summerslam 2004
growing up in small town canada, my parents never even considered making the drive to toronto or london for a house show or anything. just wasn't in their field of vision. i never really clamored for it either, despite being a massive fan. i had a buddy on this forum who lived in toronto and invited my mom and i to go with him and his dad. was a great time...i was 14. i was a bigtime benoit fan so him losing was a bit of a groan. the wave during the undertaker/jbl match was memorable, and apparently taker resented the crowd for it. fun time.

A World Wrestling All Stars show. It was basically the bridge between the end of WCW and the start of TNA. It was pretty much a little indy company yet still had top names, even Bret Hart made an appearance.
Jeff Jarrett defeated Sting in the main event after Rick Steiner hit him with the guitar. Because it was such a small event, security was really minimal. After the show ended, some parted the barrier (not jumped) to get pieces of broken guitar only to find it was actually corrugated cardboard.

I've talked about it a few times here on WFigs, but my first live wrestling show took place in late February, 1988 (Boise, Idaho). I remember it like it was yesterday. Here are the results: 01. S.D. Jones pinned Luscious Johnny Valiant 02. Outlaw Ron Bass pinned Brady Boone 03. Dangerous Danny Davis pinned Sam Houston 04. WWE Women's Tag Team Champions the Jumping Bomb Angels defeated the Glamour Girls 05. Ken Patera pinned Demolition Smash (with Demolition Ax) 06. The Ultimate Warrior and Hercules Hernandez battled to a double-countout 07. Hulk Hogan & Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Ted DiBiase & Virgil (with Andre the Giant) when Hogan pinned Virgil

The first show that I remember going to was the RAW when Undertaker turned heel on JR. My dad used to take me to shows as a toddler, but I dont really remember anything from those shows.

Okay, so I have a unique story for my first wrestling show I ever attended. It was this show right here, in London, Ontario, Canada.
WWF @ London, Ontario - London Gardens - November 26, 1994 Duke Droese defeated the Brooklyn Brawler Bob Holly fought the 1-2-3 Kid to a draw The Smoking Gunns defeated the Heavenly Bodies WWF Women's Champion Bull Nakano defeated Alundra Blayze Jim Neidhart defeated Doink the Clown Owen Hart defeated Adam Bomb Lex Luger defeated Tatanka
Now that seems like an okay show, right?? Well as most should know by now I am a huge fan of that era. The New Generation era to me is just the best. And my favourite wrestlers from that era are HBK and.... "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel.
So now look at that date of the show I was at where I got to see Lex Luger defeating Tatanka in the main event.
Now look at the show that was happening at MSG in New York that very same night....
WWF @ New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden - November 26, 1994 (7,300)
Action Zone - 11/27/94: Diesel (sub. for Bret Hart) pinned WWF World Champion Bob Backlund in a No DQ, no count-out, no time-limit match to win the title at the 9-second mark following a boot to the midsection and a powerbomb.
That's right, on the same night of the very first WWF show I ever get to witness live.... my favourite wrestler from the New Generation era wins the WWF Title but only in New York City!!!
*sigh*
But overall, it was still fun to attend that WWF show and witness live WWF action in the ring.

I was a pretty big fan of Diesel back in 95 and was wondering back then why he didn’t wrestle on my first show? He was in Vienna, Austria that day.

April 6th, 1980- Roanoke, VA. Ric Flair, Blackjack Mulligan & Andre the Giant vs Jimmy Snuka, The Masked Superstar I & The Masked Superstar II. The atmosphere was electric, and especially enjoyable for a kid.

All i can truly recall is it being a television taping in Syracuse, NY. I was relatively young and plain exhausted after the 5 or 6 hour show. I had no idea what was going on at the time after seeing Boris Zhukov lose like 5 or 6 times.

New Generation Era is probably my favorite too I went to a house show here in the UK once when they were filming RAW or Smackdown the same night (in London I think) and I vowed I would never do that again as the line up was so poor.

I will go by company: My very first show and first WCW show was in 1991. I don't remember any specifics other than my father knew a guy who worked for the arena and he took our program backstage and got it signed by Ric Flair and Barry Windham. I lost the item not to long after. I went to 4 or 5 total WCW shows, with one being a Nitro. All shows were at Baltimore Arena.
First indy show was in early 1992. My father heard about the show from a guy named Adrian Hall who he bought comics from at the time. Adrian came out during the show to see us and they did a roster autograph signing at some point during the show. I lost the autograph book.
My first WWF show was in September 1993 and the only things I remember were the opening match with Owen Hart and Bastion Booger. I thought Booger would be a huge star for years to come. I think Owen won and I was disappointment. I saw Razor Ramon and wound up buying his yellow full face shirt they were selling. I wore that shirt for so long that by the early 2000s with all the washes and wearings that it was worn into nothing and I wound up throwing it out. I went to I think 5 WWF shows with one being the December In Your House where I went nuts seeing the hog pen before the show.

WWF @ Chicago, IL - UIC Pavilion - May 24, 1985 (almost 3,000)
The final three matches aired on 'AM Chicago' 5/27/85 with commentary from Oprah Winfrey & Jerry Valiant
Bret Hart pinned SD Jones
Ken Patera pinned George Wells
The Spoiler pinned Rick McGraw
Jesse Ventura defeated Ivan Putski via count-out after the two brawled on the floor; prior to the bout, Oprah interviewed both participants
Tito Santana & the Junkyard Dog defeated WWF IC Champion Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake when JYD pinned Valentine with a powerslam
WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan pinned Don Muraco with a roll up after Muraco accidentally collided with Mr. Fuji on the ring apron; prior to the bout, Oprah interviewed both participants; after the bout, Hogan chased off both Muraco & Fuji before celebrating with Oprah
Yeah this had Oprah being a ring announcer as well a couple of years before she was OPRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have this all on VHS somewhere in my collection. I remember everything, but most of all, how small the ring looked when I finally saw it.
