Kaiser Doll Stands for WWE 101
SO! Today we will be looking at Kaiser Doll Stands for WWE Action Figures (By Mattel)
Since the only size I have available to me is the 6" to 7" size, we will go with that.
First off. These stands work easily for almost every women's Mattel figure there is.
The Renee Young Abomination Figure is one of the tallest women in my collection. If it works for her, it works for everyone smaller than her.
Moving on
I apologize for not having a ton of extra stands to work with. These have gotten really hard to come by.
Anyway, here's a 3 part photo of 3 different, average build men's figures that it works with.
(Yes, the white bracket with black base was a deliberate choice for visibility. If you order stands from anywhere though, the bracket and base will be the same color)
Notice that on Sami, there's plenty of room for the bracket to breathe beneath the join. The deeper you shove that bracket into the base, the more sturdy the stand will be.
Road Doggy Dogg, there's less room, and Jeff has the least at the bottom. Where you see the bracket placed on Jeff? That's about as high as you're going to be able to leave that bracket and not risk your figure falling over.
And then, there's clothing.
Back to Sami, you'll notice I took his cloth goods shirt off to use the stand. I would NOT recommend using the stands with cloth goods, as the nature of the stand means it could easily snag the shirt. But, if you have to, I'd put the bracket carefully *over* the shirt, not under, as the brackets bend outward and the edge will be on the outside.
Edit: I just noticed the brackets bend inward and under. Just don't use cloth goods with these. Simple as that. It's too risky and a snag will make you really mad. Also, please remember that these are metal and WILL scratch painted torsos if you aren't very careful and, I will admit, it's tough to be careful due to the design of the stand. They're designed to slide in and snap around the waist so keep that in mind when using with painted torso figures. Oh, and if you are thinking of bending the waist part open, then back around the figure, JUST DON'T. Does NOT work at all. Trust me, I've tried.
That brings me to rubber clothing.
If you have a figure with rubber coat/vest/whatever, put the bracket *under* it if at all possible, as it will keep the soft rubber from scratching on the outside where you can see it. Also, the rubber parts can get bulky and you want the bracket as slender as possible to help with stability (these things aren't specifically designed for action figures, so you want to try and conform to the specs of the Kaiser Stand the best you can.)
It should be noted that yes, you can bend the brackets easily, But know that doing so can muk with the stability and once you start bending them, they aren't going back to their original neat and straight form very easily, so keep the bending to a minimum.
FINALLY
That brings me to figures that DO NOT WORK
(With this size anyway)
Big Waisted Figures.
Not to pick on Nia, but she doesn't work nicely with these. You have to seriously bend it big time to get it around her hips. And because of this, anyone who has a larger waist than Nia (like Otis and figures with large overshirts like Shane) don't work nicely either. If you bend and stretch them it might be ok but again, you're compromising the stand and also compromising stability.
Finally, TALL FIGURES
This is the Ringside Exclusive Taker as Kane and, as you can see, this figure wouldn't work with this stand on a dang BET. He's way WAY too tall. If you are going for figures of this height, try a different height of stand. The 6-7 inch ones won't work regardless of bending because the bracket just can't move high enough in the base to make it work.
I hope this helps anyone who is interested in using Kaiser Doll Stands for WWE Figures. I like them a lot (although I prefer RSC ones for cost point) and they work on all sorts of figures. They're my go-to choice for Marvel Legends and Doctor Who figures, and when I have a WWE figure that's being stubborn or has bad ankles, I will break one out for them if they fit.
