List your best & worst treats you usually get for Halloween.
This is going back to the 70s/80s. I hope it still holds up or makes sense.
BEST: Snickers Milky Way Reese's Peanut Butter Cups M&Ms (plain or peanut) Milk Duds Hershey Bars Quarters
WORST: Necco Wafers Smarties Mallow Cups (looks like a peanut butter cup, but it's filled with marshmallow & coconut) Pennies Raisins Popcorn Balls Apples Melster's Peanut Butter Kisses (black & orange wrapped peanut butter taffy)

I was never big on getting chocolate. I don't know why - I think it was just the prevalent availability of most chocolate offerings that I could, if needed, get most any time with little issue. Candy bars and M&Ms were always duds to me because everyone gave them out. Hard exception for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, obviously.
I loved getting compacted sugar stuff like Nerds, Sweetarts, Smarties, Spree, etc. It was always a bonus to get the "fun size" three pack of Bottle Caps that Sweetarts came in. Bottle Caps are my favorite candy. Atomic Fireballs were always a treat. I love the Halloween, single serve Twizzlers. They have a taste and texture unlike any other Twizzlers offered year round. Props to the old folks in the neighborhood who were clueless to most kids and handed out Good n Plentys and Bit O' Honeys.
I never got them at Halloween, but as a staunch New Englander, I've got to stand tall in my defense of Necco Wafers - especially the chocolate flavored ones. Bomb.

Anyone who has ever given out pennies or any form of change can go straight to hell.

Anyone who has ever given out pennies or any form of change can go straight to hell. Or toothbrushes. We get it - you hate fun.

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only person who thinks this, but I never liked getting Reese's. I've always thought they were bland and boring.
Full size chocolate bars of any kind though are almost always the best. Other than that I was always a fan of Eat-More bars and Skittles.

Tootsie Rolls and Starburst are the best. You can keep that Almond Joy garbage.

Trying to remember here, it's been decades.
Best:
Peanut Butter Cups Starbursts Sweettarts Snickers M&Ms
Worst:
This I really can't remember as well. I remember getting dinner mints a lot. Which, I like a dinner mint but wtf, it's Halloween. I would also list candy corn. I do a few pieces in a season and I am good. Neco Wafers maybe? They're okay but, ehhh. That's I'm out of everything else in my haul candy. Do pennyies or pencils, usually taped to some religious text count?

Oh boy, where do I start with the bad. Tootsie rolls, candy corn, circus peanuts and those horrible strawberry mints.
