What are your current thoughts on gimmick matches?
When I was a kid, into a teenager I was automatically super in to the idea of any gimmick matches. They could of done a "LOSER EATS A BOOGER" match, and I probably would of been into it. Then into early adulthood, I was still excited by ladder, cage, street fight matches.
But now well into my thirties, a gimmick is a sure fire way to turn me off of a match. I'm not saying if it doesn't end up being a great match, I'm not enjoying it. Just at this point of my life, straight matches are where my interest is. That's what I want to see.
How do you guys feel?

I think they’re a perfect story escalation
I hate oh they’re fighting in hell in a cell match bc this months ppv is hell in a cell which in its argument its great marketing ploy to promote these monthly ppvs in giant events
I just wish TLC, Cell matches both happened organically I mean for example Edge/Taker
Those two had 5 matches on PPV in 2008; 3 really good regular matches. Escalated in two gimmick matches. It’s needed in a very prolonged story.

When we got these gimmick shows, where no matter the story, even if it's thrown together, we need to have X match on X PPV. As a kid, War Games was like the only annual gimmick match. I haven't watched WWE in years, but I think between them and the trend is started, it probably just burned me out.

I have hard time also remembering WWE also had a event called Fatal 4 Way and the fact that was gimmick show. I think it just hurts the idea of stories overall
