The non-retail Brets that were made started with this mock up piece, It seems that Bret was possibly going to have a clothesline action the 2nd go around. Unfortunately the cost control people at Hasbro won out and re-released the original Bret mold but with new colors. Quote Hasbromaniac

I think I'd rather have had the repaint over him with this action.

That original Bret mold just works for me. Cant imagine him with any other action.

Would have worked as a Hart Foundation Bret ready to give the Hart Attack. As for singles Bret I’m happy with what we got.

I’d have liked a perfect mould with long tights

I'm really glad we got a repaint. Bret is one of my favorites of the Hasbro figures. I hated the Tatanka/ Texas Tornado sculpt and I can't picture it fitting Bret at all. If anything give that to Razor given his finisher and entrance poses...even though this is meant as a spinning punch action, still much easier to do the Razor's Edge. But again, glad they didn't since the Razor we got looks really cool. lol

I'm happy with the OG Bret action feature, it was perfect. But these are always fun to see.
