We covered Arnold, we may as well do his counterpart. Barely making a dent in Hollywood in the early 70s, Stallone spent most of his time in small parts and b movies. He wrote the script for Rocky and told his agents that he refused to give it to any studio that wouldn't let him play the lead. Most of the studios rejected the idea of an unknown actor in the lead role for a major studio picture. Stallone stuck to his guns and the story became Hollywood legend and the movie itself made Stallone a huge star. The 80's would see major highs with a few lows. So wrestlingfigs...what is your favorite performance by Sylvester Stallone in the 80's?

I voted Rocky III because that movie helped kick off Mr. T's career.

I went with Rocky IV but it’s a really a tie between Rocky 3, 4, and Rambo 2. Stallone was on fire in the 80s!

Had to go with first blood. Rocky 3 and 4 were incredible as well

As much as I like Rocky III and First Blood, I went with Nighthawks. I only recently checked it out and thought it was pretty damn decent. Rutger Hauer really knew how to play a convincing villain.

Rocky 4. Nothing beats Rocky ending the Cold War.
