick back and relax, and watch later on as Sting goes one on one with Ken Anderson, right here tonight." The crowd has a mixed reaction to that, as on one hand they get to see the match, but on the other hand Samoa Joe is being sent home for the night.
"I ain't going anywhere!" shouts Samoa Joe, throwing his microphone down to the ground beside him. The security guards tense up, awaiting for a response from Samoa Joe, but instead we hear a response from Ken Anderson. "Guards, if you can get that garbage out of the building, that'd be great." The guards move in on Samoa Joe, surrounding him and trying to escort him out of the building, but get punched one by one in the face by Joe, who is just trying to get to the ring. Joe almost makes it past everybody before an electrical "ZAP" is heard, and Joe drops to the ground. Nash and Anderson laugh and clap their hands as an tazed Samoa Joe is lifted off the ground by the security and taken off camera. "Looks like Nash and Anderson must've seen this coming, they gave all of their security tazers!" exclaims Taz as we see a final look at Joe being taken out of The Impact Zone by security, before going to a commercial break.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Motor City Machine Guns defeats Generation Me Coming off of their loss at Genesis, The Motor City Machine Guns look to get back in the win column against the two youngsters, Max and Jeremy Buck. The match has a quick pace to it, keeping the fans on their feet from all of the high flying action. Jeremy and Max Buck land in-sync cross bodies on both Sabin and Shelley, knocking them off of their feet. Jeremy and Max are both out to prove to the crowd that they belong, and continue the offensive. Following up with the cross bodies, the Machine Guns roll out of the ring, only to be hit by suicide dives from the Buck brothers. They both get back to their feet and swing their arms in the air to get the crowd excited, before the legal Max Buck rolls Chris Sabin back into the ring. Getting back to their feet, Sabin takes in a few more punches to the head before sending out a few of his own. Sabin collects himself and takes back control of the match, hitting Max with an enzuigiri and a hurricanrana. Alex Shelley stops Jeremy Buck from getting in the ring as Chris Sabin hits the Cradle Shock and gets the pinfall victory.
Following the victory of The Motor City Machine Guns, we don't stick around too long to see their celebration, as we cut backstage to Brian Kendrick sitting on a couch, who had been watching the match from his locker room. Alone in his room, Brian Kendrick looks over at the camera and gives a slight smirk, before turning to face the camera, revealing the X-Division Championship on his shoulder. "Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, The Motor City Machine Guns. Some may call them the pinnacle of the X-Division at some point, but no more. Why, you ask? Here's the answer. You see, they don't care about the X-Division." Brian Kendrick stands up from the couch, looking directly into the camera. "I came here to TNA Wrestling, because I care about the X-Division. I sat around and watched for months as this title gets passed around every other month, as if it's a toy. No more. I promise to you that I will get rid of the waste and bring us to a golden era, where I will stand before you now and forever, you're X-Division champion. See you all next week." Brian Kendrick pushes the camera away from him, allowing the camera to go back to the announcers table with Mike Tenay and Taz.
"What do you think Brian Kendrick means?" asks Taz to Mike Tenay. "Who knows what he means. We all saw what he did to Amazing Red last night, and if that's a sign of things to come, the X-Division better watch out." Taz shuffles some papers before looking over to Mike Tenay, who begins to speak again. "I'm being told that in other news, AJ Styles has made his way to The Impact Zone. We saw him attacked by a masked man last night, which cost him his TNA World Heavyweight Championship. I'm sure he's go-.." AJ Styles' music plays over the arena's sound system, interrupting Mike Tenay again. Arriving from the side of the ramp, AJ Styles walks out in front of the crowd, but he's not alone. Beside him is a man bigger than him, dressed in all black with a hood over his head, while keeping his head down to avoid recognition. "AJ Styles is here! And does he have his own man in black? What's going on here?" Taz asks confused, as AJ Styles enters the ring and immediately takes a microphone.
"This isn't the way I wanted tonight to go." AJ walks around the ring slowly, with his head down, while his masked man stands in the center of the ring, head down as well. "I've had it with these attacks. I should be standing here, holding MY World Championship, looking on to better things ahead. But no, instead I stand here before you all, confused, angry, and most importantly, championshipless. Now earlier tonight I was told that Hulk Hogan made it clear that I wouldn't get my rematch clause until I dealt with this problem I'm having. Well I went and got myself a problem solver." AJ Styles walks over to the man in the center of the ring, grabbing a hold of his hood and yanking it down. To the shock of some of the fans, the man AJ Styles brought out was none other than Tomko.
