It's sad to think that three years ago we lost Bobby kind of unexpectedly. Sure we knew his health problems but nobody really knew how bad they were. It was quite a surprise when the news broke, but then again, what death isn't a surprise even if people are ill. People always put Bobby as the "greatest" manager of all time. He is always at the top of the list. If possible, Bobby is even greater than that! It should go Bobby Heenan, and then whoever you want as Number One manager. I was very lucky to see Bobby at several house shows and PPVs and was able to meet him and I called him Mr. Heenan, he told me to call him Bobby, and he was just the nicest guy and so damn funny, my uncle use to do security at the old Chicago Amphitheater back in the 70's when Bobby would wrestle there and my uncle swears that Bobby would "babysit" me once in a while when my Uncle had to throw out drunks, my Uncle has Alzheimer's and he STILL tells me that story every time I see him. So it could be true! lol Could you imagine if Bobby didn't get sick and he was able to do a podcast?? It could have been about wrestling, entertainment, checkers, paint drying, no matter what Bobby would have made it amazing. Bobby would have been amazing at the comedic neighbor next door in a sit-com or pop up in a movie here or there. Life wasn't too fair to Bobby since his voice is what made him who he is. Three damn years without "The Weasel". Perhaps the greatest worker of them all. He could talk, he could bump (and he wasn't trained!), and damn he could make you hate him. We miss you much Mr. Heenan, sorry, I mean, Bobby.

Yeah, it's a shame. He is at the top of my list of greatest managers. And I would have loved for him to have a podcast... the stories he could have told.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I think everyone knew his problems were pretty severe. The man was missing half his face for the past few years of his life. I wasn't shocked Bobby had passed. I almost felt relief for him in knowing that. Imagine having half your face missing, no jaw, no chin, having a gaped mouth and not being able to talk, when your entire career was based on talking.
He was the greatest of all time, no doubt about that.

The GOAT of managers no doubt about it.My God what a personality.
I remember joining WF here over 4 years ago and without hesitation I knew the name I would use would be in his honor.Been a fan since day one and that will never change.
I'll forever be a humanoid that's for damn sure.We miss ya Bobby.

Bobby Heenan was a great one. One of the funniest wrestling personalities ever. When I met him I told him he and Gorilla were the best and he gave me a thankful nod because he couldn’t talk. That’s so sad that one of the greatest talkers couldn’t do just that in his last few years on this earth:(

Bobby Heenan was one of a kind. Some of the best one liners I’ve ever heard came from him. Whenever I think of him I think of the back and forth between him and Gorilla Monsoon that always went something like this:
Bobby Heenan: some random off the wall comment
Gorilla Monsoon: “Oh will you stop it!”

My brother saw him at a convention a few months before he passed. He said it was sad to see him in such rough shape. He kept stuffing paper towels in his mouth to stop the drooling.
Sorry to bring the mood down. But here are my favorite Heenan moments.
Monsoon: Brain, what do you think about these Machines (referring to the Giant Machine, Strong Machine & Super Machine)?
Heenan: I'll tell you one thing, I'm not going to bend them over & find out where the batteries go!
Monsoon: Queen Sherri better watch herself. She'll get disqualified. Heenan: I'll waffle her in a second! Monsson: Will you stop!
(Camera pans the WCW crowd during a Jim Duggan match & they're chanting USA! USA! USA!) Heenan: S.O.A.P! S.O.A.P! S.O.A.P! Schiavone: Come on, Brain!

I think one of my favorite back and forth's with Monsoon was a match between the Texas Tornado and the Warlord.
Heenan: Well, the Warlord is bigger.
Monsoon: Well, the Tornado is faster.
Heenan: But the Warlord is stronger.
Monsoon: But the Tornado is smarter.
Heenan: Now you've lied to the people...
Hysterical, simply the best.

I liked it when Brian Pillman grabbed Bobby Heenan during a match and pissed him off in WCW. That was really funny brother.

I liked it when Brian Pillman grabbed Bobby Heenan during a match and pissed him off in WCW. That was really funny brother. I hated it and it really shows how low Brian Pillman stooped to try and get his gimmick over. He was Attitude Era before it was even considered a thing and that's great but he was like a totally different human being than the one I grew up watching. With blurring the lines of kayfabe I really felt disgusted by how he acted. I would have loved to see Bobby knock him on the floor and it would have killed the gimmick right then and there. The sad thing is, Brian probably knew he had an easy target in Bobby. Bobby was a real fighter and as bad of shape as he was in, it seems he never lost his zest for life. I know the travel and appearances may have been tough for him later in life but it made the fans so happy to see him and I'm sure it helped him and his family to see how beloved he was all these years later. The only time I've ever traveled by plane was to a show to see Bobby some years ago. It was a worthwhile experience. I got to see Bobby stand up like Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka so he could give a huge to Nikolai Volkoff and I saw him sign a long personal inscription to Nikolai on an 8x10 of the two of them when Bobby was Nikolai's manager very early on. I remember the date of his death like it was yesterday, I remember where I was and everything. Bobby was just that memorable!

I'm not trying to go too far off topic but it really amazes me that doctors can make someone into a totally different looking person (plastic surgeries) and yet what they were able to do for Bobby and Roger Ebert is the BEST they could do. I'm sure neither guy would begrudge doctors and both were strong men and led the best lives they could but when I see before and after pictures of celebrities it makes me wonder what more could be done for those two men. Also, whether someone is trolling or not I still hate what Brian Pillman did and I wish the Loose Cannon gimmick ended right then and there. I'm sure no one would have come out and flattened Pillman (not even Andre if he were alive) because it's bad for business but he really deserved to get laid out for that one.

Who could ever forget this: Still one of the best tag team break-ups I've ever seen. Great segment. You know, I may be the only one, but I liked the old Barber Shop interview segments. The Barber was never the best talker but he was good at playing his character. I also liked that he didn't try to take the spotlight away from the guys he brought onto the show. He would get the segment going by asking the question(s) then let the other guys do what needed to get done. A lot of news anchors and interviewers today could learn from that...
