I thought I heard about the hiring freeze before the Kingston match but I could be wrong. I mean the Khan fam is so rich, they can still hire. lol They don’t have enough tv time. I say they should stop hiring for now until that second show comes. |

They have as much time on YouTube as they want. lol I agree with you for the most part, but they brought in a lot of people when the direct competition laid talent off for no reason. I’m cool if they keep bringing in people for a paycheck. |

I think he is a waste of money just like many other wrestlers in AEW. Thankfully no one's paying you to think then. If they were/are, they should sue you for fraud. |

Matt Cardona couldn't cut the mustard to be a top guy in WWE brother. Cody Rhodes hired him to carry his luggage. You've already shared your irrelevant opinion once, it's not necessary twice in 3 posts. I was enjoying myself just trolling back for a while mentioning Finlay and Smiley, and trashing Hogan (which is a shoot, I 100% despise Hulk hogan and everything about him). It's getting old though and I'm no longer having fun. Until you have something actually constructive to say, why don't you stick to the classic wrestling forums where your comments are typically more appropriate, "brother". |

I guess some people can't accept that Matt Cardona isn't a big deal. He wasn't even main event material as Zack Ryder. What does he bring to the table in AEW?

He's a solid guy to bring in to get his fan base and he's a guy who will put over they're top/upcoming talent. Cardona isn't going to be in the main event picture. Was never a fan and don't think he has much to offer.
Could be a good on screen character in some capacity, or a good road agent, but I don't think there's much there as a wrestler.

Right around the time his AEW debut they aired the commercial for the figures. Both JR and Tazz were talking that Cardona is a huge action figure collector. He will be the shill for the AEW line. WWE gave him the push a few times, but ultimately they just used him as a jobber. AEW might use him slightly better.

The E in AEW needs a new word to replace "Elite" because Matt Cardona is a job guy from the WWE, no matter how many WWE titles he's held while being there.
AEW is just turning to Cody's friends. Cody will hire anyone that kisses his ass.

I think he’s a solid midcard performer and can help elevate some of the younger talent that AEW needs to build. Not like he’s going to main event but I don’t see the problem with giving him a chance to prove himself here. Plus he still has a pretty big online following and may help bring in a few new eyes to AEW.

I mean, I just watched a 4 1/2 hour thing from him and Bryan about the history of Hasbro WWF figures. While I was doing laundry and other housework, but still. I'm sure he'll be fine in the ring, but the toy marketing alone is 100% worth the cost of him. Jeremy and him will get along so well and have way too much fun marketing the AEW line.

My thoughts on Matt Cardona, are only ever going to be negative - as they have been, for however many years it is now, I've had to put up with seeing him on my tv. Mid-card talent at best. It's no coincidence, that out of all the recent releases, the only one AEW want to sign is Cardona - aka, Cody's mate. All this amounts to, is Cody hiring - or rather getting Uncle Tony, to hire his friend. There were so many better talents they could've hired before Cardona, like Rusev or Heath Slater - or even the far better Myers, who would've actually added to the show. A low-level talent like Cardona, is certainly not going to improve the AEW product, that's for sure. Also, I haven't got any time for someone, who not only brags about how much he spends on figures, but refers to himself as "the Michael Jordan of figure collecting". Those are my honest thoughts on Matt Cardona... obviously they're not positive - but then again, this thread is titled 'Thoughts on Matt Cardona', not 'Kiss Matt Cardona's arse', or 'the Matt Cardona appreciation thread'.

I never liked him in WWE. That "Woo Woo Woo" sh*t always made me want to change my channel. I don't think he'll do that in AEW on his own, but I wouldn't be surprised if/when fans come back they'll be chanting it and he'll just jump back on it. THAT was after all the character people (GULP) liked. They (Jericho) shut down "We The People" with Jake Hagar, but Hagar's a heel that nobody was supposed to cheer. I think it's going to be different with Cordona. If he's going to help push their action figures, he's got to be a good guy. Not only do I think he will be, but I think he'll gravitate back towards something that resembles the Long Island Ice Tea gimmick.
I think he's a lower level mid card jobber with minimal skills. I don't think AEW would have BLOWN IT by not signing him, and I don't think they're any further ahead (in the ring) by signing him. There are way more guys on their roster that I'd rather see in the ring than Cordona.

Not anymore. AEW will have things on that I don't like, and then they're gone. On Raw I'll have entire hours or multiple hours where I sit there watching and wondering what the hell happened to this comany? Even if AEW was 3 hours (which I have wanted) I don't see them having the same problem UNLESS they decided to follow Raw's format and TALK TALK TALK wrestle TALK TALK wrestle wrestle TALK TALK TALK TALK TALK wrestle........And then the main event is MORE TALKING. |

It seems like he rubs people the wrong way and gets on their nerves.
People are getting mad online ™️ because he’s getting another mainstream shot. He WAS a mid-card guy who got himself over unlike very few in that company ever have. He IS being brought in as a mid-card guy in hopes he can get himself over like that again.
I really don’t see the issue. lol

Even if he is the worst wrestler in the world (which he is not) he can definitely help with the figures, I couldn’t believe WWE let him go as his pod was blowing up.
