Man 27 years later and I'm still scratching my head at this guys brief run in the booth.I know he was well known in the NY market but still he should've been canned after the 1st Raw but somehow he lasted 3 more months!
Shame too as the only time we got Gorilla/Bobby calling Raw was that March and it was ruined by this ham n egger being the 3rd wheel.Horrible Vince impression and all.

Kills my enjoyment of the early RAWs he was that bad.
Not even Art Donovan "so bad it's good", just so bad it's bad.

Donovan at the very least was like watching it with your grandpa so you can forgive em in the stuff he said.Plus him being a Baltimore legend it was fine for him to have a one off. Bartlett was just brutal in every sense of the word.

The story behind Barlett I believe is that Vince McMahon seen him do a comedy act and thought he was funny as can be!
Goes to show you what Vince finds funny in comedy then.
I didn't hate Rob, I think as time went on Rob found his place in that he knew he wasn't a WWF commentator and it was about just being a character then. As soon as I enjoyed him doing it, he then left the WWF. But I did find the first four Raw shows that he did pretty bad.