"I want to make this clear to whoever you are out there... Come at me again, you're dealing with this man right here." Tomko smiles widely, clenching his fists together. "Tomko, he's going to be my side night and day, and once you pop your head up again, he's going to crush it. There's nothing you can do to sto-.."
"BEER... MONEY!" The crowd cheers as James Storm and Robert Roode walk out to the center of the ramp, holding beer bottles in their hands. "I tell ya what AJ, we sure are offended that you wanted protection and didn't come to us." James Storm raises up his beer in agreement to Roode, taking a swig of his beer before receiving the microphone. "Yeah, we could always use the extra cash. And what's better than three versus one?" AJ Styles looks over to Tomko, and then back up to the two at the top of the ramp. "Hold on, you really think I'd trust you two drunks to watch my back that I hardly know? I appreciate the offer, but you're out of your mind.Tomko is all I need." The crowd has a mixed reaction at AJ Styles, while James Storm and Robert Roode look at each other in bewilderment. "Two drunks? Nah, we just two boys that like to enjoy ourselves a few beers. You know what else we like to do? Beat down some disrespectful loud mouth and his big ol' friend." The crowd cheers at the response from James Storm, which causes Tomko to step forward towards the ropes, glaring at the Storm and Roode. "Sounds a bit unnecess-..?" Tomko steps in front of AJ Styles, stopping him from talking by swatting his microphone from his hand, and aggressively inviting the two men to come down to the ring. Styles puts his hands out in shock and steps away from Tomko, exiting the ring, as Robert Roode and James Storm finish their beers and make their way down to the ring. As the get closer to the ring, Tomko points at James Storm and steps back to the far corner of the ring, motioning for Storm to join him in the ring. "Looks like we've got ourselves an impromptu matchup between AJ Styles' problem solver Tomko and one half of Beer Money, James Storm!"
3. Tomko w/ AJ Styles def. James Storm w/ Robert Roode James Storm hypes himself up in the corner, looking across from him at the serious demeanor from Tomko. Storm charges out of his corner but gets decked immediately by Tomko. James Storm gets pulled back up to his feet, where he catches an elbow to the head, dropping him down to a knee. Tomko grips onto Storm's head, pulling him back up again, only for Tomko to be punched in the throat my James Storm. Tomko stumbles back and James Storm takes the time to recover, before rushing back to Tomko with a clothesline. He is successfull with the strike, but Tomko doesn't budge. Storm looks over to Roode, and then runs back for another clothesline, hitting him directly in the chest. Tomko steps back again, but doesn't fall over. AJ Styles yells out at Tomko as James Storm winds up for one final clothesline, but this time he gets nailed with a Yakuza Kick. Storm drops to the mat, allowing Tomko to pin down his shoulders and get the three count.
James Storm rolls out of the ring, to the protection of Robert Roode, as Tomko stands victorious in the ring. AJ Styles enters the ring and stands beside his new problem solver, as TNA iMPACT goes to a commercial break.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Madison Rayne defeats Hamada and Tara At the beginning of the match, Mike Tenay let's the fans know at home that Hulk Hogan and his committee are keeping a close eye on this match, for a potential challenger for Awesome Kong at Against All Odds. They mention with that with the inclusion of Hamada, if she was to win, there would probably not be a Knockouts championship defense at the event, four weeks away. All three ladies stand at their own corners, looking at one another, before Hamada and Tara go at each other, allowing Madison Rayne to watch from afar. Tara gets in a few blows before Hamada grabs a hold of her hair and gets in a few of her own, while Rayne keeps her distance. Hamada lifts up Tara and bodyslams her in the center of the ring, allowing for Madison Rayne to strike. Rayne takes out Hamada's knee and then throws herself ontop of Hamada, landing multiple strikes to her face. Hamada covers herself up and then catches one of Rayne's arms, pulling her down and using it to escape from the position. The two roll around the ring until Tara punts Hamada in the head. A lot of three way action happens, with each lady keeping their own during the match. Towards the end of the match, Tara goes for a super kick on Hamada, and misses, nailing Madison Rayne in the face instead. Rayne drops to the ground and rolls to the corner as Hamada hits a spinning kick to Tara. Hamada pauses for a minute, exhausted, before throwing another spinning kick, knocking Tara to the ground. Leaning over to pick up Tara, Hamada doesn't realize that Madison Rayne has crawled closer to her and rolls her up for a quick pinfall attempt. One, two, three, Madison Rayne has beaten Hamada and Tara.
