Is the 24/7 similar to the Hardcore Title of the old days? (Been very out of touch for a long time)

I wouldn't retire it, but I would freshen up the talent going fr it. Truth's shtick was funny for awhile, but it's (usually) not anymore.
I'd like to see it used to build up a new talent. Let's say someone like Dabba Kato (for example) wins it, and no matter who tries, they fail to defeat him. Give them a lengthy run and maybe end up with a new star out of it.

It's frustrating to watch because it's so easily booked. They just don't care anymore though.
It needs to be more a PG hardcore title than a roll up title.
You can keep the comedy and make it more credible. You don't need to sacrifice one for the other.

I feel like there's so much that they can do with it and it's frustrating because nearly every finish is a roll up pin and it's really boring.

I feel like the pandemic really hurt this title. Before it the title was defended on airplanes, golf courses, in neighborhoods. The need to get creative and not do just the back stage area.

It has a lot of potential to give lower card guys that aren’t gonna do much a chance to spread their wings and show off their talents

I would change to a TV title, it gets defended every week and lower card guys go for it. The 24/7 rule is dumb.

I don't like that title and it's entire idea.
A TV title that is defended weekly with contenders challenging based on their win/loss records would be awesome.
Lol, I also know that that will never happen because Vince and his crew thinks comedy is better.

Why not switch it, so the females go chasing after it, or someone on NXT wins it and has some fun with it with those wrestlers.
The fun thing about the Hardcore title was that different wreslters had different approaches to it. Raven had fun segments differently than Crash Holly. Each person who won it was actually fighting for it most of the time instead of just doing "school boy" pin on everybody.

I did like when the belt travelled between Smackdown and Raw for that brief time. If they did that again, then it would be better. It's not going anywhere and it shouldn't. But yeah, like it was said, there is so much more they can do with it.

And since all shows are in Orlando now, they cant use the excuse of the champion not being able to travel.

He would always find a way to escape and would kick out of getting hit in the head with lamps etc. It was actually funny and he was booked so much better.

I just watched a highlight package of 24/7 title wins and it was kind of weak. There were some funny moments though, some of the acting was so bad haha. It's amusing though and good filler it seems. I say keep it, give people screen time, keep some comic relief in the mix.

I was hoping over time it would become what the Hardcore Championship was back from 2000-2002 where it was a mix of lower mid-card talent holding it and giving them screen time, comedy segments, etc. but also have stints where upper mid-card to main event talent come in and monopolize the title for a bit.
I feel the title itself has limitations on it from simply being "on the line 24/7" without any sort of anything goes element. Even if they didn't want to specify "hardcore rules" I find the title could be a lot more fun if there were simply no rules for matches featuring 24/7 Championship. It's not like WWE matches don't feature weapons. Sure, it wouldn't be as intense as some of the hardcore matches from the late 90's/early 2000's but it could still make for some fun matches week to week rather than the plethora of backstage segments that ultimately go back to having R-Truth winning the belt back.

Hell no. It’s a great value title for the lower card, although the writing is often very lazy and asks R-Truth to do a lot of heavy lifting to make each skit work. Sometimes he achieves it, a lot of the time he doesn’t. I’d like to see it get some decent creative focus again, or change up how it’s used for a bit, give someone a run that’s longer than a couple of weeks. Maybe with MVP, and having the Hurt Business all hold titles.
If they did retire it, I wonder if we’d go a month without a thread asking if it should be brought back.
