See when you guys call Surfer Sting the real Sting, and Crow Sting crap, you lose me.
He was Surfer for maybe 9-10 years. He’s been Crow Sting for the other 24. For a person my age that got into wrestling in 97ish there was no Red/Yellow Hogan only Hollywood. There was no Surfer Sting, only Crow. You only learned about that when you rented an old video or game from blockbuster and were confused.

I lived in Dallas when I was a kid so..
The Von Erichs Hogan Macho Perfect Owen Hart
I’d put Hogan first, never liked Warrior or Bret, but loved Owen. Next was definitely HBK

I started watching around August 2001 so judging by that:
The Rock Kurt Angle The Undertaker Edge Rob Van Dam
By the end of 2002 it was most likely:
The Rock Shawn Michaels Rey Mysterio Edge Kurt Angle

Jeff Hardy was pretty much always my favorite.
RVD was my first ever "favorite wrestler" but I only caught the last year or so of his first WWE run. I loved when he showed up in TNA because I was super into TNA as a kid.
Shawn Michaels always had my affection.
Undertaker was just so cool.
Batista was the prototype for "favorable wrestler" in 2007-2009. LOVED him, and he's one guy who I can go back and still really enjoy as a wrestler.
I liked Cena well enough but I was never a really big fan. I also didn't appreciate Rey Mysterio or Chris Jericho a lot when I was younger and watching them, but now they have to be two of my favorites. Rey is my all-time favorite wrestler I'd say. CM Punk was really influential to me after the Pipe Bomb.

In the 80s, pretty much the same as every little kid. Hogan being number one. Though I did really love DiBiase, he's one of my all time favorites. And same goes for Jake Roberts.
So, I'll go with like '90 on, when I started developing my own tastes as a fan.
Bret Hart Steven Regal Arn Anderson Chris Benoit (Always feels so weird saying that now) Dustin Rhodes? Maybe?
That is top five if I had to make it in 1999. If I had to make a top five list in retrospect of my favorites from that era after later seeing all the Lucha, Japanese, and European wrestling it would be so so so much harder. Though I think the top three would stay the same.

Eddie, Edge, Undertaker, Hogan Triple H. It's almost too easy to just say the smackdown 5, but in terms of favourites those are my "fave five sucka" also gotta give some love to raw. I think it's probably more nostalgia but me smack down in my youth was the crap, even the "under card" was fire with the likes of Mysterio, Tajiri, Kidman and V1 Matt Hardy, Chavo etc. Hogan I gotta throw on there, I hadn't seen the guy before the 80s were well before my time and WCW was dead by the time I'd stated watching wrestling. But when he debuted in the red and yellow the pop got my instantly invested. A few years later I checked out his match with the rock at mania (my first was WM19 I never got to watch PPVs even though I followed weekly) and just trawled back through history.

HBK Hulk Hogan Macho Man Jake the Snake Razor Ramon
these are probably the wrestlers i cared about watching the most as a kid. Hulk was always #1 to me, until HBK in 1996 just really took over for me.

Edge Taker HBK Orton Batista and Triple H were interchangeable in the number 5 spot. I was a Cena hater from the time I was 2, I found him annoying. Edge, Orton, and Triple H were my guys because they were feuding with Cena. I was blown away by Shawn Michaels' wrestling ability. The Undertaker was at his peak in '06-'07, I feared him more than anything as a small kid but when he was on TV I was always excited and caught up in his aura. Batista was just a ing beast, he was to me what Cena was to all the other kids. My other favorites that didn't make the top five were Rey, Angle, Benoit (yikes), Kane, Jericho, Mark Henry, Christian, and Mr. Kennedy.

Well really didn't get into it until '99 but the main guys I was a fan of where Austin,Rock,Foley,Triple H & Jericho. Those would still be my Fav five even today. The Foley/Triple H feud in late '99 going into 2000 was what really got me hooked as a fan.
