Ok so we have 9 teams to choose from....4th in the WWF poll was a tie between the Dudleys & E&C. So choose your 4....
For me this is pretty easy.
1) The Road Warriors. First ones to win all 3 World Tag Titles AWA, NWA & WWF. Left an indelible mark on tag team wrestling & were absolutely huge in terms of popularity & impact. Massive in Japan too which cant be underestimated.
2) The Steiner Brothers. Won multiple tag team gold in WCW & WWF and were dominant in Japan too like the RWS as a top gaijin team.
3) Demolition. They WERE tag team wrestling in the WWF from WM4 until SSlam 1990. 3 time champs as face & heel during a time when Vince highly prized the belts & thought carefully who got them. 2nd only in popularity to Hogan at this time.
4) Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard. 1st ones to capture "the double" of NWA & WWF tag straps. Were at the top of the card in the NWA & came in to WWF and quickly done the same with no gimmick makeover in a time when the tag division was stuffed to the top with great talent & notoriously difficult to crack. Even Bret Hart gave them props for this.
Team #4 was the hard choice for me. It was between the Hart Foundation & Arn/Tully. Took me a while because I love the Hart Foundation....but there ya go. Have at it.

I came onto the wrestling scene in the late 90s so off the bat ill say I don’t have as much of a connection to some of the classic teams like Demolition as others on here might.
1. Road Warriors 2. The Hart Foundation 3. The Steiners 4. The Hardy Boyz (this one was tough but I had to look at longevity, they’ve pretty much been a team for over 30 years and always left lasting memories)

My picks are,
Road Warriors, probably the most over team in wrestling and they were badass in every regard, I just wish their early 90s WWF run could have went on a nit longer.
Hart Foundation, I always loved the Hart Foundation as a kid and while Bret gets all the credit, these two were perfect together and complimented each other very well.
Demolition, I loved Demolition as a kid and I have said it a million times, but their pop at WrestleMania 6 was the peak of their careers.
Hardy Boyz. The fourth sport for me was tough, but I just ate up everything the Hardy Boyz did during the Attitude Era, Matt and Jeff (and Lita) were so good together.

Those are just who people like more than the other. In reality, for me, it would be:
The Road Warriors The Rock and Roll Express Crusher and Bruiser The Dudleys

#1- Steiner Brothers- Much like LOD they dominated every company they went to. However unlike the LOD the Steiners could actually work a match. If you wanted to have them brawl against Doom or work 30mins against Money Inc, they could do it.
#2- Legion of Doom- All their accomplishments they have to be right at the top. As I stated above though the only thing that separates them from #1 is the fact they really werent great workers.
#3- Anderson/Blanchard- Two guys who I feel can be put right at the top with the previous two mentioned. The only downfall this team has IMO is longevity. They were the top team in NWA and WWF during their run but their tenure only lasted a little over 2 years. I would have loved to seen a stint with them in NJPW or AJPW like the previous two teams received.
#4- Rock n Roll Express- Unlike the other 5 listed (with the exception of the Hardy Boyz) RnR Express has a lot of success in multiple companies. While teams like Hart Foundation, Demolition, E&C all had their runs, they were all under one banner and with one set of titles. The Hardys have had a lot of success in other companies as well but the fact that tag team wrestling doesnt have the depth or quality in their period like the RnR Express did lets me give the nod to them. I think RnR could have been higher on the list but never holding the "big one" (WWF Tag) does need to count against them. However you cant ignore their success with titles in NWA, SMW, AWA, USWA and Mid South among other territories.

Road Warriors Rock & Roll Express
These are always my 1 and 2 in these kind of lists. Hawk and Animal were such a different, unique presentation when they broke through. They caught your attention and made you seriously think these guys were legit monsters.
Rock & Roll helped define tag team wrestling forever. They didn't invent the face in peril spot, but they sure as hell perfected it. It is called "Playing Ricky Morton" for a reason. I don't think any team was ever as over as these guys were.
Arn & Tully
Probbaly 2 of the smoothest technicians in history. And they transitioned well. Remember, in the Original Horsemen, Arn and Ole were the tag team and Tully the mid-card title guy. Ole quits, They bring in Luger, and suddenly, the team is Arn and Tully and no one really noticed. The reason? They were that damn good from the get go.
Edge & Christian
They don't get the acclaim that the Dudleys and Hardys do for their era, but I always thought they were by far the superior team. The Hardy may have been flashier and the Dudleys had the ECW love, but Edge and Christian were the better team and superior wrestlers.
British Bulldogs get the HM here. Their run was cut short, so they don't get the acclaim their rivals The Hart Foundation do. Davey and Dynamite were so much fun to watch and fit perfectly in the mid-80's WWF boom.

Almost ironic timing that this gets made days ago, LOD are in first place and Animal passes away.... just shows how important that tag team was to wrestling in general!
