I dig it. People mock AEW and lol at the idea of Cardona being the guy to beat Cody, but as long as he's different than Zach Ryder I think the sky is the limit with him. If he does a more serious take on the gimmick like it seems he could be doing then he’ll do great. This booking would lead into Cody forming the stable with Hangman and FTR eventually. I might book that soon too for fun lol is that a heel stable then in your mind? cardona wouldn't have been a guy I would have signed. that said, AEW is willing to take risks on talent behaving organically allowing the wrestlers to invest in their own characters. that's what leads to great moments. so I am more than willing to see what they can do with him and what he can do for himself.

I’m trying to figure out how I’m gonna write it out haha but I have some cool ideas. I’ll post it on this board eventually

Matt is good business for AEW. Super curious to see him work for real against a guy like Omega, Pentagon or Cage. He's never worked at that level before and we're going to see it. I think he and Cody can have a great feud eventually, or maybe soon. I'd never seen Warhorse before but I enjoyed what I saw. Cool entrance, good energy, and I can see why he has his following. Thought the pro vs amateur story of the match was appropriate. I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more of Warhorse. Diamante has not been good so far. Ivelisse is one of the best women's wrestlers on the planet and Shida is AEW's top worker. She's been a mess with both. Ariane had X-pac heat with me in WWE. That's an extremely disappointing signing. She feels like a Brandi signing so she can fill out a calendar page. Even if she did improve, I have to imagine there are dozens of women more suited for the spot on TV. We'll see. I think she deserves to come in at a negative with the fanbase. There are very few people I would say that about, but she's definitely one of them. MJF is absolute ing fire. Dude is great.

I'll just say this for Matt Hardy: he needs to take the L to Sammy, but I 100% see that as what will happen.

Oh that hits the nostalgia vibes hard. In college whenever the track team would do the beer miles (Out of season lol, no one was that dumb) the ones who wanted to do it but didn't drink would do chocolate milk miles instead. Terrible idea, they always suffered the most.

Terrible idea, they always suffered the most. We did milk miles in high school football BEFORE practice. Coaches would die laughing. It sucked. You totally made me relive that.....gonna go puke now...

I really hope we're getting set up for Page/Omega vs FTR vs Bucks at All Out.

Yes, the upstart company provided an income for a ton of jobbers (I mean actual jobbers, not what you're obviously trying to say) in a period where those guys were completely out of work because the entire independent scene was shut down. Pretty class move really.

Pretty class move really. So this upstart company should lose a lot of money just to hire people? It's not good business sense, and besides, they already have a big enough roster that 90% they don't know what to do with. Has AEW even made any money these past 8 months? Has WWE? Just because you have an owner with so much money doesn't mean that you go out and buy junk. Last time I looked, the owners football team isn't making so much money either. And the entire independent scene isn't shut down. I've done 5 shows already in the last couple of months. But of course, the indies can't bring in a glorified jobber like Cardona when they are only allowed 50 people in attendance.

I don't know how much money you think they're spending on the jobber talent, but I'm sure it's not all that expensive. They started like 5 months ago when they had to scramble to do a ton of tapings and only had like 30% of their roster available. It's not like they hired 60 jobbers to long term contracts. But I see we've arrived at the real reason you posted it in the first place, which I was trying to steer it away from, so fair play to you I guess.
Regardless of what you think of Cardona's talent level, there is a certain amount of logic in bringing in literally the toy guy when it comes to wrestling figures, and putting him in your company who is launching a toy line. It also doesn't hurt that he's f***ing massive right now. Dude used that quarantine time well.

It's a personal business decision on who to hire, so I don't know who you're dunking on...the people with jobs now? The person creating jobs during a pandemic? Cardona for reaching for another brass ring?

It's also a pretty sound investment. They're not expensive at all, and it's very positive publicity to be the company providing jobs when the other company(I'd make it plural but there's literally only one company doing it) is cleaning house. When it comes to scouting talent long term, I gotta wager most independent guys are gonna be looking at the company that is more open to providing them real opportunity. The roster is always going to have to fluctuate, and unfortunately eventually cuts will have to happen to make room for others to come in, this isn't going to be the exact roster for even the next 5 years, but things like this definitely help their case when it comes to persuading people to pick them over the other options.
