As a collector, one of my biggest pet hates is when Mattel paint the torso on singlet figures. The skin tone never matches, and on lighter tones, I always find it marks really easily. Bret Hart Elite figures, for instance, were always moulded in the early days and they look so much better than the recent ones.
Am I the only one?? Does anyonelese hope that they go back to moulded skin on singlet figures???

I mean isn't black paint cheaper in general?
Wouldn't 1 or 2 coats of black on skin tone casted body be cheaper, than many skin tone coats on a black casted body?
They always look off to me and absolutely hate it, not only because it's clear as day, but what happens when your figures paint starts to chip? Its easier to touch up black spots rather than finding and making the correct skin tone to match.

I prefer molded. Whenever I get a painted on singlet, it just never matches the skin tone properly or has some kind of paint flaw.

Mold skin tone, paint the singlet. Just in terms of surface area this makes the most sense.

hate hate hate the painted torsos. You can always see the singlet colour at the seams and they mark so easily.

I wonder if painting the singlet onto the flesh-tone plastics was causing the paint to chip off in the ab crunch, and this felt like a better solution.
I'm sure it's just that black plastic is cheaper.

I think it must be cost - My old Bret defining moments still looks great and I've posed it using the ab crunch loads.

Who is the 1 board member that voted yes for painted? I hope in 2021, this gets fixed. 🤞