Madison Rayne immediately rolls out of the ring as an angry Hamada realizes what just happened. Hamada goes to the ropes, but Rayne is joined by Lacey Von Erich and Velvet Sky, so they just spew insults at her as they walk backwards up the ramp, where they bump right into Awesome Kong, standing very still with her Knockouts championship. Lacey Von Erich is grabbed by her hair and yanked backwards as Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne scamper down the ramp to get away. Lacey gets slammed into the ground with a chokeslam while the other two Beautiful People shriek in fear. What they don't realize, is they've backed into Hamada on the outside of the ring as well. "There's no where for Velvet Sky or Madison Rayne to go!" shouts Taz, as Hamada locks up with Velvet Sky, before kneeing her in the stomach. Madison Rayne looks back at Hamada and Velvet Sky, and then back up to a downed Lacey Von Erich, and in between her and the escape is Awesome Kong. But almost as if she's a guardian angel, Tara comes crashing down on Hamada, freeing up Velvet Sky to join Madison Rayne again. Tara and Hamada brawl off screen as Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky try to engage with Awesome Kong. The two try their best, but with Rayne being worn out from her match, there was hardly a chance. Kong fights back and chokeslams both Sky and Rayne. The camera slowly pans into Awesome Kong's face, as the camera cuts backstage.
The Impact Zone erupts in cheers as we see Jeff Hardy backstage, warming up for his match. "And there's one of the competitors for tonight's #1 contendership four way, Jeff Hardy!" exclaims Mike Tenay. "That's right, Hardy is coming off a big win last night over Desmond Wolfe. Can keep that luck going tonight and beat Abyss, RVD, and Dinero for a chance at the World Heavyweight Championship at Against A-.." Taz is interrupted by the voice of Desmond Wolfe, off camera. "Heh, fancy seeing you here." Hardy raises up his head, noticing it's Wolfe, and gets right to his feet. Desmond doesn't take much time before charging Hardy and slamming him against the lockers. Wolfe throws Jeff to the ground before mounting atop of him and hammering him in the head with closed fists, busting Hardy open. The beat down is quick, as security rushes into the room and grabs a hold of Desmond, pulling him from a bloody Jeff Hardy. Wolfe spits at Jeff, who is tended to by security as he's pulled out of the locker room, directly past Hulk Hogan, in shock.
As the medical team continues to check on Jeff Hardy, Hulk Hogan closes the door to the locker room. With Desmond Wolfe having been taken away, the hallway is filled with just two men, Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett. "What are you gonna do Hogan?" asks Jarrett. Hogan looks down at the ground, as if he's thinking of a decision, when a voice is heard off in the distance. "You want to know what to do?" Daniels walks out from the shadows, into the camera shot. "You've got a four way with three men. Looks like you need someone to take that spot." Hogan looks over at Daniels and then back over to Jarrett. "Hardy isn't in any shape to compete..." reminds Jarrett. "Screw it, Daniels, you're taking Jeff's spot tonight brother. Don't make me regret this." Daniels has a sly smile, nodding to Jeff Jarrett, before exiting off screen as iMPACT goes to a commercial break.

"It is now time to decide the #1 contender for the TNA Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship!" Mike Tenay welcomes the crowd at home back to the Impact Zone. "We are getting word that it's official, Jeff Hardy won't be cleared to compete tonight, due to the attack by Desmond Wolfe. So it's official, Daniels will be joining RVD, D'Angelo Dinero, and Abyss tonight, and I'm sure Kurt Angle is keeping a close eye on this match right now."
5. Abyss defeats Rob Van Dam, D'Angelo Dinero, and Daniels Dinero can hardly get into the ring before catching a boot to the face by RVD. Dinero drops immediately, allowing RVD to stomp on him as Abyss tries to catch Daniels. Daniels is too quick for Abyss, kicking him in the legs as he runs circles around him. Abyss eventually catches Daniels and slams him into the mat. Back over to Dinero and RVD, D'Angelo makes it back to his feet and locks up with Rob Van Dam, before stomping on Van Dam's foot. Van Dam yelps in pain, before sending a kick in retaliation to Dinero, but it's caught as well. RVD is driven into the mat, while D'Angelo Dinero is lifted off the mat by Abyss and bodyslammed onto RVD. Daniels rushes back over to Abyss, drop kicking him in his back, causing Abyss to fall on both men on the ground. Daniels runs back to the ropes and springboards off of them, splashing onto the back of Abyss. Daniels rolls off of Abyss in pain, while Abyss seems pretty unfazed and gets back up to his feet. RVD gets back up to his feet too and throws a jumping spinning kick at Abyss, hitting him directly in the chest. Off in the background, Daniels gets back to his feet and runs towards Dinero, while RVD hits Abyss with a head scissors. With Daniels and Dinero occupied, RVD looks to the crowd and does his "Rob Van Dam" thumb pointing taunt, before climbing up the turnbuckle. Abyss gets up in time though and catches a flying RVD by the throat, chokeslamming him into the mat. RVD yelps out in pain as Abyss surveys the damage around the ring, only to be choked by Daniels. Dinero takes out Abyss' knee, causing him to fall forward with Daniels, allowing him to lose his grip. D'Angelo picks up Daniels and hits him with a german suplex, getting him out of the way. Dinero turns his focus back to RVD, who slowly gets up to his own feet. D'Angelo and RVD have their time to themselves in the ring before being joined by Daniels. The three throw strikes back and fourth between all of them, before Abyss breaks it all up. Abyss catches Dinero by the neck and tosses him out of the ring, before hitting Daniels with a hard uppercut. Rob Van Dam tries to defend himself, but it's no use. Abyss stops all of RVD's attempts and instead hits him with the black hole slam. Abyss covers RVD for the three count.
