I'm working on my New Generation collection and I'm stuck on whether or not some guys belong. Any input is appreciated.

I would put all in a New Generation display except the Nation of Domination.

Mega maniacs cannot be new gen imo Agreed, I'd put that Beefcake on a Hogan era shelf. Ultimate Maniacs and Papa Shango probably would be better suited on a Hogan era shelf, too.

I guess it all depends on what you consider the start of the NG. I used to say when Hogan left after KOTR '93, but I've been rethinking it.

IMO, Hogan leaving after Summerslam 1991 to make movies was the end of the Hulkamania Era, there was a 1 year transition period and the New Generation Era was ushered in when Bret Hart beat Ric Flair to win the WWF Championship.

I start my New Gen display after Wrestlemania 8 and would include all of those, but I have 1997 separated because I think it’s more important to put those figures with the other Attitude figures. I could see an argument for Survivor Series 1997 being the farthest you could claim the New Gen era went, so you can put the Nation in there if you want, but Rock & D’Lo are in 1998 attires

If you think about it, Summerslam 92 was headlined by Bret and Bulldog, and then Survivor Series was HBK and Bret.

Kamala Papa Shango Ultimate Maniacs Warrior and Savage Retrofest Savage NOD Rock/Faarooq/Dlo Brown Mega Maniacs Brutus Beefcake Technically, none are New Gen. Retrofest Savage is closest but that’s still from mid 93 and New Generation really didn’t become a thing til a year later.

NOD are more Attitude Era than New Generation
Also, Mega-Maniacs definitely aren't NG by definition of including Hogan.
I personally consider the KOR 1993 departure of Hogan to be the transition date. Sort of makes sense to me, the "New Generation" begins after the "Old Generation" leaves, YKWIM?

I’ve always considered the start of the new generation to be the moment vince puts the strap on the new generation i.e Bret beats Flair at Saskatoon in 1992. No clearer point for me. Hogan comes and goes after that but that changed everything.

The New Generation was starting off with the ascention of Bret Hart and Hogan leaving at Mania 8 IMO. Just because Hogan returns for 2 matches at the start of 93 it pretty much changes nothing. Hell Monday Night Raw was in full swing at that time.
That means you can easily put Kamala, Papa Shango, Maniacs and MM Brutus and the Ultimate Maniacs in the new gen display.
Retrofest Savage depicts Macho in mid-late 93 so you're safe there no matter when you consider the start of the new gen to be.The Nation is attitude era though.

He was working some house show loops into the summer of 1993 and was even on a Pay Per View in June. Hardly "two matches at the start of 93".

The fact he was on house shows into the Summer is little more than trivia at this point honestly. It's hardly the Hulkamania era if he's barely involved with the product is it.

It's also not the New Generation since they don't have the new logo and haven't started pushing that branding either. That starts at Mania X.

Well, I think the era is more important than what era the wrestler was on top. For example, if you have a 2002 "Hulk Still Rules" figure would you not have him in the Ruthless Aggression set? Know what I mean?

I would always say when Bret Hart became a world champion was kind of the beginning of the new era. Even though Papa came out around wrestlemania 8 that’s where the change began happening in that year.
