The Smoking Gunns was a top lelev tag team when they were together, often appearing on Raw, BUT they did not appear on a single PPV after Summerslam1993 until Survivor Series of 94
Really interesting to see since it seemed they were pushed as a top tag team but were off PPV for over a year

I recall one of em being out there during the Crush/Savage pull apart brawl at SSeries 93 plus they were both in the Rumble in 94. but yeah they didnt do much until they won the tag belts in 95.

I remember realizing how bad the tag scene was in late 1994 when the best tag match I seen on a house show was Heavenly Bodies vs. Smoking Gunns. Nothing against those two teams, but for the entire year of 1994 both teams were not seen on PPV until Survivor Series of 1994. Wrestlemania - SummerSlam those two teams were nowhere to be found.
However, the WWF was pushing the Headshrinkers as there top baby face team then too in 1994, even after Samu left. So there were no other better baby face teams than the Smoking Gunns come 1995. I still feel they did their best work as heels in 1996 though.

I always hated the Gunns. I hated the Cowboy gimmick and thought they were boring as hell. It didn't help how awful the tag scene was either.

It is odd they didnt do much with them pay per view wise. Its not like the roster was stacked. I will say while I wasn't a huge fan, I do love me some proper tag team finishers. So hats off to the Gunns  |

I feel like Billy Gunn needs to bring back the mustache in his AEW run. He needs to go out in wrestling the way he came in.... with a glorious mustache!!

They should've been on the WM X card in that big 10 man tag that got cut for time reasons but yeah it was odd they weren't. Especially when the Quebecers were the champs you'd think they'd have got a ppv match with them. You would also assume they would've got the titles at the Royal Rumble 95 tournament finals but one of them was injured

there has been rumours they were meant to take the out of favour Steiner's place against the Quebecers at WMX & beat them for the straps but we got MOM instead....good god man....LOL

Billy looked older in the Gunns than he does now lol. Crazy to think how young he was back then but looked much older.

I never got where all the recent manlove for the smoking guns came from. WCW had the far better tag team scene at the time with the Hollywood blonds, pretty wonderful, stars and stripes, Harlem heat, etc |