"That was one hellacious match, but we finally have ourselves a victor and a new #1 contender, The Monster Abyss!" Among the bruised and battered, Abyss is the last man standing in the ring. The referee doesn't dare get in the ring, as Abyss raises his arms in celebration for his victory, before adjusting his focus to the top of the ramp. "Look who we have here! Kurt Angle wanted a closer look at his next challenger!" Angle claps slowly while looking down to Abyss, unafraid of his next opponent.
"That was a wild ride, but stick around folkes because coming up after this commercial break is our main event for the evening. The Icon Sting takes on his attacker from last night at Genesis, the debuting Ken Anderson!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Ken Anderson defeats Sting "Here we go!" shouts Taz as Sting charges out to Ken Anderson, before locking up into a hockey style brawl. Anderson gets over powered and pushed into the corner, where Sting drives his shoulder into Anderson's stomach. Ken groans out in pain as Sting climbs onto the second rope, sending down punch after punch into Ken's head. Anderson has had enough, and grabs a hold of Sting's tights and slams him into the mat. Sting arches his back out in pain, while Anderson stays in the corner recovering for a second. Spitting onto the mat, Anderson makes his way back to Sting, stomping on his hand. Sting pulls his hand into his chest, screaming out in pain, as Anderson stomps on his head next. Ken spreads his arms out and taunts Sting, who tries to get away from Anderson, but is stopped and pulled back to his feet. Anderson punches Sting in the face again, before twisting his arm behind his back. Sting swings back an elbow, which collides off of Ken Anderson's temple, causing him to fall back away from him. Sting takes back control of the match, hitting Ken with a drop kick. Sting hypes up the crowd as he continues his offense, eventually sending Anderson to the corner and hitting him with the Stinger Splash. Anderson falls to the mat and Sting goes for the pin, but only gets the two count. Sting gets back up to his feet, bringing Anderson back up with him. Sting drives Ken's head into the mat with a DDT, before laying down beside him for a moment. At this same moment, out from backstage walks Kevin Nash. "What's he doing out here?" asks Mike Tenay, as he walks his way closer to the ring with a chair. Nash places the chair in the center of the ramp, before having himself a seat, waving at Sting who has gotten back up to his feet himself. Sting laughs and picks up Ken, setting him up for a Scorpion Death Drop, but Nash gets back up to his feet. Sting hesitates as Nash gets closer to the ring, drawing the attention of the referee. Anderson slips out of the hold and kicks Sting directly in the nuts. With the referee distracted, Sting falls to the ground in pain, and the match continues. Nash walks back to his seat at the ramp as Anderson lifts Sting back to his feet, nailing him with a Mic Check. With a big smile on his face, Ken Anderson crawls atop of Sting for a pinfall. The referee counts one, two, three.
As soon as the bell rings, Kevin Nash stands up to his feet and goes towards the ring as the crowd boos both men. Ken Anderson smiles at Nash, getting up to a knee beside Sting. Nash gives a motion to Anderson, who then grabs a hold of the downed Sting's hair, and begins to punch him in the forehead, opening up a cut. Blood pours down the face of Sting, while the crowd's booing gets even louder. Those boos turn quickly into cheers though, as out in the stands we see Samoa Joe having made his way back into the Impact Zone. Joe sprints his way down to the ring, leaping over the barricade and getting right into the ring. With Joe entering the ring, Ken Anderson escapes in fear back up the ramp with Kevin Nash. Joe looks pissed off as he tends to his fallen companion, Sting, while the camera pans back up to Ken Anderson and Kevin Nash raising their arms in victory as TNA iMPACT fades out for the night.
