I honestly wish they’d go back and remake the Wal Mart exclusive from ‘96! It sucks so much that, that was the series short distributed and it never really made it to stores. I want that Austin and that Jake the Snake, I’m so bitter over that. I’ll voice my displeasure as many times as I can in hopes they’ll someday give them a regular a release haha Honestly tho, it wasn’t hard to get online. He was up for a couple weeks. Harley was obviously the hardest and quickly sold out as soon as he popped up. Jake and Steamboat were available from time to time for long periods of time. But Austin being packed 3 per case didn’t sell out for a while.

I didn’t realize only Harley was hard to get, I thought the whole set was Every other Wal Mart set at that time wasn’t even an issue to find in stores. The HBK series sat on shelves for months

I have zero interest in any new Austin's unless its an 2000-2001 Ultimate Edition.

I wish I got more to either hook up fellow collectors or turn a profit but I thought for sure these would be flooding outlet stores.

I think that was the case, I had no problem finding these any other time and this was the first set where I got screwed because it never showed up. By the time I realized that, they were already overpriced. My stores are always 6 weeks behind everybody else anyway so when everybody else is finding them I’m like, they’ll be here next month haha.

Although his figures never offer much as far as deco, I would think that an UE would be in the works for one of the most iconic superstars in the past 30 years.

Ultimate Edition seems the most likely. I can already hear the people complaining that he is too plain to be an Ultimate Edition figure. Added to that, since everyone is wanting WM14 Undertaker, they will probably make a current Undertaker to pair with him - probably the attire he wore at the boneyard match. As for Steve Austin, personally I wouldn't mind any of the choices. A two-pack with Col. Mustafa when he was US Champion would be cool. Or a two-pack with Paul E. Dangerously when he was the TV Champion would be great too. This would be a great two-pack as well:

I can't even begin to fathom how hard the Mattel Defense Force would come out to tell people not to complain if we got the ing Boneyard Undertaker over the only real correct pick for an Ultimate Undertaker. I disagree tha Austin is too plain, though. Give him a vest, t-shirt, belts and two heads and boom.

I bet it gets re-released now that ive paid lots for it. Id also like the Austin from that series. Is the upcoming Steamboat coming with the shirt btw?

I would personally like to see a 2001 alliance stone cold with black jean shorts, snakeskin knee braces, a cloth yellow and red smoking skull austin 3:16 shirt with a matching red and black smoking skull hat, With a necklace and maybe a new accessory...a black wristwatch! And top it off with a round big eagle world title belt.

I have done the same and paid a bit more for figures I really wanted, it sucks paying more but at the same time I’ll usually buy a bunch of cheaper guys I don’t want as much to compensate and I’m like, why don’t I just spend the money on the one I actually want haha. OMG I say the same thing and you’d be surprised how accurate a statement that is. ANY TIME I buy something expensive, it gets a re release announcement like the next day..without fail haha. Fear not though, as long as I don’t have that Jake Roberts it will NEVER get re released haha, if you believe in my bad luck enough, I’ll never let you down, trust me. In fact it’ll get more expensive, just watch haha Yes, the Steamboat is basically the same. He has the GI, One of the Mattel guys said in the Q&A.

I really want an ultimate edition Stone Cold. I’m surprised he’s the last of the big four to get a release. I would’ve definitely included him before Rock, even Cena.

Ultimate Edition seems the most likely. I can already hear the people complaining that he is too plain to be an Ultimate Edition figure. Honestly, I feel like the plain nature of an Austin figure would benefit an Ultimate. He could have some combination of two vests, a hat, a tee shirt, two sets of knee braces, two heads, a smoking skull belt, a chain, a "soda" can, and even some pointing index fingers (we'd all know what they were supposed to be). If it came stacked with some or all of that, I don't think anyone would complain. Now, if Mattel just did one vest and a shirt, complaining would be a bit more likely and warranted IMO.

I'd really like an Exclusive UE Austin. Do it up right with:
- Austin in ring gear - silver lettered vest - red lettered vest - gold lettered vest - gold chain necklace - Bloody Austin 3:16/DTA Rattlesnake/Other Side Jackass/HELL YEAH! cloth shirts - cloth jeans - cloth Jean shorts - black/red/gold kneebraces - cap - beer can - open hands, fist hands, middle finger hands - WWF Intercontinental belt - WWF Winged Eagle - WWF Big Eagle (blue or black)
This would give us basically ANY Austin look in one box! The way I figure it, the only way we'll get shirts with profanity is if it's an online exclusive. Hell, it would be cool to get a ring gear Austin in a removable cloth suit with a cloth WANNA RAISE SOME HELL shirt to commemorate the Raw episode where he faked going corporate! Pipedream, I know, but wouldn't that kick a little ass?
