Kris Kash: If I can have some decorum for a moment, I can get this over with so we can all get on with our evening.
Kris pauses as he leans over the podium.
Kris Kash: Thank you. So tonight we had an attendance of 7,218 for a live gate of $697,587. Billy Broom did have to go to the hospital after his title match with Drakz, but initial reports are positive.
Kris takes the mic from the podium.
Kris Kash: Now, I realize that I'm still relatively new to the wrestling world. And because of that, some talent in the back may feel that I'm in over my head taking on the empire known as WFWF. But I assure you, my portfolio will show that I am undoubtedly qualified to run this promotion. And as such, I feel it's important, dare I say vital, for those under my charge to understand how I conduct business.
He flashes a smug grin.
Kris Kash: And I want my roster to feel empowered. Oh yes, I want my roster to feel as though they have a voice. As long as it's constructive. What we've had recently, is not that at all. And I don't like to penalize talent for speaking their mind, but I feel my hand is forced.
The crowd of reporters start to chatter.
Kris Kash: Now make no mistake, this isn't the first time someone's said something disparaging about me. It probably won't be the last, either. But what I cannot allow is for one of the members of this roster to go around stealing property and attacking other members of the roster from behind. That is already bad enough. But then to go and air what amounts to sour grapes due to his own track record, well I feel a line must be drawn. That's why I have decided to fine Josh Dean $100,000 for... basically all of his recent actions.
Josh Dean: Well isn't that convenient!
The sea of reporters turn their heads toward the back of thr conference room, where former WFWF World Heavyweight Champion Josh Dean has sauntered in through the crowd, making his way along the wall toward the stage that Kris Kash is standing on. He is holding the WFWF Championship on his shoulder.
Josh Dean: Here you are, wanting to fine me because I said some things that hurt your feelings, Kris. And this just so happens to be coming on a night where you undoubtedly spent a large sum of money on a couple big, sweaty men. And I've been tormenting this company for what...three months now before you decide to do anything? Predictable.
Josh smirks.
Josh Dean: Did Isaac put you up to this?
Kris Kash: Speaking of him, I figured you'd be long gone knowing that Drakz is on the hunt for you.
Josh reaches the stage and looks Kris Kash up and down, giving him a particularly peculiar look around the forehead region.
Kris Kash: What are you doing?
Josh Dean: Checking to make sure you don't have the word stupid tattooed to your forehead. Because right now, that's how you're acting.
Kris Kash: Oh, do tell.
Josh Dean: Well, I can start with the decision of that haircut you got. Is it natural, or did you consciously pay to look like Ronald McDonald f*cked Raggedy Ann?
Kris Kash: Look, I like to fancy myself a businessman first, promoter second. And I know in business, that means making deals with difficult people. And that's what I'm hoping to do here.
Josh Dean: Ok, let's review. You want to fine me, then have the audacity to claim that I should be running? Now you wanna talk deals? How exactly does that logic work?
Kris Kash: It works because you have something that doesn't belong to you.
Josh Dean: Oh, you're talking about this?
Josh takes the WFWF Championship off his shoulder and all but shoves it in Kris Kash's face.
Josh Dean: I told your predecessor that I was taking this as collateral until I was granted what I earned years ago. Something she knew I was entitled to, but made sure I didn't receive before my unfortunate injury. My one on one rematch with Isaac Cray, that's what this about, Kris. Man, she really did leave you in a hell of a bind.
The reporters start buzzing, one finally chimes in.
Reporter: Josh, what about your promise to leave WFWF with the title?
Josh grabs a mic from the press conference table to address the press.
Josh Dean: Well, this tool right here isn't doing anything to actually sway my decision. He's had the time to, but not enough respect for me to even draw up a damn contract.
He turns his attention back to Kris Kash.
Josh Dean: Time's running out, Kris. So instead of shelling out a hundred grand or more for a bunch of meat heads who pack Raisennetes, you could be ensuring that I don't end up on someone else's television show with this title. Because I got news for you.
He steps closer to Kris Kash, who surprisingly stands his ground.
Josh Dean: If I want to get Isaac before Wembley, then I'll get him. As far as his little stunt against Billy Broom, all it proved is that he's scared. And he should be.
Tyson Watts: Mr. Kash, if I may interject for a second.
Josh's face turns to disdain as he turns around to see that the Vanguard Champion, Johnny Mason, and his handler, Tyson Watts, have entered the press conference room. They walk toward the stage as reporters continue to chatter.
Tyson Watts: You shouldn't have to be subjected to this, being berated by a man who hasn't even been active in three years. And I for one think you've done an outstanding job since assuming control of WFWF. To me, it's pretty clear that you recognize talent and grant opportunities as such.
They reach the stage.
Tyson Watts: One such individual, this man standing right here before you, has been the benefactor of your vision. And that man is STILL the WFWF Vanguard Champion, "The Icebreaker" Johnny Mason.
Tyson steps toward Josh, who tilts his head unimpressed.
Tyson Watts: I guess you're not too fond of your spotlight being stolen by the future of this business, are you Josh? Oh I'm sorry, the Franchise. More like a has been.
Josh Dean: You may want to rethink your strategy, Watts. I'm into paydays, not charity cases.
Tyson Watts: Yeah, that would be what you're interested in. That's because you don't want to be exposed.
Josh Dean: I suggest you check my credentials before you start talking dangerously. You won't like my rebuttal.
Johnny Mason steps forward, getting in Josh's face. The Architect matches the aggression.
Josh Dean: Take a step back kid, unless you wanna get embarrassed.
Johnny motions for a mic, in which Tyson obliges.
Josh Dean: You got something to say?
Johnny Mason: Yeah, I do. I don't think you got it anymore.
Josh Dean: Maybe. But to propose a counter argument.
WHAM! Josh absolutely brains Mason with a microphone and floors him! SH*T! Mason is busted open. He pops up and looks to lunge at Josh, who is ready, but Tyson Watts holds him back. Kris Kash steps in the middle as Watts coaxes Mason off the stage.
Josh Dean: You obviously wanna be famous. And you... He points at Kris Kash obviously think I'm just blowing smoke. Well I'll make this guy famous, on the house. So you can shove that fine up your a**, because I ain't paying it. Go ahead and draw up a bout agreement for the next show, and I'll break him just like I will Isaac Cray. But the next time you see me, you better have a contract ready.
Josh slams down the mic and holds up the WFWF Championship high over his head. The camera feed cuts off.
Are we seeing the in ring return of the Architect? Certainly looks that way. Stay tuned for more updates!
