Hager or Hardy; who would you rather leave? Hardy 100% Hager fills a role.

Hager or Hardy; who would you rather leave? Hardy 100% Hager fills a role. Agreed. In all fairness Hager's only had like three singles matches in his entire run, so while I don't care to watch them, they've been few and far between. The disappointment when Hardy showed up in that tag match ... if I knew Sammy was going to have a program with Hardy I'd have rather he just had a two month suspension.

I feel like if there’s one weakness with AEW’s booking it’s how they book their big men. Archer and Lee both had a ton of momentum that was lost as soon as they failed to win their big matches against Cody and Mox, and I feel like Cage is sadly going down that path to.
I was fine with last week how Taz threw in the towel for Cage as it made sense story-wise and protected him. However I feel like Cage and Starks needed to win tonight. Yeah Starks took the pin but the fact that Taz keeps talking up Cage only for him to fail in his big matches just makes him look like an idiot. I’m hoping I’m wrong and Cage starts getting booked strong again but tonight and last weeks shows don’t give me much hope of him lasting in the main event for long. AEW needs a major heel right now (MJF is being built to that), and Cage fits that role.

Good show. Obvious fixes. Some of these teases seem to be dragging a bit. I get we are try to get to All Out.
Btw Warhorse did nothing for me. A bit disappointed

But we just aren't gonna give ya the real title. Totally agree with you. All these big guys have come in just to lose. For why? Let's have a beer and discuss that one

I mean in theory losing against a champion should not really sink you, but a key to that is you gotta bounce back right away and pick up another big win to show you still mean business. That is most definitely not what happened with cage. Obviously it's why Starks took the pin, but cage and Archer could both use a good high profile win as soon as possible to reaffirm their status. It's funny as f*** watching Archer dummy geeks though.
Brodie I think is maybe the one exception because he's doing the whole cult leader thing, and him not winning but still promoting his cult could very easily become part of the story. Cage and Archer for sure need to pick up some meaningful wins hopefully very soon.

With Cardona coming in, it's clear AEW isn't done signing guys. Does anyone expect Miro (Rusev) besides me? Also, please sign Joe Hennig.. 🤞🏻
Tony Khan has said in interviews he used to do fantasy booking as a kid, I wonder if he meant fig fed, pen/paper, or PC sim? AEW feels like a real life game of EWR/TEW.

With Cardona coming in, it's clear AEW isn't done signing guys. Does anyone expect Miro (Rusev) besides me? Also, please sign Joe Hennig.. 🤞🏻 Khan confirmed recently too that he definitely was not done signing guys. Cody kinda hinted in at interview lately that we could be getting that third hour of TV revealed in the next 4-6 weeks as they figure it out. I fully expect the youtube content to start ramping up too. Cody was just recently saying in an interview, and JR said it in an interview too, that these guys gotta wrestle more, because being on the show once every 2-3 weeks wrestling is just not enough to improve as wrestlers. Given that they can always film at Daily's place pretty much whenever the eff they want even post pandemic since they own the bloody thing, and having Dustin's school starting and QT's school, tons of options to help the lower card guys keep getting exposure and developing. I think partially putting some of that tag team women's cup on youtube is to keep ramping up the content on there. The big darks are great, but they gotta start putting more and more actual roster vs. roster matches on there so more of these guys can stay fresh. A little more towards the rest of your topic: I fully expect Miro very soon. I'm not sure where his status is at re: Corona since we know he tested positive, as well as both of Lana's parents (who got quite sick from what I recall). Miro was screwing with everybody saying he was retiring from wrestling to be a professional twitch streamer, which makes me think he's already reached the agreement and they're just deciding when to reveal him. (or whoever has signed him, but I'd bet really really good money its AEW and not Impact). I don't have much hope for Hennig showing up sadly, but hopefully he can at the very least end up in impact and continue to wrestle and be himself instead of the goddamn b-team. In no world are Joe Hennig and Bo freaking Dallas equivalent in roster position. I'm not saying boys gonna be a main event guy but he's got a lot more to contribute to this business than he has been able to show the past years.

Warhorse didn't really show much of his move set, Cody was leading the match from the look of it, perhaps he is a bit green on TV and Cody didn't trust him enough, wasn't a bad match just a little dull and felt flat to me so i was a bit disappointed in that match. If you were a casual and that was the first you had seen of warhorse you might just think he is an extremely poor mans (and smaller) Ultimate Warrior but with a lame Rocker gimmick instead of the nutcase alien like gimmick that warrior had. The opening 10 man was what you would see in an Indie company, terrible stunt fest with far too many wait for the guys to jump over the top rope spots, hated that match and bored of seeing sexy Sammy eating pins, ZERO interest in a Hardy feud. Jericho delivered a decently funny promo later on the show though. Tag title match was fun, always enjoy Hangman and Omega, Cabana on coms was fun, Anna Jay is always a delight to my eyes. MJF continues to do what he does best, excellent promo once again, hope they give him the title, Mox is stale and the title being on an Original AEW star instead of a WWE cast off would be good for the company. Women's match was fine, Shida is never a bad time. main event was a fun match, i enjoyed the skateboard tack spot and looking forward to Mox vs Darby next week, should make it no DQ, suits both of them best although AEW are lax with the rules anyway so shouldn't be a problem either way. Hopefully the 12 man tag next week is better than the 10 man from this week and i am happy to see Ryder get another chance, WWE ed up big time after his run and rise in popularity in 2011, what they did to him in 2012 will forever be confusing and disgraceful to me.

