www.radio.com/media/podcast/aew-unrestrictedSome information: - Mentions Sammy Guevara and more women’s talent coming soon. - Will be available in the UK by the end of the year. Will probably oy start with Wave 2, but may contain Wave 1 as well. - Wants to include as many talents as possible, including performers on Dark, announcers, etc

They went easy on him on that interview that’s for sure. I wish it would have been brought up that you can’t find the figures still easily in the stores. He even mentioned about making sure you don’t over ship to the stores.

Great interview. He's a skilled speaker, for sure, and far more polished than many in the wrestling industry, outside of WWE. AEW needs more professionals like this.

Also mentioned the idea of doing 2 packs later on, also idea of metal plates with pleather belts like the old 1/1000 jakks belts.

So they are planning on a basic line. He said they want to do drug and grocery store figures. So they would be more of a basic line.

My son just grew-out of the traditional "playing" age within the past six months, or so, (not judging anyone who does this, regardless of age), and I can imagine he would have been incredibly frustrated if trying to play with the Unrivaled series. He also mentioned the possibility of a mid-level, 18x18, ring.

The one troubling thing I found with it was his love affair with the secondary market. I don’t care about that one bit. I collect because it’s something I like and I just want to be able to obtain the figures I want without jumping through hoops or sell a kidney hoping to find chases/short packs. Don’t cater how you release mass produced toys to hoping for it to be so rare that it shoots up in price on the secondary market. That’s something that’ll turn me off real fast. If he wants to do that then go ahead an make the 1/25 employee only figures, but don’t tell us about them an keep it for those three billionaires who can afford them.

I'm strongly against artificial scarcity, and I'm a firm believer that if you put out a quality product that collectors enjoy, it will hold value. But no question Jeremy is fixated on rarity and the value of collectibles. Whether it's cards or figures, he's really driven by the appreciation of rare collectibles. It's not my cup of tea. And I'm not really sure that it's in tune with the collector market today. But I could see them pulling in speculators and medium and long term flippers. If they keep using slight attire variations like they have, I'll live with it. If they start locking desirable characters or attires away into these high dollar exclusives, then they're going to lose me as a collector.

The UK already has Series 1. Did he mention if the chase figures are on shippers or where we’d finally see them?

Jeremy Padawer looks like he spends late nights in the office with coke and hookers. Fair play to the guy. I like him.

They also seemed to not ever even say "Jakks" or "Jakks Pacific"

I don't mind the chases like the Jericho and Cody. You have a shot at getting the regular versions. In the case of collectors wanting a complete roster short shipping certain characters is not the way to go. Brandi should have been available on a display of 24 figures. You have to establish the brand missing your target date, trying to help secondary market sellers, can leave a bad taste in the mouth of many collectors. He's a great mouthpiece for the line

So they are planning on a basic line. He said they want to do drug and grocery store figures. So they would be more of a basic line. I heard when they first got announced they wanted to avoid it but honestly they're still toys for kids who's parents may not have £20 to spend on every figure. That's why basics do so well.

Oh I know why you do a lower end line. I just found it funny that his first interview he was no we aren’t doing any basics. Then in interview two it’s oh we are thinking about making a line for drug and grocery stores. lol

The only figures I look at collectibles are Hot Toys the rest to me are just toys. They shouldn't be hard to get especially this early. If this was 5 years ago where I was really dedicated to figures I would be very turned off if I struggled to get part of the series and when building a roster a big guy because he's in a certain store.

It'll be interesting to see how they do it. I never used to mind basics but the articulation now is so bad compared to Elites. Needs to be some similarity and please make them in scale with Unrivaled. I used to hate buying Deluxe Aggression because of how tall they were.
