My first taste of wrestling was in 1991, walking into a friends house and seeing the LOD being interviewed during the Battle royal at the royal Albert hall event. I have been hooked ever since. I have always credited seeing that interview as what lured me into my lifelong obsession. The Road Warriors / Legion of Doom have an always will hold a special place in my heart.
Sleep well Animal.

The legend battle royal up there has another entry.I can picture many Doomsday Devices being handed out.RIP Animal. OHHHHH WHAT A RUSH!!!! Road Warriors forever.
I can just picture it...
Davey Boy and Dynamite just eliminated Owen and the Anvil, and they think they have just won the battle royal, when all of a sudden... "Ahhhh what a rush!!!" hits the speakers and out come Animal and Hawk to face off against the British Bulldogs in a dream match that only our loved ones up in Heaven get to watch.
R.I.P. Animal! You will be forever missed!

Just heard this on the radio here in Ireland. Genuinely very sad news for me. I was very sad over Hawk passing and am here too. The Road warriors/Legion Of Doom are my favourite tag team & are one of my favourite all time acts in the business.
R.I.P. Joe..You were a gent when I met you too.

Very sad to hear. The road warriors are easily one of the most iconic tag teams the industry has ever seen. R.I.P Animal.

Sadness really hits on this one. Just the presence that Hawk and Animal had, that aura around them. It's sadly something that not many wrestlers today have. Then when you add Paul Ellering to the mix, it was just an iconic trio. Now sadly, Paul is the last one left.

Really sad. Road Warriors were larger than life to me as a kid and it’s a shame both are gone now. Baddest team of all time, imo.

When I met Animal I asked him if he watches Total Bellas because of his brother? He said “yeah I loved the episode in which he cries” 😆

Man 2020 has sucked! I met Road Warrior Animal at a convention and he was very nice! He had a replica of the spikes he wore that I was able to wear for the photo op. That was a mark out moment. He was one half of what I think is in the Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling tag teams. RIP Animal! Me too. ( <---) He was always my favorite of the two. Hawk was the wild guy, where Animal just flat scared me as a kid.

Was part of a special meet & greet promotion a few years back. Deal where a local indy fed paired with a minor league hockey team. Got tickets to the game, seats to a couple of matches in a ring set up in the back of the arena (near the zamboni), and the autograph/photo session with Animal where you got to wear the famous shoulder pads. Fantastic time.

this one hurts just as bad as losing Hawk. Seriously the Road Warriors were simply awe-inspiring to my 7-year old eyes back in the day. Another part of my childhood gone forever but man did Hawk and Animal entertain! Great feuds, great moments, great memories. The next generation of wrestling fans will only see the pioneering stuff they did online, but man did they move tag team wrestling along!

This is truly a sad day losing Animal and Gale Sayers.
The Road Warriors were my favorite tag team ever.
