Mattel failed it by not giving us his most iconic looks. Glad we have shield angle and ss2017 angle!! 🙄🙄 bill “I make whatever attires I want” miekina Yet another in a long line of talents we got terrible attire choices from because Bill has brain worms. Hey Can someone remind me why Bill doesn't post here anymore? I'm sure Bill wishes he had the kind of power that people here thinks he has.
No rational minded person could blame him. Imagine becoming the scapegoat for every petty little complaint a base as well adjusted as action figure collectors could think to muster up?

he designs and picks attires Does he design? Yes. Does he have all power of attire choices? No. Steve has said in the Q&A thread that he, Rob, and Bill discuss line ups and attires with each one having there own personal taste/view. The best example I can think of is Sherri Martel. Steve wanted the two in one, Bill has said he would have done Mania 7 to go with DM Savage and DM Warrior. Then the WWE gets involved. Steve said that Mattel had to change the color of Monsoons tie. If WWE is changing something as little as that, you can assume other changes are being made. I think they like to use the WWE getting involved when it’s convenient for them. So the WWE cares about Monsoons tie, but doesn’t care when Natalya is made as a midget wrestler, or attires that are done half ass, that their own likeness even call them out on, or Bret Harts salmon colored outfit, and on and on Bill is the lead designer and too stubborn to admit the mistakes that have been made. Let’s be sure to get every variation and color of Nakamura, WGAF about Sting, Flair, Angle, Hardy’s, and on and on. 🤷♂️

I love when people like you take up for Mattel, as if they can do no wrong They do a lot right, I’ll admit, better than any other wrestling figure company ever But the lineup choices, attire/era selections, parts choices, color choices, very little transparency when it comes to design, leaves a lot to be desired

Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of legitimate things that one could discuss about Mattel, but honestly a lot of the stuff people people use Bill as a scapegoat for is moronic.

I don’t think Bill is the boogeyman or anything close to that, he’s a strange dude but he has a role with a ton of pressure but he’s designed and made loads of fantastic figures and continues to do so, no one can take that away from him but in the past and more so lately it seems, he or the over arching group at Mattel have overseen a lot of terrible figures, have made absent minded design decisions and flat out crap attire and part choices and let easily fixable factory errors slide time and time again. (Basic Baron Corbins hair is ridiculous, the 2 new Kane figures errors are ridiculous etc...).
If you take the plaudits you have to take the criticism too. This isn’t a Bill/Mattel forum.

Mattel's made a ton of sh*t figures, characters I don't want, or attires that don't appeal to me, but honestly? Some people here would do well to look inward at some of the sh*t they're saying when they take their frustrations over things like that (which are textbook first world problems) out on an actual person who went and tried to make himself accessible to the user base here. It's a small miracle that Steve is still as willing to tread the waters here as he is. It's funny how people always talk about wanting more transparency from the team at Mattel, given how hard this forum has collectively worked to give those guys exactly no reason to want to engage in discussion. And LOL at whoever tried to throw Bill under the bus for Corbin's hair. If they've told us once, they've told us a thousand times - the basics are handled by a completely different team.

Let me pull a page from the What? playbook only I'll keep out the insults so it doesn't get deleted. Let's look at the wrestlers you mentioned, compared to Nakamura. Jeff Hardy - signed 2017 - 9 Elites Matt Hardy - signed 2017 - 8 Elites Sting - signed 2014 - 8 Elites Angle - signed 2017 - 6 Elites Nakamura - signed 2016 - 5 Elites (1 yet to come out so 6) Flair - signed 2012/2013? - 4 Elites So yes question the attire choice made by three man team, but you can't question the effort of getting these out when Jeff has almost doubled Nakamura in just a three year span and Sting was averaging one a year. Flair you could make the argument for.

We have known this since he was vaulted into the DM slot originally. Bill or Bill and Steve or Bill and Steve and Rob, love then some Strong Style

It’s ok to disagree with some decisions and question some things

They still count as figures whether you want them to or not.

Stop kidding yourself How dare he compare Nakamura to a list of wrestler that you listed. The nerve to compare Nakamura to a list of wrestlers that you taserface listed. God. I really really really hope that @taterface comes up with a new list of completely different wrestlers that had nothing to do with this original one. Look at who you are comparing Nakamura to! Did Wyatt or Ziggler win a Rumble and wrestle Styles at Mania when he was bringing credibility back to the title? No they didn't. Plus Ziggler was notorious for waiting about resigning with the company. So WWE probably told Mattel to not have Zig in lines.
No one is sucking up to Bill. Just pointing out how some people are on stupid pills.
