Does anyone have any fond memories of the old NWA Six-Man Tag Team Championship? This always baffled me as 6 man tag matches tend to be ugly affairs but I can't help but wonder if the Six-Man Championship could have worked in WWF/WWE...Ax, Crush and Smash of Demolition? The Shield? I guess the downfall was always having to find or create 3 man teams.

I've always been really into the idea, because I'm really into Lucha. But outside of Mexico, it has never seemed people could get it right. That being said, I've always wanted to see an effective six man division outside of Mexico.

loved 6-man championship! wish nwa/wcw coulda kept it going as well. wcw revived it in 1991 but it was a bad year for them with lack of stars and they scrapped it again.
original freebirds, varsity club (rotunda, steiner, williams), midnight ex & big bubba, variations of the horseman, gary hart international members, warriors & sting maybe all come to mind.
the russians & dusty/warriors fued & matches was great!
ivan koloff & powers of pain even held the belts once.
wish wwf woulda had one:
i think of the 3 funk bros as champs fueding and losing belts to the hillbilly's, then studd/bundy & heenan beat them for it, then the Machines win it, and so on. teams over the years frm same manager could always be made like rougeau bros & dino bravo and power & glory with the warlord, 3 heenan family members and more. of course demolition, maybe lod & ultimate warrior or texas tornado. later DX shawn/HHH/chyna coulda had em. 3 nation of domination members (henry,d-lo,kama) and sooo many more.
much later the sheild & wyatt family would be fueding over it.

I enjoyed the 6 man belts. Freebirds and Russians always come to mind first when I think of em.
It would've been cool if the WWF used em as a one off during Demo's last run.

ROH seemed pretty successful with the Six Man Titles when the Young Bucks and Cody and SCU were there. So the concept of those belts can still work in this era if you have proper booking and groups or teams.
I found it funny that the original Six Man Tag Champions didn't even have belts. Ivan, Nikita and Kruscher just carried around a giant trophy to solidify their goal of being Six Man Tag Champions. Not sure when actual title belts came into play, but I remember Dusty and the Road Warriors wearing them.

I enjoyed the 6-man tag team championship concept. I think my favorite memory of the six man championship was when Hawk and Animal turned on Dusty and gouged his eye with the spike.

I always think of the York Foundation when I remember these belts. Seemed like they only faced some form of Big Josh, Dustin Rhodes, Z Man types.
