Darby vs Cody brought back the magic and inner mark in me that WWE lost a while ago. The story and near falls had me on the edge of my seat. Bucks winning the titles was cool. Main event wasn't what I expected.
Also, I know the pandemic has everyone screwed, but the atmosphere of dailys place really takes away from the PPV's. It's unfortunate, I guess cause Dynamite is there every week, it's really not much of a change of scenery.

Solid show.
I'm hoping Kenny gets his wish and the Mox title fight can be done in the ring without weapons, hardcore, blood, etc. So tired of Mox matches. But there's really not much he can do in AEW if he isn't champ. He did mention wanting to be a tag champ though. But he'd need a partner.

So Matt Jack did confirm his legit injury and spoke about the particulars of it in the scrum.

Lame if Kenny, Cody & The Bucks end up with all of the belts.

Lame if Kenny, Cody & The Bucks end up with all of the belts. You know Cody just lost the belt right? Can't please everyone. If they don't have the belts, people complain. If they have the belts, other people complain.

100% right move for heel Young Bucks and Omega to be champs. Especially Omega.
Cody I agree can do something else for a bit. What that is I don't know.

A Darby/Orange program would be fun.

Really solid show tonight with a lot of intriguing matches and outcomes. Looking forward to seeing where storylines go heading into Revolution.
Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Adam Page Surprised the PPV opened with this one, but was happy it did. I've been very curious to see these two wrestle each other since they won the tag titles. You knew longterm there would be a breakup leading to this encounter. Very fun opener with a lot of back and forth. I felt it ended somewhat abruptly though but that might also be because I was just really enjoying the match. I think we'll see part two down the line.
I'm really liking Omega's heel persona. He's a lot more entertaining as the world renowned cocky best in the world type than what he had been doing since AEW launched. Interested to see where Hangman goes from here too. I feel like there's an opportunity to give Hangman a bit more of an edge/chip on his shoulder having been on the losing end here. Maybe this is his rock bottom and he aims to sober up so he can redeem himself in the ultimate rematch.
Orange Cassidy vs. John Silver Fun little match to have on the show. Did a good job of keeping Cassidy's momentum going and put more eyes on John Silver who I'm not all that familiar with. I'm finding The Dark Order more interesting than I ever thought I would but hope they can become more of a threat again. Where has Brodie Lee been?
Cody Rhodes vs. Darby Allin These two have really good in-ring chemistry and always put on a good match together. I'm glad they finally pulled the trigger on Darby getting a title run. He's very unique and I look forward to seeing who he feuds with next. It looks like they're still running with the Team Taz program for Darby, and looks like they're planting the seeds for dissension between Brian Cage and Ricky Starks over the TNT Championship.
Not sure where Cody goes from here. He did a great job of elevating the TNT Championship. I know he recently said he intentionally wanted to remove himself from the world title picture to avoid comparisons to his dad's booking back in the day, but I think it's inevitable he'll be challenging for the world title again in the future. The AEW world title scene needs to be bolstered with more consistent contenders and it feels like they're leaving money on the table by not having Cody Rhodes be in the conversation.
Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose Another solid match between these two, but hoping the women's title picture shifts gears to Shida vs. Britt Baker. Baker has become one of the most entertaining characters in AEW and is in a way better position to lead the division now than she was a year ago. She's improved significantly in the ring and in my opinion should be positioned as the top female performer in the company. Shida is also really great but think being on the chasing end would do her some good.
Young Bucks vs. FTR I felt this match more than lived up to the hype. Both teams gelled really well together and while I was hoping FTR was going to have a lengthier title reign, I'm sure they'll win them back in the future if not in their rematch with the Bucks (which I'm assuming is on the books in the near future). AEW has done a really great job putting focus on the tag team division and it's the first time in a long time I've thoroughly enjoyed tag team wrestling.
Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara This was a fun match but felt like it went on longer than it should have. I've grown more comfortable with cinematic matches over the past year but unless they're a main event level match like the Boneyard Match or Stadium Stampede, then in my opinion it shouldn't eat into too much of the event's runtime. Hopefully Hardy and Guevara can move on from this angle now. Given how Hardy attempted to murder Guevara, I think it'd be interesting to keep Sammy off TV for the next couple of months while MJF digs his claws deeper into Jericho and the Inner Circle, leading to a feud between the two rising stars. Which brings me to...
Chris Jericho vs. MJF Good match between both men. One of the few instances where a screwy finish made a lot of sense considering the wrestlers involved. I've grown to really appreciate this storyline since both guys are cut from the same cloth charcter-wise. I'm very intrigued in seeing how MJF and Wardlow's addition to the Inner Circle will play out. Looking forward to seeing more segments of MJF getting more and more into Jericho's ear and how Santana, Ortiz, Hager and Guevara react.
Eddie Kingston vs. Jon Moxley I appreciated the story these two were trying to tell over the past month and the match came together nicely but it didn't feel like it earned the main event spot on this show. I say that, but I'm also in the camp that feels like 99% of the time the world title should close the show. So this match was conflicting for me.
I'm not overly familiar with Kingston's work and while I totally agree he's really good on the mic, he just does not scream main event player to me. I really enjoy his involvement with his stable and being their mouthpiece but I never saw him as the guy that would end Mox's title reign. Even so, it's a nice additional notch in Moxley's belt as he moves onto working with Omega. I'm looking forward to that feud and think Omega is the right guy take the world title going into 2021.

You know Cody just lost the belt right? Can't please everyone. If they don't have the belts, people complain. If they have the belts, other people complain. Yeah, right? I genuinely did not. I just skimmed the highlights. I guess a lot of my perception comes from when I stopped watching six months ago. The Young Bucks were just kinda dithering around, half-feuding with some guys, taking it in turns getting injured. Then FTR came in, they flip-flopped heel, and... Now they're champions? Now is the time when they're the hottest act in the tag team division? Finally ready to hold the gold in a way they weren't before? Same with Kenny. I'm assuming The Cleaner is a good character, but is he really right now the hot thing to be challenging/dethroning Moxley? I'll always have a little bit of a Jeff Jarrett/Triple H sense of them putting themselves over, but Cody losing does make it better.

Seeing as you clearly don't watch the product, and you don't know the answer to this questions, I'll enlighten you. No one is going to be "hot," during the Covid-19 era of shows, after all there's very few fans live. On the other hand, AEW is telling long-form stories and both sets of stories have come to this point where YBs are now Tag Champs and Omega is next in line to challenge Moxley. You'll always have a little Jarrett/HHH sense, um... Thankfully the run of the EVPs in AEW have been polar opposite of how Jarrett or HHH have ever been booked/pushed. Then again, don't expect you to know... since you skim highlights and don't watch the shows.

Objectively great show.
TK mentioned big TV events in the next two months. Hopefully, we don't have to wait until the next PPV from Moxley/Omega.

Despite the bigger matches, there just isn’t enough to make me feel like it wasn’t just another episode of Dynamite. The FOMO is real now for sure after hearing the praise for the matches. I’m hopeful for Revolution they’re in a different setting.

Jarrett held the championship like 3 times in the first year of TNA and Triple H was literally handed the belt. Omega and the Bucks have had over a year build to this moment. it would make zero sense to not pull the trigger on them now and certify their spots.

Cody, Bucks, and Omega are nothing like HHH when it comes to always winning!
