This is some of my vintage toy collection, first pic is my Super Powers collection,I'm missing a few of the more common ones, but i have all the rare ones, including the mail away clark kent. They all have their accesories, but some that they cant hold i bag so i wont lose them. If you dont remember these, they were from 84 & were based off a comic series from the time,This is one of the best superhero line of toys ever made in my opinion. For an 80's line they were amazingly well detailed & feature alot of characters that were never made in toy form & were nicely sculpted in a time when toys sucked for that type of detail. There were also ships & vehicles made for the line, which include a kick ass batmobile, which i have but can't fit inside my glass display right now. They even made a superman ship, which if you think about it makes no sense at all. The second pics are my vintage star wars collection. This is the complete toy line from the first two movies,The third pic shows the original twelve figures that started it all.If you don't know the history of Star Wars figures, back in the day they had no idea how big star wars was going to be when it came out they actually had no toys or merchandise whatsoever, when they realized that the movie was a huge success,It was too late to make any toys for the christmas holiday,so Kenner issued a set called the early bird set that was basically a rain check saying that when these figures were made you would get sent the original line up of twelve. Pretty weird when you think of how today they have figures in the store months before the movie is out. They were pretty much crap in comparison to todays real scan & articulation. This is a set i was really lucky to fall into & the guy charged me a buck a figure.I've been buying & selling collectibles & toys since i was a kid & this is the most mint set i ever had my hands on in fifteen years so i've kept it.I've probably sold thousands of starwars figures in my life & these blew my mind with how mint they were, all weapons & i can tell they were never even touched before. Behind those are a few accesory pack from the 1960's gijoe line. And also my carded mego spiderman from the 70's.He's got the rare red body & on a canadian card. Let me know if you'd like to see the rest of my collection, right now i'm working on pics of my vintage gi joes,Captain Action,Friday the 13th,Horror masks,Michael Myers masks, lobby cards, horror posters, autographs & other weird stuff from my pit of insanity.....

Nice Super Powers collection. I wish I could find a Cyborg. I also think they should release the short lived cartoon series on dvd, I've been waiting a while now for that!
Also, feel free to post other things you collect. Collection pictures are always cool to see!

Thanks for all the praise. Good to see some other Super Powers fans around here. I'm missing braniac,Tyr,samurai & desaad, but i'm too lazy to buy them, after getting the rare ones i'm not in too much of a rush to get them. Heres some pics of the unproduced figures in the super powers line, they also proposed a teen titans line at the time with a titans tower playset, which i have design pics of,if you like these i have other unproduced pics & original toy design sketches from the super powers line i'll post them if your interested. The pics show the unreleased mock ups of catwoman & man Bat that would have been in the next series, the next ones show the clark kent,Swamp thing & some original character with four arms named quadrex. Also planned but never produced for the line were solomon grundy, blue Beetle, super girl & Lois Lane. The last pic is the unproduced Darkseid's tower of darkness playset which looked kick ass.

At least we got the Swamp Thing later on.....sort of. The Swamp Thing line also made by Kenner fits in really well, it's pretty much what the SP Swamp Thing was going to be anywhoo.
That Man-Bat would have been awesome to have as a kid...or maybe now moreso!

No one has ever been able to answer this question. I swear that I remember El Dorado, Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, and The Wonder Twins being in a commercial for Super Powers figures that never came out. Am I completely imagining this?

The only prototypes ever produced were the ones in the pics above. The only others that they were going to make were blue beetle & solomon grundy for that series & they were never produced or worked on.The only other prototypes made were of vehicles,A joker hot rod,an all terrain vehicle with a villain cage & a super man phone booth which would switch him with the clark kent figure. They had designs drawn up of a catwoman vehicle, supercoupe, lois lane jet, electronic bat symbol,Titan's tower & wonder woman invisible jet. They also had designs drawn up for a twelve inch line that would have had a bizzaro supergirl...for some odd reason.

I didn't remember actual figures... I just remembered the cartoon images of those characters. As a kid, I just assumed they'd get figures. Maybe I'm wrong about them ever being in a commercial, or my mind saw Samurai, Plastic Man, etc. and also envisioned the rest of the Super Friends.

Cool customs man! You should do the SuperFriends if you feel inclined. I'd love to see an Apache Chief, El Dorado, Wonder Twins, Black Vulcan, etc. And The Legion of Doom members from the 70's version... like Captain Cold, The ToyMan, Gorilla Grodd, etc. Nice work!

Some pics of my Captain Action Collection,For those that don't know,Captain Action was a line of toys that debuted in the 60's to try to captialize on the popularity of the superheroes of the 60's & gi joe style accesories. It was alos the first real super hero based line of toys. The origial line consisted of captain action who almost looked like a cross between a super hero & airline pilot, captain action was sold seperately with his own outfit, captain hat, sword & ray gun.The super hero outfits were sold seperately with mask, outfit & different accesories, The villian in the line was the alien evil scientist Dr. Evil who came in a silver nehru jacket, pimp medallion, ray gun, bearded human disguise & blue sandals. They never made any villain outfits for dr evil, but he later had an evil lab set come out for him. In the second series they added Action boy,the kid sidekick who could fit into sidekick outfits like aqualad, robin & superboy.Action boy was sold in two outfits, red & blue with pet panther & in a space suit. The line only lasted two years & is rare as hell to find & it's one of the most rare & expensive toys series of all time. Also the plastic in the guns doesn't react well with the plastic on the holsters causing melt marks in weapons when you do find them,so very few exist in mint condition. from left to right are Captain action in aqua man outfit, action boy,Captain action with the glass scanner radar helmet accesorie,Captain action in captain america outfit,Dr. Evil,Captain action in Flash Gordon outfit,Captain action in Sgt. Rock outfit,Action boy in superboy outfit with thought helmet & lab set,Captain action in Superman outfit & captain action in batman costume,Also in the pic are the lauching cannon. Also in the set were the phantom outfit,Spiderman, green hornet, tonto, lone ranger,Buck Rogers & steve canyon,I have most of the pieces but not complete outfits for those.

There are existing hard copies of at least 5 more characters slated to be in the Super Powers lineup: El Dorado Quadrex Silicon Shockwave Rocketman Who the heck are these guys, and what am I talking about? Go here and see: www.toyotter.com/spfind/It also shows that the Wonder Twins were at least at the conceptualizing stage! Too bad we never got them! Like Kevin, I also have some Super Powers customs, check them out here: wrestlefestonline.com/SuperPowers.htmlWhile we're at it, the Catwoman shown in your pic has been debunked as a custom, made by long time Super Powers customizer "Scooter." Read about this strange story here: www.scooterscustomworks.com/GALLERIES/EPINTRO.htmUnder the heading: "I made the crop circles" Awesome collection, so many great vintage figures, I'm jealous! Thanks for sharing! WC
