If all it takes to please people is a directionless talent to get written into a role, this slot could have been filled by almost half the roster. And that is proof of kneejerk Creative.

IMO, a faction leader needs to be a baaaad dude, larger than life, tough, powerful. Ali is none of those things. Leader of a faction called the Flippy Fly Crew? Well, ok.

I actually loved Raw last night dunno if it was the amount of big story line shifts or what but it was just GOOD!

Some people WANT to hate Retribution. It's as simple as that.
They could have wheeled out CM Punk as the leader and it would have been a case of "typical WWE, pushing the older guys."

You guys do know that Retribution helped Ali win last week, right? And that MVP openly acknowledged that earlier in the show. Even if they decided to change it a few weeks ago to include Ali, so what? I mean (since someone brought up AEW) Brodie Lee wasn't the original planned leader for the Dark Order and people are okay with the direction now, so where's the difference? People cry that WWE doesn't listen to their fans, so if WWE heard people didn't like the Retribution angle, and they adjusted it, isn't that a good thing? I honestly don't get it anymore. No, you obviously don't get it... it's only ever a good thing, when saint, TK does it.

It's a pretty spot on comparison I'd say. Dark order was every bit as dead in the water before Brodie. Now it's one of the most popular things they have. He wasn't the first choice either, he was like the fourth person they had written into that spot. Whether or not Ali is the guy that can really turn retribution around will take a bit to see, but for how much people have clamored for Ali to get a push, this is a pretty big opportunity for him to be able to take something, run with it, and really put himself over.

Retribution hasn't exactly been well handled. but then again, raw is a total mess. people would've popped for Punk. hopefully they can make some ice cream out of bull crap with Mansoor as part of it.

It was started as a sh*tty social narrative piece not even veiled as a wrestling faction. It doesn't deserve the excuses about how it was mishandled or the fantasy bookings meant to save the angle that it keeps receiving. Wouldn't matter what hugging company trotted it out.