I think 100% Cody directed that match. You could see in the beginning Warhorse went to the wrong corner twice before the introductions. Also, that nutcase alien thing wasn't a gimmick LOL. One Warrior Nation. 12 man should for sure be better next week. I mean, no matter what we're gonna further three stories on one side of that match alone. Even if it kinda devolves into a bit of sloppiness like this week, there are so many storylines to take place in that match I don't think it could be bad even if it's horrible if that makes sense?

If anyone here is on the gram go look up wickedgrams account one word. There's a video of Cameron training on there. First vid right now red ring. The actual moves. Seems like she's been training and may actually have improved. I'm not saying we're gonna get a diamond in the rough here, but she was looking pretty athletic and fluid so maybe it won't be a total train wreck. I wouldn't have believed it was her if you showed me it compared to her WWE vids. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Edit: To be clear, I'm not saying I'm expecting it to be good. I'm just saying it might not be a total train wreck.

Another insomnia night leads to a double post lol. I just watched the little youtube clip of the end of Warhorse match & Cardona debut. Man, he looked big when I watched it live tonight, but holy crap has Cardona gotten swole. Wow.

But we just aren't gonna give ya the real title. Totally agree with you. All these big guys have come in just to lose. For why? Let's have a beer and discuss that one I have no idea why, but my friend thinks it has something to do with the Elite guys being considered “smaller” so they want to look good going against these guys. I can see that maybe being part of the reason and if true, that’s bad for long term booking. A guy like Darby can play a great underdog, but he shouldn’t be able to dominate against a guy like Cage (something he seemed to do for a few moments during last nights match). I’d have booked it as Mox getting taken out and Darby tries to put up a fight but Cage is just too much. Everyone looks good in that scenario, but instead they went with the heels looking like idiots again. With their roster still being limited due to the pandemic AEW desperately needs a dominate heel. MJF is being built to that but he still has a bit to go IMO. Jericho’s role is to help elevate younger talent (hence the feud with OC), so that leaves a big hole at the top of the card. I think Cage is the perfect guy to fill that role temporarily, and last week a surprise win over Mox for the title would have worked wonders. Mox could have won it back at the next big event and then transition into a feud with MJF. However, they didn’t do that and now we’re getting Mox/Darby 2 next week where we know Mox isn’t dropping the title. After that maybe we get Mox/Cage 2 but I think it’s clear Cage won’t be getting the title (which is a shame). I’m loving AEW right now but this is my one criticism of their booking. Big men need to be protected to a point and right now AEW hasn’t been doing that.

Fantasy booked a Cody vs Matt Cardona storyline and feud
Cardona and Cody def. Dark Order
Interview after the match and they talk about how it’s great for Cardona to be here and get his opportunity to show the world what he can do and that’s by challenging one of his best friends for the TNT Title on the next Dynamite. Cody reluctantly agrees and they shake hands and leave together
The next week Cody beats Cardona in a hard fought contest after Cardona nearly has the win. Cody works over the knee of Cardona during the match like he’s been doing and eventually wins with the figure four
Backstage Cardona is icing his knee when Cody comes up and they have a little tension. Cardona says Cody knows about his history with that knee from the past and asks why it felt like he was trying to hurt him. Cody says it’s not like that at all and he was just trying to win. Cardona says it’s cool he’s just disappointed he tapped. Cody says there’s always more opportunities and leaves.
Cardona racks up wins on Dark and Dynamite over the next few weeks climbing up the rankings and finally earns another shot at the TNT title beating Brodie Lee in a hard fought match for the number one contendership.
Schiavone interviews him after the win and Cardona says he’s watched that last match with Cody over and over and he’s seen where he went wrong and when they meet again, he’s gonna be walking out the new TNT Champion.
Cody and Cardona face off with Brodie and Colt the following week, with Brodie getting the pin on Cardona after Cody is distracted by other members of Dark Order. It’s announced after the match that next week Cody defends against Cardona in the rematch.
The rematch has a lot of near falls much like the first. Cody continues working the knee of Cardona, looking like he’s enjoying it some. Cody gets cocky and starts taking Cardona lightly and when going for the figure four he gets caught in a small package and Cardona gets the shock win to become the new champion. Lots of tension after the match but Cody eventually collects himself and they shake hands and leave together.
Cody picks up wins the next week or two while Cardona defends the title against any challengers. Cody then says he’s getting a rematch with Cardona at All Out for the title.
At All Out it’s another hard fought match. Lots of call backs to the last two matches. They tease Cardona winning with the small package again but Cody kicks out. Cody hits the Cross Rhodes but Cardona kicks out just before three. Cody goes for the disaster kick but Cardona avoids it and hits the Last Resort(Rough Ryder, not sure what he’s calling it lol) and retains. He helps Cody up after the match and then celebrate together but then Cody attacks him from behind with a chop block! Arn gets in the ring confused standing between Cody and Cardona, but Arn turns too! Cody destroys Cardona’s knee in a chair by stomping on it while Arn holds the chair in place. Cody takes Cardona’s title and leaves with it saying he’s the real champion.
Cardona does promos in a knee brace the next few weeks building up to a big return and blow off match with Cody towards the end of the year

I might book that soon too for fun lol
